This one of the new drake mounts is the one with original Alexstrasza's coloring. It's got red skin, golden eyes, purple markings and saddle and golden adorns (bracelets, horn-rings and saddle details)

The other two are:
Redini dell'Araldo del Crepuscolo - purple drake with blue eyes and markings, black saddle and copper (?) adorns (and a bit of a 'twilighted' feel to it)
Redini del Draco Fiammeggiante - orange drake with green eyes and markings, yellow saddle and silver adorns (for me the least appealing of the three)

Can't wait to see them all in-game :D

Hopefully this gorgeous drake is the start of unique (at least in colour) 100% mount drops from Heroic bosses and the end of having the most prestigeous mounts drop on normal AND be 100% from Heroic. I am not one to be petty, but I feel that Heroic mounts should mark the most prestigeous mount possible to obtain, not something that can also be farmed on normal. Am I lucky enough to get these mounts? No, hardly. I still think that not everything has to be available to the masses. Some things must stay holy and that includes 100% Heroic boss mounts.

Out of these drakes many argue that the Blazing one looks the most unique, but I dislike the colouration of that drake. The Meta one looks fantastic, but seriously...what can beat Alexstrazsa? The one flaw with this drake is that it doesn't have a dangling jewel from the lower jaw, and it doesn't have those amazing wing membranes that Alexsrazsa's got. Perhaps they'll add those to make it stand out even more?

Either way, this drake = spot on Blizzard, now continue down this road and make the 100% heroic drops stand out even more from the rest, OR follow the ICC model...one mount with a ton of lore behind it for killing on Heroic. That's the ticket!

I really hope they make this mount a really super rare drop rate, with the nerfs to dragon soul every month this mount will be so easy to aquire. Making it a really rare drop will preserve the essence ofthis beautiful mount. Similar to the mount off lich king which was a guranteed drop and then changed to a rare drop.

Eroica: Follia di Alamorte has a 100% drop rate on this mount, 25-Man drops 2 drakes, and 10-Man drops 1.

The Ancella della Protettrice della Vita has two drakes with the same model they are Redini del Draco Fiammeggiante and Redini dell'Araldo del Crepuscolo.

On my last ds run with my guild in Cataclysm (10 man) it ofc dropped, and i was so lucky rolling 100 on it, and ofc i won it =) i love this mount its so pretty <3

On our guild's last Heroic DS run, I was type /roll to superstitiously get the bad rolls out, I rolled a 5, 13, and 100.

My guild was like, "Damn you just wasted your 100."

Well when we started rolling, a hunter rolled a 100, and surprisingly I rolled a 100 too. We rerolled and I rolled a 97.

My guild is jokingly accusing me of /roll hacking. XD

I still have not seen this at the BMAH yet. It was listed before the expansion came out but it looks as though it was never added. Personally I would drop 200,000 on this red horned beauty. Also it appears to have a 3% drop chance which is rather high for rare mounts.

There is also an Orange Redini del Draco Fiammeggiante and Purple Redini dell'Araldo del Crepuscolo one as well. I wish they would add more!

Hmm, because the drop rates for this mount have been nerfed to around 1%, I'm curious as to what would happen if it dropped on 25 man now. Would it still drop 2 Handmaidens? Or would it only drop one unless you were lucky enough to see a 2nd drop as well? (If that's even a possibility) If this is the case, it would be more efficient to farm 25 heroic if you'd be trying to get multiple drakes when you get that super lucky run where it finally drops. It may take a while for someone to be able to clarify and test this, but if someone sees it drop on 25 heroic, I'd love to know how it currently works.

To farm this mount in MOP, since you need to kill every single heroic boss to pull deathwing heroic, you need a tank + dps + healer combo.

As a blood dk with SOO normal dps gear, I soloed first 4 bosses on heroic, madness I got close but I wasn't able to do the last phase which requires slowing the adds, anyway you have to wait out the enrage.

Blackhorn is really annoying due to the ship's fragility, and spine is even worse due to grips and constant rolls when you are the only one, and ultraxion requires insane dps, around 1,2 millions if you are soloing, 600k 2-man, 300k 3-man, this is because of the fact 2 people need to soak hour of twilight, so we 3-manned these bosses as blood dk in dps gear, disc priest and frost mage; you can probably 2-man anything with tank + dps combo, but for spine, either you're able to solo it and don't mind having to move left, right, left, right every 4 seconds and wiping to random fiery grips, or you need a dps who can stay alive to balance the boss, which required us to get a healer as well for dispells, else I would be the only one to survive and would end up soloing.

Most likely in the next expansion it will be easy to solo every boss on heroic except spine, because rolls are still going to kill you no matter the level and grips are still going to make amalgamations fall, even though it should be easy to 2-man with the hp people will have.

This is not meant to be a deceiving post, I hope this mount is still in game, thing is I'm not sure, here's the reasons:

I asked even on game guide eu, basically I am not believing this has been reduced to an 1% drop, I believe it has been removed as of mop launch, if you have proof it's still in game, please post, even a screenshot of it dropping now would be nice.

I think it's been removed cause I did 215 solo runs on heroic (I know, can happen to do more and not get a mount, happened to me already) during which four blazing drakes (supposedly also 1% drop) dropped and zero lifebinder's.

I find it really weird that:

1) a boss drops 2 different mounts at 1% and in 215 runs, 4 mounts drop and all the times it's the wrong mount
2) on wowhead I found zero comments of getting this mount past cata
3) on eu game guide I found one comment of getting this mount past cata
4) on us game guide I found one comment of getting this mount past cata

Normally such forums are flooded with comments of people getting those mounts, I made a ticket as well but hope someone here will be able to prove it still drops, or admit it doesn't.

Blizzard said in answer to my ticket that is still drops, however it's extremely low, etc., in line with other mounts, and I found one who says he got it a few weeks ago, however I also saw in wowhead that the counter of kills increased by 176 and the drop counter didn't increase by one, so not sure if there may be a bug as of patch 6.0 (because the one who posted he got it in the us forums is from a few days before 6.0) where this can't drop, if anyone knows of any drop since then please post.

Edit: lifebinder still drops, took me 254 solo kills and got it the last reset; during these 254 runs I had 2 experiments drop from ultraxion 10 hc and 6 blazing drakes drop from madness, 4 from 10 hc and 2 from 25 hc (which makes me think their drop rate is higher on hc than normal but also higher on 25 hc than 10 hc, as the amount of runs I did on 10 hc is insanely higher than 25 hc), sadly I already had both from normal soloing months before, so they were useless till now, this week lifebinder is the only mount that dropped in my 12 kills, so this is a new record of unluck for me, beating onyxia which was also 1% and took me 251; blazing drake is DEFINITELY higher drop than lifebinder, I reckon 2,5-3% on hc.

If you have a lot of time and want to see if I said the truth, third screenshot will list the statistics of all the 35 chars I farmed this mount on + a char where I only did a group kill and didn't use it further (a mage, go figure), where you can see the 254 kills, it's a HUGE screen and will have to zoom to see the numbers.

This is solo-able now on H10, even without a pet.

Just stand in the middle, and shift left and right every few seconds. The roll messages will spam you, but keep at it so you aren't thrown.

Kill off the tentacles, the buff they stack is no bueno. Kill bloods as they spawn, and try to kill Amalgs before they soak up too many. Run one around (making sure to zigzag each side) with an Amalg once you've got a lot of blood on the ground.. 9 stacks and it'll be ready, so drag it near the plate and knock out the tendon once you can see.

Repeat twice more - the bloods spawn faster on phases 2 and 3.

I did this as a ranged class, but melee should be fine too. Try not to AE too much.

Just had this drop TWICE in one run, which happened to by my first full run ever as well. This was on 25H. I didn't get a screenshot of both in the lootbox, but you can see my achievement completed date, which is today as I am posting this. And it shows only my one character has gotten the achievement, so no way I could have gotten it on a second character. The second picture is hovered over the mount in my bag so you can see that it is already known.

Just to make sure, all you have to do is set it to heroic either 10 or 25 and run it right? I tried talking to the guy inside also and there is no difference. I have noticed that the bosses have a debuff something like "35% less health" or something, even in heroic. Is that ok? I apologize, but after 150 runs on several toons, I was starting to wonder if I was doing anything wrong.

Edit: After well over 300 runs with 13 characters, this beauty FINALLY dropped on Heroic 25. On Christmas' Eve! What better present than that? Raid/instance mounts up to Cataclysm: complete! Don't give up stick with it, it will drop eventually. Merry Christmas and good luck everyone!

Started doing this on two toons since WoD. Didn't know how easy it was to solo spine so didn't do madness for a while. 59 madness kills( 38 H) and no sign of either mount. RNG is a bi....and drop rate is indeed low like all other raid mounts.

Today, while completeing DS for a gold run, like I do most weeks, I saw not only this mount, but the Blazing Drake drop off of Deathwing.
I personally haven't heard of this happening before, but I can confirm now that it CAN in fact happen. Unfortunately, I already had both mounts prior, but it was quite the sight.

The Handmaiden simply doesn't drop on normal modes.

* Wowhead's tallies for 10-player Normal don't seem to be reset from when the drop rates changed, resulting in presumably erroneous data. Both the Blazing Drake and the Music Roll can drop on this mode, and I'd guess at a slightly lower rate than for 10-player Heroic.

Easy Deathwing farm on heroic with save from normal.

Create macro and drag it on panel:

/click StaticPopup1Button1
/click DropDownList2Button2

Go to Normal, speak with Thrall, choose battle start dialog, but DON'T click confirmation button "Yes". Instead, use the macro. It's automatically chooses "Yes" in confirmation window and then changes difficulty from Normal to Heroic.

Battle starts on Heroic mode. Profit!

It's not 100% working method. It works correctly in 80% of cases. If it did not work, maybe you change difficulty recently so macro can't change it again. Jump into the water, die, and try again after some time.

If you still can not get working macro, try to bind macro on number key («1» for example), after speaking with Thrall and confirmation button appearing right click on your character portrait, scroll down to raid difficulty and scroll to heroic and then press the key with macro.

I ran into a situation when pressing macro brings up a window «report player for cheating». Experimentally I found out that this is happening if I'm not alone (farm with friend). Following sequence helps: «switch from party to the raid, switch back to party, wait 10 seconds, then speak with Thrall and use macro as written above».

Alright, wow.. I've been soloing this on 25 Heroic for a few months now on two characters. I'm mainly after the Blazing Drake for the Awake the Drakes achievement. I think I have around 30 kills now on both my chars combined. Today the Life Binders Handmaiden dropped on my first kills of this week. Okay thats cool, too bad the Blazing Drake didn't instead. On to my next character, and this damn drake dropped again. That's.. well, I don't know. I hate RNG. Bloody hell

2 lifebinders can drop in 1 kill even right now, screens for proof, with autoloot you only have 1 second to screenshot them inside the elementium fragments, so had to take 2 screens, 1 with me getting a lifebinder and another one with the lifebinder I just got in inventory and another inside the fragment.

After struggling a lot to get my first lifebinder back in early wod (254 attempts) I kept farming gold and now will have something like 1.000 kills on account, for a total of 15 of them dropped that I could've taken, 17 total dropped (after drop rate was reduced to 1% ofc, although I believe it's 2% based on this data and on wowhead) but in 2 such cases I called a couple of friends, so they got them ofc.

I couldn't take some of the 15 mounts I got while soloing because they're unique, if you have one already, even in bank, you won't be able to "store" another, and this time 2 dropped, so obviously could only take one.

Posting this just cause I didn't really think you could get 2 SAME mounts in one kill, I know you could be lucky and get both blazing and lifebinder in 1 (not that lucky so far) but not the same, yet you can.

Officially done my 250th kill this week. Still no drop. I farm it with 9 characters. 3 times 25 man HC 6 times 10 man HC.
I got 3 Experiment 12-B's and 2 Blazing Drakes still no sign from Handmaiden :( I wish you best luck.!

So after a year of grinding this mount weekly on 2-3 characters, I decided once again to equip my almighty Talisman of True Treasure Tracking (Yes, I do still believe in the power of the amulet) and behold, it dropped!

It can't hurt trying, grab yourself an amulet - you have nothing to lose :)

I have looted this mount four times in around 65 attempts (and three times within 2 months of very casual 1-2 attempts per week farming)! I have yet to see the Blazing Drake or Experiment 12-B. Probability is a weird thing......I die a little inside each time guildies say grats when I loot it...

Not so unexpectable, as a friend of mine got both blazing drake and lifebinder from a single kill in cata, when lifebinder was still 100% drop, but they can still both drop in the same kill.

Had a demonstration today with my mage who is apparently very lucky with mounts.

Don't be envious, I had over 1.000 heroic and 800 normal kills and dropped over 10 of each of the 3 ds mounts so far, it's normal, I just run it a lot for gold, but it had never ever happened to me before today to get both in the same kill.

I've also seen it happen (to someone else, with a wowhead screenshot) with malygos, he got both blue and azure drake in the same kill.

After 3+ years of weekly raiding Heroic 25 on 4 separate characters with the "Don't Help Us, Aspects" difficulty kick up, I am so glad to finally have this and its companion mounts from Dragon Soul. Now I continue to plug away at Onyxia so I can complete the achievement and get the green drake.

For those of you still trying - I don't truly know if it makes a difference or not, but I always did it on Heroic 25 with the difficulty kick up. I never did any kind of specific pattern (I've tried speed runs but I never go less than 18 minutes solo). If you're just starting or still plugging away...you'll get it eventually. Just keep at it.

For crying out loud, I've been trying to get Rivendare's mount for 8 years....

I think I just used up all of my luck for a good year at least. Was running Dragon Soul for the Mage transmog, didn't realize this mount dropped in here. Died about 10 times on Spine of Deathwing, got zero transmog pieces, but Life-Binder's sure as hell dropped for me! Makes up for the hours of farming Time Lost Proto.

Finally after nearly 150 kills this finally dropped for me last night. I've been running DS on and off for 5 years. I ran this so much I got the Fangs of the Father for my rogue out of boredom.Along the way I got B-12 and Blazing Drake, but now she finally dropped and I never have to go back... my life has no more meaning D:

I started mount farming again last week after a very long break. I ran DS 10 man heroic on 6 toons and managed to get Life-Binder's. On my next alt I ran on 10 man normal and got Blazing. I probably had about 60-70 attempts prior to this week but I always hated spine so would give up. No more! Good luck everyone

This mount finally dropped for me after years of attempting and giving up on 11.11.2020 (first day of pre-patch event)! I will never ever ever set foot in this rotten place again. Also, on the path to this mount, I had to delete one Blazing drake aswell.

Hello all! Welcome to 2021!

For solo guide on Spine of Deathwing:

What you need to know:
1. You will need to kill 3/4 tentacles. This is to ensure the blood slimes spawns. Also by killing tentacles will spawn the Fire Elemental also.
2. IMPORTANT : Stand in the tentacle's spawn area, this is to latch yourself onto his back when he turns over to Left / Right side

Steps:
1. Standing in 1 of the tentacle's spawn area, you will need 9 stacks of the blood slimes. You will need to kill the blood slimes in order for them to spawn the lava thingy on the floor. (I will suggest you guys to spread out the blood slimes around the middle area).

2. You will need to time the blood slimes carefully, because Deathwing will roll to the left / right whenever you stay at the same side for too long.
TIPS: The reason I suggest you guys to spread the blood slimes around the middle area is because, you will need to tango left and right side of Deathwing's back, to avoid him rolling. Which will give you more time for your Fire Elemental to pick up the lavas around it.

3. Remember you will need 9 or more blood slimes to spawn, spread them out then immediately kill them, then only you hit the tentacle. Also when you kill the last tentacle (4/4) it will take about 8 seconds for the Fire Elemental to spawn and come at you.
TIPS: MOVE YOURSELF LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE, take note on the warning sign of your screen, something like: Deathwing sense movement on his left / right will about to roll. (ENSURE THIS WARNING POPS UP ALL THE TIME WHEN YOU ARE DOING THIS PHASE)

4. After you kite around the Fire Elemental, he will look like a big ass round bomb, CONTINUE TO TANGO LEFT AND RIGHT, then move the elemental near to his front Armor, keep on tango, buy time for the Fire Elemental to burst this Nuclear skill to rip the 1st Armor off.

5. Once the 1st Armor broke off, quickly stand on the tentacle's spawn area! Because you WILL lose focus and standing on 1 side for too long, Deathwing will roll! This is the most crucial part.

6. Repeat the first step again and kept on moving forward. Time yourself and the tentacles to ensure the moment you line up the blood slimes the Fire Elemental will be able to suck the pool up! While you are planning, please for the love of god, stay in the tentacle area LOL. Cannot stress this enough.

Guys, I've died like 18 times throughout that 1 hour. Finally got the hang of it.

Deathwing decided to have mercy on me during my Twitch stream and drop Ancella della Protettrice della Vita after many many years! I ran it on Anima del Drago 25 Man Heroic for those of you wondering. For those of you still farming the mount, keep your heads up, it will drop eventually!

I never heard of this mount. I got it today off an Unclaimed Black Market Container from the BMAH. Totally worth it! I collect mounts so I'll take anything, especially the hard-to-get ones. Apparently the drop rate here is terrible, plus it's from the Dragon Soul raid which takes a bit to complete because of the long ship encounter. It comes from the seed at the end which is where I would have much preferred the drake mount instead, lol, but I'm not complaining.

Been farming for this since late Pandaria and it finally dropped...my patience. Luckily found it on the BMAH and bid 300k on it, I over did it yes but RNG can kiss my behind with how unkind it's been to me for the past years with long raids.

After an eternity of trying, to the tune of like 100+ times per character with 5 characters, this finally dropped for me a few months after Dragonflight was released. Of course, now that flying is so screwed up in Dragonflight all those wonder mounts mean nothing. Next up, invincible. 500+ tries (recorded tries, not counting from before you could keep up with attempts)

I didn't have luck to drop it during cataclysm. And later on because of no skip, and annoying spine fight I have never back to this place to actually farm this. Since many years I was thinking: "Someday I will have to start farm this, ugh :/", but recently I randomly checked BMAH and it was there with less than 30 min timer. Started bidding a little bit and ended up to win this for 450k gold. I think it was definitely worth it, especially it was the only mount I was missing from Dragon Soul!
