This is very popular, as it gives the enchant Minor Beastslayer, which is a very popular enchant.
This is because it gives a glow without using a very high enchanting level, and thus provides one affordably for low levels. Others can cost 15g or 30g.
If you get this and you are an enchanter, learn it as soon as you can - this will be your primary source of money from enchanting for quite a few levels. Otherwise, sell it at the AH for a decent some of money - it does not drop often.

The math behind the enchant is a +2 damage multiplier to all beasts. Think of it as another 2 damage on the end of your weapons white damage (in most cases). Most people, however, get it because of the cool looking red glow, and it's a popular enchant among new players.

If you find the recipe for this enchant on a new server, you can enchant this and become pretty wealthy in contrast to other players while leveling.

As the other guys says 1. this is popular 2. it gives a red glow 3. u don't need high enchanting skill this drops in case of all low lvl instances i did go RFC and WC and it dropped at both instances so if you want this try to go many times in RFC or WC got one for sale on Stormscale cheap (Horde)

Everyone loves this enchant becuase it's glowy and cheap =) I had it on every weapon @ my hunter from lvl 12-47 :$ >.>

I got it from a talrendis Lorekeeper in Azshara. I was just questing with my tauren paladin, so i think i got pretty lucky :p I got it on the server "the Sha'tar" if anyone was wondering :)
