Just dropped for me from a Jaspertip Borer in Deepholm. JC is only 477 and the "Required Restoration" text is red to me (though I could still accept and finish the quest).

This item begins a quest as stated. All you need to do is get the necessary items, from AH - friends or build them your self. Repair is not cheap but you will have a working trinket. I assume trinket morphs for each class.

IMPORTANT: if you use a custom UI you may NOT see the complete quest button on your screen. If you are going crazy turn of all addons reload ui and complete the quest. Then you can return to your normal mode of operation!

This is currently bugged and will not drop if your character is 85.

There is also apparently a work around which involves grouping with a sub 85 JC : http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1406226700

This has been fixed and these are now dropping for 85 characters.

Dropped for me from an Alliance (lvl 85) mob in Slagworks, at level 85 on my Paladin. I recieved the King of Boars and Earthen Guardian from mobs inside The Hole in Tol Barad earlier on. They seem to be rather rare, but they do drop. I had been farming lower level mobs, so I don't know if it is due to the level of the mobs or because I had a ticket in complaining and a GM did something.

Sadly I was looking for the spirit version.

Dropped for me today from a level 85 elite Schnottz Elite Trouper on my level 85 paladin with 500 jewelcrafting skill, and I was on my own and able to loot it.

Finally looted it off of a Stone Trogg Digger at Stonehearth in Deepholm. Tried farming at the Masters' Gate for about 30 minutes without any drops, could have just been bad luck though.

In the past, if you wanted a special item you usually needed to farm a particular zone for it endlessly. Wouldn't it have been nice if you could have farmed level- appropriate zones instead? This appears to be the new paradigm, at least for broken figurines. After my 83 JC failed for several hours farming in Deepholm, I recalled that my 80 JC (paladin) got three broken figurines in Vash'jir and my 82 JC (warlock) got one in Deepholm. My 83 JC (shaman) moved to Uldum, and now has two figurines.

Precisely, my theory is that this figurine is most likely to drop from mobs that are your level or higher.

Some more evidence for my theory:

For a while this figurine didn't drop at all for level 85s (and then the bug was hotfixed). Thus we know that the drop depends somehow on your level.
TomBoj (120 – 1) on 2011/05/02 (Patch 4.1.0) reports that the figurine didn't drop for him off of 90 level 82 mobs, but when he switched to level 83 mobs it dropped off of the 5th one.
A lot of people have reported that the figurine dropped when they were questing. Quest mobs are often the same level as the player.
AzagthothEUwow on 2010/12/22 (Patch 4.0.3) reports that the figurine didn't drop while he was doing Cata Loremaster. That is strong evidence it doesn't drop off of random quest mobs.

This is anecdotal, but hopefully will be helpful for somebody.

I have been 85 and had 475 JC for several days now, with no trinket drops at all. Today I headed back to Uldum to continue questing, and in the first 10 mob kills I had the Serpent drop. After a detour to Org to complete the quest, another 10 mobs garnered the Owl drop. Note that this occurred while killing quest mobs. I have seen suggestions elsewhere that there is a higher chance of these dropping while killing mobs for a quest, and just based on my experience that seems to be the case.

Note that I did between 10 and 20 daily quests, several of which were kill quests, during the time I was at 475 and got no trinket drops during any of them.

Magelo has this at a 5% droprate on Deepstone Elementals. I started farming them and sure enough I got one within 5 minutes.

This dropped for me on an undead NPC while doing the Tol Barad Daily "Salvaging the Remains".
The npc's are "Forgotten Ghoul" and "Wandering Soul". I started farming TB dailies when someone whispered me that he and a few people from his guild had the JC quest item drop on the first handful of daily-quest mobs.

I'm fairly certain that this is a random world drop, but to anyone who is farming for this trinket.. you may want to head to Tol Barad first. I got this on my second day.

Took advice from the guy that said go to Deepholm and kill the Deepstone Elementals. Dropped on the 5th mob I killed. I suggest trying there they are fairly easy to kill.

My level 83 paladin got this off a Giblin Plunderer about five minutes after starting the Vashj'ir quests. Don't see that in the "Dropped by" list, and I thought it was odd since it requires Elementium to complete the quest. Awfully nice trinket though.

An Interesting thing I found out about this quest item is, the quest item disappears if you respec out of the talents that allow you to use it.

I use to be Enhancement for PvE and Elemental for PvE but now I'm both Enhancement. And the quest item which was in my bank disappeared right after I learned my skills ( not 100% happened then or when I went to the trainer) but when I got back to my bank, the quest item was gone.

I just picked this up from Gilblingle on my 78 Tankadin, of coarse I'm looking for the tank trinket but the xp will be good and it confirms it will drop at 78. Plus this mob drops a quest starter that is also doable at 78, Il bottino di Pinnanera. JC is at 500.

I was farming the Deepstone elementals for about 45 mins, killed over 90 and got nothing.
So instead I went to the crimson expanse in Deepholm, set Therezane as "At War", killed about 5 Tempermental Rumblers and got the drop. By the way, you do not lose any rep with Therezane when you kill them, and straight after you get the drop you can just un-tick "At War" and its all good

glad so many had luck in deepholm..ive been there for ever farming and also going to other places and no such luck there..i highly doubt there is a higher rate off any one mob then the next some people are lucky is all

Now i finally got the trinket on my druid.

Farmed in deepholm first. Spent over 4hours there. Not one single drop. Gave up and went to bed.

Today when I wake up i go to Uldum and do some quests. Got the trinket from a Riverbed Crocolisk. Think it was on my 5th croc it dropped. So damn happy :P

So try the Crocs there, And pls reply back if they also drop for you there.

I killed over 1,000 temperamental rumblers with no drop. So I abandoned the farming and went back to questing. The first little oozing blood thing that I killed dropped the figurine. Funny.

Does anyone know if you can obtain the trinket again? I also had the caster one before but I stupidly vendored it and now I want it back. Tried to farm elementals but been getting nothing. so if anyone knows if it can be picked up again please answer. :) thanks.

I killed about 50 Lodestone Elementals, then 60 Deepstone Dlementals, tryed to kill some Tempermental Rumblers too without any luck. Went back for a few more Deepstone Elementals and finally got the quest item. It took me about 30-40 minutes, and 110-130 mobs. Didn't get any other quest item btw.

I followed the advice of some here and farmed Deepstone elementals, took me around an hour to get mine. I was about to give up and just go back to doing heroics, but it finally did drop. Thanks for the good comments.

mine droped in twilight highlands on the Highbank island down to the far south.. was doing a quest and it dropped.. sad part is i was meaning to farm this thing as soon as i could get to deepholm.. now to see if i remember to still go and try to get the one for healing

This little sucker: Statuetta - Serpente Ingioiellato dropped for me from a Devastatore Zin'jatar I'm pretty sure cause it is highly unlikely to be a drop from a Serpe Ronzante
