For a "grass is greener" point of view on this item, I would consider ALL of these buffs to increase your experience gained to greatly varying degrees (the 10% gain is the biggest of course).

Depending on the heal, the buff that heals you while damaging enemies could lead to slightly less downtime or allow you to take on more mobs at once, both things indirectly increase your experience intake.

Next, depending on what type of mobs you are fighting (humanoids, beasts, dragonkin), doing 15% more damage will allow you to kill faster, indirectly increasing your experience gain.

Then, if you don't already have a movement speed increase (while leveling you may not run to get your boots enchanted or may upgrade items often), the 15% run speed will increase ground covered for the times where you are running mob to mob. Yes, we'll usually have mounts so the gain from this is minuscule, but I'm sure it's there somewhere!

Ok Ok, so disregarding the movement speed increase buff, I would say that the damage increase and heal-on-damage (depending on how much it is, I don't know) would increase your leveling speed, not as much as a 10% experience gain, but it's there. This would mean that 3 of the 6 buffs should help you level faster most of the time!

Unfortunately there's also a Kneecapper buff, which gives 15% damage to GIANTS - wow, that sucks. This has to be the least numerous group of NPCs in game

The 10% xp buff is really nice. The rest are pretty meh. A 15% damage bonus against ALL mobs would be useful, but instead they're all too specific. I can't think of a zone in the game where the mobs are all undead or all humanoid, etc, etc.

I guess if they fall in your lap or can be made really cheaply, they might be worth using. I can't imagine buying them the way they work now though.

These are alot like the Mysterious Fortune Cards, except they don't sell as well or as high. Their real benefit is that they don't even go yellow until 475 (you can learn it at 460). Cheap and easy 15 Inscription points, minimum.

Kneecapper: +15% damage done against Giants

I may have missed it being posted above but Learning by Example DOES stack with heirlooms (took all mine off and the reduced amount worked out as an additional 10% on top of the guild 10%).

In the 4.1 PTR notes, it was noted that the cooldown will be lowered to 1 hour, so you could easily chain the buffs together (without having to do log-out shenanigans).

i noticed that the buff stays even if you get killed, can t recall if it used to do that before, also not shure if the buff Deadly Drive (+15% dmg on humanoids) applies to players, would be imba for those who lvl via pvp or those who play on pvp servers

I have found quite the niche for these items, on my server at least. One thing I've noticed is that most players have no clue these things exist, nor what they do. With cleverly-worded ads in Trade Chat, you can turn a hefty profit when the glyph market crashes (as it tends to do from time to time).

On average, these are selling for 75-100g each. Be sure to advertise the XP buff, which stacks with BoA gear and guild perks. Just a tip from a friendly scribe :)

EDIT: As of 5.0.4, this can no longer be crafted, but the ones you may have in your inventory have not been removed.

I love this thing. There's no reason not to use one every hour because the buff you get could be insanely useful. I've gotten to the point where I decide what I do based on what buff I get and I level insanely fast and it breaks the monotony.

For Example:
Learning by Example: +10% quest experience gained (Get outta dungeon finder and do some quests.)
Living Forever: 30% chance to heal yourself for 4-6% of your maximum health, when dealing damage to an enemy (Insanely useful and Fun for a non-healing class in PvP)
The Great Hunt: +15% damage done against Beasts (Find some level appropriate beasts and farm for an hour.)
Deadly Drive: +15% damage done against Humanoids (Do some PvP... it makes a huge difference)
28 Chapters Later: +15% damage done against Undead (especially at 75 do some Northrend normal dungeon Q's because everything is undead.)

Also, this thing is like a Flask. You don't lose the buff when you die.

Question can inscriptions still create this item, I'm having a look at my profession and cant see it any more. If you can not create it any more this must be very rare right now. or will get very rare.

As of Patch 5.0.4, this item was removed from game. The ones that were made prior to patch 5.0.4 were not removed.

It seems to no longer be craftable, which is a real shame. I still have one in my inv, and will keep it as a reminder of past glories.

As of 5.0.4 this item is no longer craftable.

Those that were created prior to 5.0.4 have not been removed.

This is likely due to Blizzard's intentions to get players to immerse themselves in the content rather than blowing right through all of it so quickly.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##
