This item has a chance to come out of the Crate of Tasty Meat and can be used for two different cooking recipes, both at 500 (Broiled Dragon Feast used with Delicate Wing which is much like a Fish Feast and Grilled Dragon).

The best place to farm the meat is from Stonescale Drake, located at the Alabaster Shelf in Deepholm(south).
They respawn instantly and their HP(37-45k) is very low compared to the drakes in Twilight Highlands(Obsidian Viletongue(85k)) or the ones in the north part of Deepholm(Stone Drake(161k))

They are flying around in the area so it's best to be a ranged class, because when you aggro the drake it takes them a few seconds to reach the ground.

As an MM Hunter I made about a stack in 10min of farming

The best place to farm these by far is at The Pale Roost in Deepholm. If you're not a plate/tank class you might have trouble, but in this area the elite Stone Drakes literally fall from the ground at half health ready for you to kill. They have a very high drop rate for Dragon flanks and some BoEs and also drop quite a bit of gold.

If you're a tank AND a skinner, The Pale Roost could be quite the money maker for you.

This is coming from the perspective of an 85 Enhancement Shaman.

Agreed, the pale roost is by far the best place to farm Dragon Flank between the two. The mobs fall from sky frequently, often two within 40 yards of one another, allowing for no-downtime farming. Also, downtime from eating/healing is minimal as their mini-cleave is easily avoidable and their standard attacks are very weak. Make sure you are to the far west of the pale roost, but stay just east of where the Brood mother daily takes place. There's a basin there with stone throwers that knock the stone drakes from the sky. There's no reason not to be able to get 100 of these in an hour at this spot even with another half dozen people farming them.

Also, as an added bonus, it seems they drop almost 2g roughly 30% of the time plus any added greens. I filled my bags in about 40 minutes and ended up with about 9 greens, 1 blue, 90 dragon flank and vendor trash.

I highly recommend the pale roost as a Dragon Flank farming spot.

One thing to note when choosing your farm location. If your like me and like a bit of a gamble, the Obisdian guys in Twilight Highlands have a small chance to drop many of the World Drop BOE epics. Now yeah, your not likely to get one as the drop rates are incredibly low, but the more of this you plan to farm, the better your odds are, and frankly I like knowing I have a CHANCE at getting one of these extremely valuable items. Also the mob density is only slightly worse than the Elite Stone Drakes, and if your a miner you can get elementium/pyrite along the rock cliff right there as your farming. (possibly herbs, my herbalist isnt high enough to go check.)

Of course, elementium is available on the shelf in deepholm as well, so it all depends on what your looking for.

I prefer the Obisdian guys in Twilight Highlands. If you didn't turn the black out quest it's very easy to farm them without losing any HP. Just hook them again and again and they don't attack you. That's a great spot for dragon flank and skinning.

From my experience, deepholme was purely the best place. Normally, hitting one drake every 10 secs. I do kill them when they're stunt on the floor, they constanly fall down, normally I do about 60 flanks each 30 mins.

If you still have the quest "Blackout", (A caccia di Cacciadrachi) you can continue to use the Wyrmhunter Hook, even after completing the quest, to jump on the Obsidian Pyrewings. Just don't turn the quest in.

85 Kitty Druid, Deepholm - The Pale Roost

As melee dps, this was the best place. They were in range and dying so quickly I had to stop killing just to loot everything. Being a skinner this is also a great place.

Go to a place just east of the "The" of "The Pale Roost" on your map. The spot is marked by about 7 rock elementals that have died in a starfish-type pattern.

I just used Faerie Fire to pull them in. Sometimes I got lucky and 4 fell right on my head.

In 15 minutes I got 36 leather, 15 dragonscales, 2 greens, 24 dragonflank and some greys. Just Q in for ZA/ZG and you can vendor about once every half hour!
