Well, as an enchanter myself I will be greatly pleased if this is going to replace the almost impossible to get drop from ashenvale treants. Maybe I will finally be able to finish the "Mob Drops" section of my enchanting.

Edit: It dropped for me recently from Rotting Slimes, although it took quite a while. (About two hours of farming) Again, reiterating from another post, it dropped from the slime itself, not the box that periodically, and inexplicably, appears after they die. Good luck to all completionist enchanters out there!

Confirmed dropped from a Rotting Slime in Ashenvale, had to kill 5 before it dropped.

I also just had it drop from a Rotting Slime. I had to farm for a good 15 minutes (@lvl 85 = approx 40-50 mobs) before it dropped for me. It did not drop from one of the chests they intermittently drop.

Picked up from a crab thing in the Zoram Strand. About a half hour of looking. Not sure if its a good drop rate or if I just got lucky.

I, too, got mine from the area with the Rotting Slimes in Southern Ashenvale. It wasn't actually from a slime, however, but one of the Severed Druids that also wander there.

It took me 5 Slimes, 5 Severed Druids and 4 Severed Keepers before the pattern dropped. Dropped 5/14/2012 - patch 4.3.4.

Farmed oozes for a couple hours and never got it, decided to work on quests instead and got it off of a Lesser Felguard in bottom left of Ashenvale.

Just decided to take the advice of people here and farm the Rotting Slimes in Ashenvale and it dropped after about 3min. Definitely the best place to farm it. My guess is that the drop rate is higher for people that are actually enchanters.

This recipe just dropped to me from 5th-6th kill of Rotting Slime, seeing that people are reporting high percentage of drop from this mob I believe it's best farm mob.

After farming the Thistlefur mobs for around twenty minutes, I decided to try the Forsaken Herbalists since they're... you know, herbalists. I received the recipe on the fourth mob. This might've just been dumb luck, but hey.

WHICH HERBALIST BOOST IS BEST?

(WARNING! Herbalist's Gloves are Leather, and therefor they can not be equipped by cloth wearers.)

a) I enchanted +5 Herbalist's Gloves with the +2 to Herbalism enchant, and with a Gnomish Army Knife I get a total of +17 to Herbalism.

b) Having the same enchanted herbalist's gloves on, and with the herbalism spade in my bags, I still have +17 herbalism. So there is no change or addition to herb gathering with the spade added to the gloves.

c) The Herbalist's Spade gives +10 to herbalism; however this does not stack with the Gnomish Army Knife, and your skill bonus will remain at 10 despite having both in your bags.

CONCLUSION: Herbalist's Gloves enchanted for +2 herb gathering, coupled with the spade the gnomish army knife will give you a total of +17—this is the best boost to Herbalism.

(NOTE TO TAURENS: The Tauren racial buff is +15 to herb gathering, and faster herb cultivation. When you equip items that raise your herb skill it will appear on your Herbalism leveling bar as a plus to gathering. However the Tauren racial does not appear as a plus on your bar. So everything below applies to all races, and the Tauren racial can be added if you are a Tauren.)

If you want the very best herb bonus (this has not been tested yet), enchant Herbalist's Gloves with the +5 "Enchant Gloves - Advanced Herbalism," or "Enchant Gloves - Gatherer." I haven't tested out the stacking of these yet, but in theory you should end up with +20—but this depends on whether or not Blizzard has allowed them to stack—so far I have not been able to raise herb gathering above +17 on any character. I will update this comment as soon as I have results.

. . .Don't bother trying to farm the recipe Enchant Gloves - Advanced Herbalism. If you read all the way through the comments for recipe drops you will see that some commenters report GMs stating that the recipe is still in the game, though very rare; while one post has a link to a GM conversation screenshot wherein the GM states that the recipe is no longer in the game. The fact that to this day NO ONE has ever posted an experience of this recipe dropping, or from where it drops, I have to conclude that either the few who it has dropped for keep it secret, or they simply don't know what they got (and may have even vendored it), OR the recipe does not drop anymore. However you can buy it on my server right now for 20k—it's hard to know if the seller had it drop for them recently, or had it in their bank for a long time.

I was a little late to the Enchanting Recipe Collectors Club but after reading through some comments here I thought I would try the Rotting Slimes in Ashenvale, after reading some people get them on their second or third kill I was hoping it would be an easy recipe.

I started to lose hope it was an easy recipe around Slime #60, but kept some chat up with my guildies to try make it less of a drain, finally at kill #72 I got my first Oozing Bag drop, so I knew there was more than just grey Squishy Chunks and Slimy Bones. One of the worst things about these was their range gaps, as a Mage I could sometimes fit 2 blinks in between killing one, and after a glance about it was just that case, kill #73! This one had a weird amount of loot, enough to take me onto a second page, at first I seen the green name, and I got all giddy. Ritual Bands of the Eagle, level 13 cloth bracers. My hopes shattered, I closed the window and relooted him this time with auto loot on, and it was there, on the second page!

Enchant number 348 out of 389! Almost 90% done baby! I would still recommend this spot to anyone after this recipe, the Slimes cover a lot of land, and spawn plentiful so there is next to no time spent waiting for them to pop back up and every now and again you see a majestic blue hippogryph flutter past.

Got this super fast farming Rotting Slimes. 2 dropped in 1 go (one from slime, another I'm guessing from a Severed Druid I killed at the same time).
Alliance, and had Enchanting learned. not sure if that makes a difference

Looking for this Formula, I read through all the comments on this Page, and they indicated a good chance of Formula: Enchant Gloves - Herbalism dropping from the Rotting Slimes in the SE corner of Ashenvale, so away I went.

Around kill #50 on the Slimes I got a little bored and started stabbing Severed Druids for a bit of fun, as their Death Scream (aren't they already Dead?) is quite amusing. They really go all-in on the whole 'Death Throes' thing. I killed Rotting Slime #64, looted it, (got Revolting Ichor), stabbed nearby SD #8, looted him, and got my Herbalism Enchantment Scroll from his transparent corpse. Success! Not from the Slimes, exactly, but close enough. Just for grins, I continued killing the locals until I had bagged 100 Rotting Slimes and a few more Druids for a decent sample size, but no more scrolls dropped. I'd say this is a good place to do circles and spread mayhem until the Formula drops, and it only took about 30-40 minutes.
