I found Mr. Grubbs contained inside a Hidden Stash that dropped off of a Carrion Grubb in Eastern Plaguelands. To see the Hidden Stash drops you need to have Fiona's Lucky Charm active; available after you complete the quest of the same name Fiona's Lucky Charm.

I got Mr. Grubbs again on a different toon. This time from a Hidden Stash that dropped from a Wretched Ranger, so I can confirm that it can come from a Hidden Stash that drops from any EPL mob.

The lucky charm buff has no duration. It will stay with you as long as you ar ein teh zone. It does not work in Strat but when you leave the instance it shows back up.

Confirmed drops out of Hidden Stash.
Hidden Stash bags are random drops from any mob when you have Fiona's Lucky Charm buff.

Not a 100% drop either from the bags took me about 50 - 100 bags i'd say while doing the quests over there I got mine off a Blighthound.

This pet is definitely worth the farm.
If you want one of your own, here is what you'll want to do.

First, fly to Eastern Plaguelands. You'll want to hit the point closest to the western border.
There will be a female Worgen named Fiona nearby.
She will have two quests for you. Gidwin Goldbraids and Tarenar Sunstrike.
You will have to find those two NPCs (in-game quest helper will pinpoint locations) and complete their quests.

Once you have finished that, a new quest will open up with Fiona. You DO NOT have to do this quest.
Instead, head over to her caravan, which should have a blue question mark hovering over it.
Of the three quests it offers, choose Fiona's Lucky Charm.
This quest will give you a buff that stays on you until you leave Eastern Plaguelands.

You are now set to farm this beauty!

My suggestion is to veer off the road and kill EVERYTHING you can on the way to Corin's Crossing.
Once there, firmly plant yourself in this small town. Everything, and I mean absolutely everything in this town can drop a Hidden Stash.
The respawn timer is extremely fast. I could never wipe the entire town out. There will ALWAYS be mobs to kill if you are by yourself.

I didn't count kills or use an addon, but it seemed to me that the Hidden Stash had a drop chance of about 10% and it took 26 of them for me to find the pet.

If you want to AoE grind for Scorte Nascoste (for Ser Vermino), you should head to Zul'Mashar. There are tons of graves which spawn trolls. Lots of easy kills.

Terrordale was not a bad place to farm. The Plague swine respawn times are very fast. I took turns killing everything around the lower set of buildings. I could usually make a pass twice around both buildings, then I would move to the upper set of buildings. By the time I finished up top the swine had respawned on the bottom. RInse and repeat. Was a non stop kill fest. Unfortunately my luck wasn't as good as others and I farmed for over 2 hours. I had close to 80-100 bags before mine dropped.

After an hour or two of grub/devourer farming I came here and followed Hashupa's advice.
An hour or so later I finally got it. (I've been having terrible luck with pets lately D: )
Respawns are pretty decent if you start at one end and work your way down to the other,
including inside buildings and surrounding area.

edit: No joke about the flips by the way.. he's awesome!

Used a path going from Corin's Crossing to the Ruins of Scarlet Enclave killing anything that moved. Great area with quick respawn's and low traffic. Found my Mr. Grubbs in Bag 40.

Complete luck obviously. Like any RNG item it could take you 2 minutes or up to a few hours. Grab the buff (get the charm) from Fiona's caravan after you have completed her quests and hack away where ever there are mobs in the Eastern Plaguelands. (Corin Crossroads are Zul'Masher seem to be the best place in terms of mobs) It'll drop from a hidden stash bag that you pick up eventually so keep at it. Mark my words it's a pretty neat little pet who does a back flip when you go idle. Go at it and good luck to all. :)

I was obscenely lucky with this little guy. Took longer to get the quests done than find the little guy. Shame he's not tradeable though, or I would farm a bit more to make a few (thousand) gold.

Am I the only one who farmed for a couple hours at the Zul' Mashar place and still haven't gotten it? I'm getting so many bags but no pets dropping :(

Took me 45 minutes of farming mobs, and 27 hidden stashes. The stashes appeared to have a drop rate of approx. 1 in 20 mobs, perhaps slightly less. I stuck to Zul'Masher, as Corin Crossroads was crawling with people also trying for this pet....and Zul'Masher was empty except for me and many, many troll NPCS. Really, any area in the zone will do, as the stash seems to drop from most any mob type.

All I can say, get ready for pain.

Took me 1.5 hours and 40 stashes to find it. That old city close to the center filled with undeads is the perfect place as you can kill one mob after the other non stop.

If farming this and using Loot Filter to auto remove the ooze grey make sure you put the name in your Name Keep list.

I was farming to the left of the road between Lights Hope Chapel and Corin's Crossing as that has a VERY high concentration of both mobs (they seem to share spawn spots).

Update:
Upon emptying my bags whilst waiting for a GM ticket I found 2 more Hidden Stash's. 1 contained a second .

Update 2:
My wife and daughter who also play were farming for this. My wife got it on a Devourer, however my daughter got it from a Hidden Stash from a Plaguehound.

People feeling unlucky about drops? RNG... This is how it went for me, I farmed about 60-70 bags in 2-3 hours, not a single pet :(, in 10 min i got 5 more bags, opened them all and in 2/5 bags I got the pet. So random I can't belive it, too bad I can't sell the other.

The 5 bags were all from Zul'mashar, while the others were from all over EP, probably from every npc type since i got them while doing the quest achievement.

When you have the buff, you get the hidden stash bags off anything you kill in the zone. I've gotten several bags off non grub mobs while questing and I just got a second Mr. Grubbs off of a Scourge Champion in the Fungal Vale and a third off a Mossflayer Shadowhunter at Zul'Mashar.

So your best bet is to either kill everything you see or after getting the buff, just quest away and you'll likely get it.

Well I've been fairly lucky farming pets, but NOT with this one. I'm probably at about 60-70 bags and no grub. Just thought I'd put that out there in case anyone else is feeling unlucky. It seems like people mostly post when they get lucky.

Source: This pet is contained in a Hidden Stash which can be dropped by many creatures in Eastern Plaguelands after starting the quest Fiona's Lucky Charm.

How to get it
Before you can farm for this pet at all, you must first complete the quests given by Fiona, a worgen questgiver in Eastern Plaguelands on the western border. After completing her quests, she will offer some new quests, one of which being a repeatable one called Fiona's Lucky Charm.

Select this quest and you will receive a buff that will exist on you through death until you exit the zone. With this buff you will be able to kill creatures in the Eastern Plaguelands to get a lootable bag which will contain the pet. Not enough looting data has been collected to accurately peg the drop rate of this pet, however it is estimated that it could take several hundred creatures before the bag pops up.

Would just like to add my own comment. Definitly worth the grind to get, but (unless your just really lucky) it will take some time. Roughly 3 hours and doing several places when I finally got it off a Carrion Grub. While I was doing this, was keeping track of what dropped bags. Went to Corins, ZM, just about everywhere. Humanoids (like the trolls of ZM) seem to have the lowest drop rate of bags. Undead (like in Corins Crossing) are around the 2nd. And Beast (Grubs, bats, hounds) seem to have the highest drop rate of the bag. Off of what I gathered there, I farmed the spot just south of LHC where there are tons of Grubs and Devourers. If your by yourself, you'll never run out of grubs to kill. Best of luck and hope this lil bit of information helped.

This is definatly not 100% drop rate as shown by wowhead atm, I spent 2-3 hours farming the bags yesterday and didnt see it once.
Came back today and it dropped off the 4th mob I killed, so its not as rare as say the Oozling pet is/was but it could take some time. So it might be best to just quest in the zone normaly and just wait for it to drop.

Hell, i got mine in less then a hour(of grind time, i did BGs and %^&* in the middle). I wind up geting 2 stashs, one mob after anouther, and geting 2 mr grubbs. the only thing that sucks with this is that it's BoP, so i can't sell it, :(

So, the pet can only come from the bags that drop from Grubs? or has it been proven to come from bags that drop from any mob?

For example, the crock pets only drop if the Shat fishing daily is Crocolisks in the city, even though the bag they're in, looks like the same as the other daily rewards, but actually isn't?. Is it a situation like that?

I set out to get Mr. Grubbs today and I guess I was one of the lucky few. As I was leaving lights hope I killed 2 mobs one contained a bag but only money, killed 3 more mobs and on the last guy a bag dropped with Mr. Grubbs =) I now have all of the new pets I am very happy!

Mr. Grubbs is a companion, you get him from by having the buff from Fiona's Caravan -while slaying mobs and looting them, they will then drop the Hidden Stash bag. Works only in Eastern Plaguelands.

Mr. Grubbs will do a occasional somersault over you, it's awesome!

I definitely suggest Zul'Mashar farming for this.

So true. In addition to the wandering trolls (and there are plenty of those), there are several groups of 3 or more dirt mounds that spawn zombie trolls when disturbed, and one MASSIVE group of mounds/zombies right in the middle of the area. This is by FAR the best place in the zone to farm this pet, assuming no one else is around.

And if you see a lowbie questing up there, be polite and invite them so they can get credit for the kills. You won't have to worry about group loot either, because unless the lowbie has Fiona's Lucky Charm, they can't see the hidden stash, and you can loot them off of any mob, even if the main loot on the mob isn't yours.

It took like 2 hours but I finally got it!

Kinda mad at myself, I would wait till i got a bag full of hidden stashes, then open them all. Finally I open like the 3rd in the bag and get Mr. Grubbs - then the 5th one ALSO has a Mr. Grubbs. Uggh.

I was out in EPL questing on a new hunter. Didn't even know this pet existed. I had Fiona's Lucky Charm buff up the whole time and had been dutifully looting the stashes. I was just clearing up the Tyr's Hand quests when I opened a Hidden Stash and found...Wow. The "leash" looks like some nasty furry brown turd. Had no idea what I was going to end up with, but the thing's BoP so I learned it.
The new baby grub I have is, uh...Special.
He does leaps for you over your head.
Kinda creepy, but...I love pets. And a pet worm suits an undead just fine. heh

So I guess I wasn't quite as lucky as everyone else. :) I tried Zul'Mashar for a while, but when it got crowded, I left. In all I went through the graves about 8 or 9 times total with no luck. I also randomly killed a lot of other things. I finally decided to just do all the quests in EPL I could and see if it dropped like that. I finally got it to drop after I earned the achievement for doing 70 EPL quests (yep, that's how long I was there!). On the plus side, I also got killed around Corin's Crossing by Deathwing, so I don't consider the day a bust. It was just a long sort of grinding day. I finally got Mr. Grubbs from a Scarlet Praetorian in Tyr's Hand, in the Cathedral. I have no idea how many bags I got during the whole grind before I got to Mr. Grubbs, but I can tell you it was a LOT. :) In all, I think was farming about 4 or 5 hours, looting everything. I can also confirm that nothing but copper or silver drops in those bags, ever, except Mr. Grubbs. Happy hunting and good luck everyone! Don't give up! :)

I got this little guy quite fast.

First, I flew up to Zul'Mashar, opened all of the central graves, AoE'd all of the zombies down, and got 4 bags from that. The third one contained the pet.

After only 20 minutes of farming at Plaguewood Reanimator spawns in south Plaguewood of EPL, I've got my Mr. Grubbs.

It must have taken me only 15 minutes. Farmed with shadow priest level 81, using shadow word: pain.

I got lucky and Mr. Grubbs dropped from my first Hidden Stash. However, it did drop from a Plaguebat, so it's not necessary to farm carrion grubs. Happy hunting!

After 2 hours of my journey farming the bags on WP i found a very usefull comment somewhere. Zul'Mashar is the best place to farm this. And if you have aoe your lucky. For this drop you need Fiona's buff. Good thing now you dont have to complete any quest in order to find her. Just go into the mini map and youll see where is she. Took me around 200 bags for the drop. But the thing is, (i never beleive in drop rates) u gotta be very patient. Cause killing trolls can be very annoying. That place is very recommended for farming this pet, since they spawn very fast plus if Mageweave is spensive on your server you can get several gold by getting them. (I almost quit, but the time is WORTH) i love it. is nasty but is cute. At least on my server, is very very rare.

Not sure if I was super lucky (which is usually not the case!) but I got the pet just killing mobs while questing in EPL. I had intended to wrap up my quests and then go farming for it if it hadn't dropped, but I found it fairly early on. As I continued questing, I still had the Lucky Charm buff and continued getting sacks. Lo and behold, a second Mr Grubbs is found. It's a shame they are soulbound.

MAKE SURE YOU DO THE QUESTS FOR FIONA FIRST AND GET HER LUCKY CHARM BEFORE ANYTHING! She starts out on the bridge between eastern and western. I went to lights hope then went upwards killing the ghosts and zombies. whole processes for me took 2 hours.

I got this as level 85 working towards Loremaster. If you haven't got your Quest Achievement there yet, just quest. Took me a few hours with mining aswell in between and I got my Eastern Plaguelands Quests, Full Caravan, Explorer achievements AND Mr. Grubbs. Almost vendored him as didn't even realise what it was! Definitely the way to go if you haven't yet quested in this zone.

Found Mr. Grubbs in a Hidden Stash while doing the quest line Uccidere per uno scopo, funny thing was I hadn't even noticed that I had gotten him when I opened a bag just kept on killing stuff when all of the sudden I opened my bags to see if I was getting more Living Rot for the quest. I then noticed that I saw some icon thinking it was Coagulated Rot that I was supposed to make for the quest. So I hovered over it and noticed that it said Mr. Grubbs I was like :O and so I learned him and am now happy. Funny how I wasn't really looking for him and hadn't even noticed he was in my bag until after a while. What I learned from this though... check your bags lol never know he might just pop in there by surprise. Good luck everyone else trying to find him!

I can confirm that it is possible to loot more than one Mr Grubbs on the same character. Got my second while questing on my toon only ten minutes after I looted the first. One dropped from a Carrion Grub and the second from a Scarlet Curate. Just wish I had the same luck with Zin'rokh :P

"It followed me home, Mom." I was cleaning out my rogue's bags in the bank last night ( Feb 1, 2011) and found this in my packs. She's a level 43 wending her way through Fiona's caravan. She had the lucky rabbit foot and had already moved two passengers to the first tower. The grub was acquired doing normal questing (bats, hounds, etc.).

I suspect the only prerequisites are to have the lucky charm clicked and to kill and loot something. The rest is a numbers game.

--ETA - was running a mage through the area and she also got Mr. Grubbs. I think they nerfed the drop rate, because she got it pretty quickly, given that I had her on Fiona's questline for 4 of the characters.

Just got this adorable little guy today. I think i may have got him off either borelgore or one of Ix'lars lackeys. I get killed by Deathwing, get ridiculous amounts of life root and get this little guy? EP is like an ugly unicorn that periodically poops solid gold eggs :)

As for the 'who drops the bag with Mr.grubbs?' I think it may be possible to get him off anyone in EP but the grubs obviously drop him ore often.

I farmed about 25 minutes... level 85 so they went down pretty fast... there was same time waiting on respawns. I did indeed find him at Zul'Mashar. Took me 25 minutes to get Mr Grubbs, then I got 3 of them with in a two minute period.... so yeah... now I have two extra Mr Grubbs pets to vendor :P

Didn't know about the pet, was doing the quest chain and had taken the lucky charm. Got to the first tower and started the quest to kill plague bats, a higgen stash dropped with the pet inside, What a nice surprise :)

I just got this after 34 drops, I recommend questing with the buff on, this way you do not get sick of farming. Also, farming for the pet will get you a lot of Mageweave Cloth, I got about 160 and half of that in Silk.

I did take ppl's advice and go to Zul'Mashar and once there i killed all graves and looted about 6 Hidden Stashes and i was quite lucky and when i was looting for the stashes i can across the BoE lvl 40 epics Boots Of Avoidance. i then went to do some archaeology then went back to Zul'Mashar and looted another 4 bags and got it in the 3rd bag so i looted about 10 bags and got a BoE epic AND the pet it is really worth it the pet is cool and i think it does do some backflips im not sure

I picked up Mr. Grubbs back before 4.06 hit. It was quite a grind. I came back through this zone to finish up the quests today and Mr. Grubbs started dropping at a much higher rate. I ended up with 4 or 5 Mr. Grubbs having killed only about 30 mobs. I think they increased the drop rate. Long live Mr. Grubbs!

...almost immediately upon beginning to quest through the zone, it specifically states that the more people you add to Fiona's Caravan, the 'stronger' the buffs get. In this case, the chance to drop the Hidden Stash is increased the more people you have in the caravan.

Where exactly does it say that in the quests? I just went around and did the pre-reqs to get the buff on a few toons to get Mr. Grubbs and in none of he quests does it say that the more people you add to the caravan the "stronger" the buff is. On my mage I followed your advice and got it in 20 minutes. On my hunter, death knight, and warrior I skipped your advice and got it in the same amount of time >___>

Here and here are the beginning quest chains. Check the wowhead quest text, nowhere does it say it improves the buff.

TL;DR for people reading: Skip doing ALL questing in EPL, just do the basic ones up to Onward, to Light's Hope Chapel, head to Zul'Mashar and farm the Infected Mossflayers.

I never knew the chance got higher when you have more people in the caravan.
I got my Mr.Grubbs on my worgen druid yesterday with I believe only Fiona, Tarenar, Gidwin and Argus on the caravan.

I'd like to put my hat in with the people who have the theory that the more people in your caravan, the stronger the buff. I got my Mr. Grubbs on my second or third kill with a full Caravan after doing Loremaster. While finishing up some quests, I got a second Mr. Grubbs almost straight away.

A friend of mine was complaining about the drop rate a few days prior, and he had done the bare minimum.

I took my GF out to get it the other night with the bare minimum, and we were having no luck whatsoever with Stashes or Grubbs.

Now, obviously, with or without a stronger buff -- RNG is RNG. So you'll still have horror stories, and success stories. But like others, it's my belief that having more people will help you out. Worst case scenario -- you waste an hour doing questing. If you're going to have bad luck with the drop though, an hour questing is nothing.

I was one pet short from this achievement, so I figured I'd farm Mr. Grubbs since I had finished the required quests a while back. Got it on the first stash dropped, I felt pretty lucky and I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not you have the 'Full Caravan' buff.

Farmed this pet with a friend yesterday, for his 100-pet achievement. Did all the quests that led up to it (starting at the caravan by the river in EPL, then the two "side" quests and their respective "chains," until we got the Lucky Charm buff).

He killed ~6 worms, got a Hidden Stash off of a Carrion Devourer near Corin's Crossing (IIRC), and this minipet promptly dropped from that first bag.

On the other hand, I farmed worms for around 5 hours (~3 hours last night, and about ~2 hours this morning), pulling around 5 at a time with SW:P, received around 40-50 Hidden Stashes, and finally received the pet around 10am this morning.

If you're going to farm the worms, I suggest farming in the triangular area between Crown Guard Tower, Eastwall Tower, and out to the land a little east of Corin's Crossing. It's almost all worms and they're packed close together.

Got Mr. Grubbs this evening. Was in the 6 or 7th stash bag. Don't know if it matters, but I did Fiona's quest line all the way up just short of turning in the final quest to get the highest buff bonus. Going for 125 pet achieve. Mr. Grubbs make #106!

Get Fiona's Lucky Charm (from Light's Hope Chapel) if you've done the quest chain, then farm trash in Corin's Crossing for Hidden Stash. Any trash will drop these. Literally took 15 minutes of farming for pet to drop (after looting 6 stashes).

This little guy is absolutely hysterical.

As you know, his special animation is that he does little flips. Well, there's nothing like reading some sombre quest text from some sobbing NPC explaining how some scoundrel abducted his wife, stole his dawg, and made off with his pick-up truck with his ill-gotten booty . . . just to see Mr. Grubbs go flying past your screen.

When I had done the quest for the lucky charm, the first worm I killed gave me this pet. I realise it is very rare now when I read all the stories of people spending hours of searching for this companion. I just got him yesterday, and he is absolutely awesome :D

I'm going to go with elainwe on this and say it has a 1.5% drop chance for Ser Vermino since we have other comments that vary between 1.2% and 1.7%

I'm currently grinding in the location suggested by Hashupa: "Corin's Crossing" - I'll update with stats whenever I get grubbs. :)

While Corrings Crossing is a good place to farm for the bag i just wanted to add that the area just SE off Fiona (her first position with her caravan) is also a good place to farm. there are grps off 3 mobs there and they also respawn pretty fast. As a hunter its just Aspect of Cheetah and Multishot your way around the area.

A little bit unlucky i am but i got the pet atlast. after a mere number off bags.... 97 to be excact but it finnally showed up in my bag :)

I completed every quest in Eastern plaguelands and I still hadn't received a Mr. Grubbs pet. I then went to Zul'Masar and farmed the graves in front of the temple. You can easily have 20 mobs at once and it allows for very quick farming.

Farmed a month or two with about 3 hours a day and never got it. Went to Zul'Masar and killed about 8 mobs, 4 of which dropped a bag, 4th bag had him in it! =D

I was farming the quests for Loremaster with Amuleto fortunato di Fiona, while completing a quest at the Siege Vise, I looted my 21st, 22nd and 23rd Scorte Nascoste from Ingegnere d'Assedio del Flagello - co-ords 56/19.

I opened the 21st bag and:

I then finished up my quests and left the zone, later I was clearing bags and noticed I had 2 Scorte Nascoste that I didn't open, so I opened them and got:

I had to vendor the other two, I had tried farming this in the past with hundreds of kills under my belt, and I finally got lucky. Definitely worth farming as it will drop sooner or later :)

Was farming in Zul'mashar for ages with no luck, decided to try Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave, the mobs are more spread out but dropped more Hidden Stash bags (maybe 30% of my kills) I got Mr. Grubbs after about 15 min. (along with 4 greens and lots of cloth)

I'd like to note that this is not the only place Mr. Grubs can be obtained. I also got him from the slimy bag that the large carrion maggots have a chance to drop. Ironically, one dropped a slimy bag and a hidden stash for my rogue, and BOTH contained Mr. Grubbs! Lucky me!

Farming for Ser Vermino under the effect of Amuleto Fortunato di Fiona, I killed 257 Raschiamuschio Infettos, and got 22 Scorte Nascoste, for a drop rate of 8.6%. That's of course a much smaller sample pool than wowhead has, and the drop rate for all npcs may not be the same, but wowhead stats presumably include kills without the buff, so I wanted a controlled (if small) experiment.

As for how often those stashes contain what you want, I can't judge from personal experience. I stopped once I got my first Mr. Grubbs - for even rough statistics I would have to keep going 'till I had 10, which would take forever. However as others did last year, we may be able to extrapolate from wowhead stats. As of this date wowhead has seen Scorte Nascoste drop 319319 times, and has seen Ser Vermino drop 5760 times, so maybe 1.8% of the time it's a good stash.

It took me maybe 10 minutes of farming in Plaguewood. There was lots of stuff to kill but only had to kill a handful of things to get a bag. I think it is more luck then anything.

I farmed this for about an hour with my death knight. I was opening each bag as soon as I picked it up. At one point I realized I had two bags in my inventory and opened them both up.... and the pet was there!

I tried this again on my shaman about a month later. I farmed for about an hour with no luck. Then I decided to try farming until I had two bags in my inventory... and I guess it worked! There was Mr. Grubbs again!

Has anyone else noticed that when farming the Carrion Grubs in EPL, there is one that will move a lot faster than the rest, kill it and inside the Hidden Stash is Mr Grubbs, twice I have had this occur, can anyone else confirm my suspicions?

Key things to remember when farming this pet: -

1) Make sure you have the buff from Fionas caravan "Fiona's Lucky Charm" you get this by taking the top option when talking to the caravan.
2) Mr. Grubbs is contained ONLY in the "Hidden Stash" and not in the "Scum Covered Bag"

The drop rate seems much higher than suggested as mine was in the 20th or so Hidden Stash bag that dropped for me.

Made a little circle in the areas NE of Corins Crossing (between the two roads and the lake), and hadn't even made a second circle by the time Mr. Grubbs dropped. Maybe 6 or 8 loot bags total... This has got to be Blizz feeling bad for my lack of getting any other farming pet unless it comes off the AH. =/

Just make sure you have the 'lucky buff'.

I opened him on bag number 13. I wasn't paying attention to the time, but it wasn't long. But to get the bag (and the pet) you need Fiona's Lucky Charm. You have to do few quests to have the charm on you. When you get all that done you need to go to Zul'Mashar. In the "middle" of the place there are these graves that can drop the Bags. Round them up, loot them and you got it!

Good lucking farming, easy to do and takes less that 15minue (if you are lucky)

It took me about 37 bags to get him and almost two hours farming. Once I moved to Zul,Mashar I started to get more bags. Pretty easy farm compared to other rare pets.

Got him on the 3rd-4th bag whilst in Tyr's Hand from a Scarlet Enchanter.

I farmed for a few hours (spread out over two or three days), and after having no luck I decided to at least finish the caravan quests in the zone. After turning in the last quest in the chain, I accepted the "Gathering Some Grub(s)" quest and killed lots of carrion grubs to the south of Light's Hope, and I continued killing even after I'd gotten all the meat. My 94th bag turned out to be the one holding this little guy =) Hang in there, it will drop!

Zul'Mashar is a brilliant place to farm, every time i killed everything and looted it, i kept 5 bags till i opened them(im too impatient), and i went and made a brew while they respawned, took me an hour or 2 without even realising it! Brilliant farm and definately worth the hassle of the chain quest given by Fiona (who begins at path leading into eastern plaguelands from western plaguelands) - Cheers, Grooved.

I farmed for the bags as a 85 Hunter in both Zul'Mashar and Corrin's Crossing and found that, overall, the drop rate was pretty much the same. There are reasons to pick one over the other, though.

Zul'Mashar
Pros: Grave sites make AoE farming easy; lots of silk and mageweave
Cons: Non-grave mobs are spaced out; terrain requires a lot of flying if you want to get anywhere fast; mobs drop lots of vendor trash

Corrin's Crossing
Pros: Mobs are pretty densely packed in the town; mobs drop very little vendor trash
Cons: Harder to AoE farm; going inside buildings can slow farming speed

I didn't really keep track, but I farmed for about 2 hours (half at Zul'Mashar and half at the Crossing) and opened maybe 40-50 bags before I got it. Picked up ~10g worth of silver along with ~12 stacks of mageweave and ~6 stacks of silk, plus a load of greys, greens, and a blue trinket.

For hunters, I advise that you dismiss your pet while farming. If your pet kills a mob by itself (which it will if it attacks anything, since an 85 will one-shot all these mobs), you won't be able to loot it.

This is going to sound really stupid.

It took me a long time to finally start looting the hidden stash. I started out farming the shadowmages but they wouldn't give me anything. So I flew out to Plaguewood, and finally got a hidden stash off of one of the abominations and of course, when I first opened it there wasn't anything in it but garbage.

I read another comment on here about someone having two stashes in their bag and in the second one they picked up finding Mr. Grubbs, and this happening for them twice. I tried it out, collected two of them and then opened them.

Lo and behold, I find Mr. Grubbs in the second stash.

It really only took me about 45 minutes of farming, and picked him up in my third stash. Not bad at all.

I spent the last 2 hours questing and collecting The Hidden Stash bags. I have the full caravan and Fiona's Lucky Charm. I must have opened at least 40 Hidden Stash bags and no pet, only a few silver in each.

Ok, i did the 4 quests before i could get the buff. After i went to Zul'Mashar and pulled the large pile of zombies in the middle and one small one. I got about 7 bags from all of that, took me 30 seconds because of the running and AOE loot. I got 2 Mr.Grubbs from those 7 bags in 30 seconds.

I did continue farming after i had gotten these 2, for an additional 19:30 mins and had not gotten another pet.

I must say Zul'Mashar was the best and fastest farming spot due to the graves and mobs that hung around in clusters. After 24 bags (which was maybe around 60-70 mob kills) Mr. Grubbes dropped TWICE. Short and sweet!

FYI, if you get multiple Mr. Grubbs, you can Cage the extras and sell it on AH. It drops from an obscure quest buff that requires farming, so it sells pretty well.

I don't know if the droprate for this pet has been nerfed at all, but I've found him about three times in the past half hour while farming cloth.
The Mossflayer Trolls in Undercroft seem to be good at dropping the little bugger.

As of this patch, it's relatively easy to find Ser Vermino after doing the pre-quests for Fiona and going through most of the caravan questline with Amuleto Fortunato di Fiona. (starts with this quest: Tarenar Sferzasole) Ideally you want to complete all the way up to the final tower as it apparently improves the loot finding buff to have more allies join the caravan. Seems to be true. My third one just dropped while questing normally after finishing the final leg of the journey. Zul'Masher is an easy place to aoe farm if you're not interested in the other quests. Just keep farming Scorte Nascoste until he shows up :) Love his random backflip across the screen while I'm at the AH lol.

Now that pets are able to battle, I decided to pick him up! Did the quests, hung out in Coren's Crossing and cleared that... went up to Zul'Mashar and cleared that a time or two... Then I went down to Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave and started clearing buildings. Finally dropped in a goodie bag, probably 20-30ish bag overall. I'm glad he's a Rare pet because that would have been disappointing to get an Uncommon after all that time! :)

Some good info -
Everything in the Eastern Plaguelands I could find drops the bags once you have the buffs. Animals, undead, carrion crawlers, zombies, plague bats - though it seemed to me that Segugio Infetto and Divoratore Carogna seemed to drop more bags than other stuff. It was probably just me, I don't have the math behind it.

The mobs are easy pulls and this little pet was a pretty small investment of time. I leveled using the LFD and pet battled a few other companions a level or two.

The best place to farm for this is where the Infected Mossflayers are at Zul´mashar. Just walk over the graves and AoE them all down and they respawn quickly. They also seem to drop the bags much more often which is great. The strange thing however is that with a few hours of farming at every other zone in Eastern Plaugelands I didn´t even get one Mr. Grubbs, but here I got 5 within half an hour.

So in my opinion this would be the best place to farm for one.

You all have to remember it's a world drop so IT WONT BE THE SAME FOR EVERYONE.
I didn't even know about this pet, I just got all the lucky charms from Fiona and followed the regular quests as they came, If you hunt just for it could be really annoying cause you are even counting your steps and kills. Do as quests give you... Mine was found in Lake Mareldar, I happened to do the quest of picking up snails and fish and stuff from the bottom of the mentioned lake and it appeared from no where. As for stash bags I had like 8 until I found it. Just don't give up and good luck!

Okay, are you freakin kidding me. Activated the lucky charm, caravan was full, all quests finished in the zone. Now i start farming with this abysmally low dropchance, despite the 10-12% droprate i usually get 1 out of every 4-5 mob group/pull. So that means 4,5 * 5 = 25 mobs for 1 bag to drop approximately. But this is not the problem.
The problem is after a few hours of farming, i looted i think 10-11 bags at very least. And when i opened them there was no pet at all. Most of them only had some silver coins, others random cheap craft materials etc. And the wowhead says it has around 40% droprate. WHAT? 40% and i cant find it after 11 tries? That would make me astronomically unlucky.
Srsly these are freakin annoying BS.
