If you are not yet high enough for Arathi, the Naga around Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills drop these pretty decently. In about 10 minutes I had 8 of them. Not as good as Arathi, if the post above is accurate, but not bad.

Do these scales even drop any more?

I have been farming for them several places where they should drop, but so far it has been a waste of time.

These exist! They have a really low drop rate, but I got one to drop from the Slitherblade Sea Witches. Don't give up hope! I tried Southshore and Arathi (I wouldn't try Arathi if I was you, too much swimming) and no drops at all. The witches are on and around the isle with the big water elemental. Good luck.

Try to kill the Naga's in the sea @ Desolace 27.3, 10.4 (@ the i in ranazjar isle). As soon as they spawn, they start by going to the shore and is easy killed. (NO SWIMMING and fast respawn time. :)) ~1/5 is a Strega del Mare Lamasalmastra (i already don the Il nemico del nostro nemico dont now if that do anything ?) 3 Nagascaglia in ~45min + 3 green.

Supposedly Lady Zephris(sp?) in Hillsbrad foothills, down by the water has Naga Scales as her most frequent drop. Maybe so, but I have killed her 6 times, got decent loot. No naga scales.

Quite possibly one of the most horrible items to be farmed. Low drop rate, low spawn rate for the ones that drop them, and annoying places to kill them (mainly underwater).

On Blizzard's official site, if you look this up it says they're only dropped by Lady Saravess (Blackfathom), Lady Zephris (rare Hillsbrad), and the Slitherblade Sea Witches in Desolace.

In my experience, I only ever got any from Sea Witches, and got them with only a few minutes of farming. I never got any in Arathi Highlands (and I farmed there for a while).

I'm assuming that, with the AoE looting, people were getting drops from the rare spawns (Blizzard seems to have missed Prince Nazjak on their website), but killing other naga as well, and looting the other naga, so the drops were getting miscredited with the wowhead client. Farm the Sea Witches.

I tried killing the naga in Hillsbrad and Arathi and didn't get any get scales to drop. After going to Desolace, I ran in a circle around Ranazjar Isle, killing every naga around the perimeter of the isle in order to spawn and kill as many Slitherblade sea witches as possible. Respawns were incredibly fast, but it took roughly 30-40 minutes of running in circles just to get 2 scales to drop (which only dropped off the witches). So yeah, the drop rate on these is pretty bad, but they do drop if you're patient enough.

This item is very interesting... Rather rare drop, and as far as I can determine it only is and always has been used to craft precisely one item, Azure Shoulders, which is a rather average green item. What am I missing here?

Update- yes still available, needed it for some transmog crafted shoulders. Looted from Sea witches near the water elemental off the coast of northern desolace.

Take some snacks with you though - took a little time.

Took about 30-40 minutes to farm 2 to make Azure Shoulders from around the island in northern Desolace. I have no idea if this was the best spot or not but it was mentioned a few times here more recently than some of the older spots. I was hoping to farm 4 in case the first ones sell but I'm not much of a farmer and the drop rate seemed really low (10% maybe from the Sea Witches, obviously too small of a sample size to really tell). Both dropped from the Sea Witches. Seemed to be 3 different types of mobs that randomly spawned there, Just kept doing laps around the island, the mobs had respawned by the time I'd done an entire lap around.

These are a complete PITA to farm because the outside mob that drops them the most frequent is in the water >:( The Strega del Mare Lamasalmastra's share respawn points with the Cacciatore delle Maree Lamasalmastra's and Mirmidone Lamasalmastra's as well. If you are farming these for Spallacci Azzurri and are impatient, you can buy exact matching shoulders off the auction house(if your server has them) which are Coprispalle dell'Invocapioggia.

Yap pain to farm if u don't have a Druid :P. I Tested myself this technic whit a Druid .Moonfire all Siltherblade to force spawn Strega del Mare Lamasalmastra witch drop at 7% .More u Kill more they spawn quick and more u hope to get that ((sea Witch )).

Just Went to farm these reading other comments and was ready for a grind

used a /tar macro for ONLY the Sea witch got 2 scales in 5 Kills Scale currently going for 5k/ea on my server mite be worth a farm?

Go to /way 30, 8 Desolace

Enable "track focus target" on the magnifying glass next to your mini-map.

Make a macro "/target Slitherblade Sea Witch"

When you find one click set focus. (there's probably a macro for this to)

Fly over the surface and land above it, if you can, taunt it, rather than swim down to it. Obviously the naga swims faster to you than you to her.

Kill all other nagas you see as well (no need to loot them) it helps with respawns.

Kill Slitherblade Sea Witches around Ranazjar Isle in Desolace. This is the smaller of the two islands. If you have a taunt or something that functions as a taunt you can avoid a lot of swimming. Kill all the Naga to get the respawned Sea Witches. Yes, the drop rate is low. 10% seems very unlikely based on my long, tedious grind for 2 scales.

Things that made this easier for me:
-Made a macro: /target Slitherblade Sea Witch
-Flying Mount (To find Slitherblade Sea Witch by spamming the macro)
-Used Fathom Dweller (Underwater Mount)

Took me less than 10 minutes to get the two Naga Scales.

Got one today, from Lady Zephris, tried around 30 min in Desolace, around the Seawitch island but with no luck, before I went to Hillsbrad.
