It definitely still drops. Got it today on my 59th run. Along the way, I've picked up two Craftsman's Monocle recipes and a few green recipes, all from Thermaplugg. Still trying for the Flame Deflector recipe. You definitely want to grind this from the back entrance. Even with no speed boosts at all, I hit the 5-instance limit at around 50 minutes, so there's a nice built-in break timer.

Update: Got the Flame Deflector recipe today on my 182nd run. FINALLY done with Gnomeregan. Got another Flash Bomb recipe on 136th run, another on 141st, and another around 150. See my post on the Flame Deflector recipe for updated farming tips. Good hunting.

I can confirm that as of about 245 am today this recipe does still drop.

This just dropped for me while leveling my priest with a random LFD group. (2014-08-20) Never seen it before but I didn't think much about it when i won it with a greed roll. Looked it up here a few hours later and noticed the rarity. Posted it on AH for 7.5k now to see if it sells.

Used to be a quest reward back in the days,players just needed engineering for it but they could sell it afterwards.Just imagine keeping it in your bank(unlikely one had the skill to learn it at the time of doing the quest) and because you wanted to learn a different profession afterwards you forgot about it for a couple of years then finding it burried deep inside your bank.

Unfortunately that didn't happen to me.

For those doubting the existence of this schematic, it still drops. A GM confirmed it for me, and, after some time, it has finally dropped for me on the 302nd run of the place.

Got tonnes of other stuff along the way - basically all other engineering schematics, 4 drops of Schema: Deflettore di Fiamme, heaps of BoE blues and lots of gold from selling it all. Also got three Alliance factions to exalted along the way, ha.
