The Origami Slime makes about 6-7 random-colored tiny slimes, which run around randomly for about 5 seconds. Really cute, and they make an adorable squish noise when they "die."

It's a cheap fun little creation. When you set it out, it spawns about half a dozen oozes of various colors, they will all rush off in different directions and will run about until they just stop to despawn (I guess 15 second lifespan).

I got this drop and it was green as skillable, but made 14 @ skill level 487 without a skill-up. It only takes 3 resilient parchments so 1g20 ea. This is a very expensive level to skill-up so even a couple points would have been nice. Can anyone confirm if this gives skill-ups at all?

Confirm skill-up. I made 34 of them (recipe was green) and moved from 483-490.

I think the money for parchment was worth it vs my time gathering herbs.

The word "origami" is Japanese word means folding paper. That's why those origami techniques only require parchment to make.

Engineers can make mechanical pets, I was hoping scribes could make origami battle pets to make a few buck on the AH. Oh well.

Fun fact: Now that this only requires 3 light parchment to make, crafting and vendoring this is probably the least efficient profitable gold farm in existence.
You buy 3 light parchment for 9 copper. You make this and vendor the slime for 10 copper. It takes 3 seconds to craft, so you profit 1 copper every 3 seconds.

Quick math:
1 copper * 20 (casts per minute) * 60 (minutes per hour) = 12 silver an hour.
But wait, if you buy light parchment from a vendor where you get exalted rep discounts, 3 parchment costs 7.2 copper, increasing your profit per cast to 2.8 copper!
2.8 * 20 * 60 = 33.6 silver an hour!
