Had one drop from a tracking hound in Old Hillsbrad. Seems to have an extremely low droprate.
Undeniably a reference to the Marvel comic character, Jack Russell, "Werewolf by Night".

Possibly intended as a reference to Farley Mowat, author of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Cry_Wolf which involved him studying wolf behavior by living with them.

Or possibly a reference to Jack Russel, Werewolf by Night, being that it was added with the worgen race.

I'd put my money on it being a mistake, intended to reference Farley Mowat but confused with Jack London, as White Fang and Call of the Wild are about the domestication of a wild dog and the opposite, respectively.

I was very surprised to see this drop because I'd never even heard of it before the day I got it. To me the strangest thing about it is that it was added in patch 4.0.3 in areas that are not part of new Azeroth.

Edit: In fact, it seems that it only drops in an old Azeroth instance and in a dungeon that's not even on Azeroth. lol

I am pretty sure its about Timothy Treadwell, wich made the videos and book diary of his life in the Katmai National Park in Alaska. He was mainly interested in bears but he had alot of time spent with one and more foxes. One fox called Timmy was always following him, extreamly cute. However he died by a new brought bear :( The show have been on both Animal Planet and Discovery Channel.
