I don't believe this exists... I think this has either been patched out or is some kind of joke to waste your time...

You have to go to Stormwind and get the quest off the billboard.

Then you have to do quests up to Harrison Jones

take it to em
premature explosionation
field work
just the tip
etc...

and then you can get the quest "be prepared" FROM decrepit Skeleton...

After having done some test, this item will drop from Tormented Tomb-Robber (100%) while ON the quest The Thrill of Discovery.

This Rope helps you Be Prepared for your adventures with Harrison Jones, and there are three ways to get started.

1) If you accept Preparati from the Scheletro Decrepito, you start out with a Pezzo di Corda, and when you walk over a ground skeleton, the Tombarolo Tormentato that rises up will drop an additional Piece of Rope, of which you need 6.

2) If you have not yet taken the quest, and you walk over a skeleton, the Tormented Tomb-Robber that rises up will drop this particular seemingly similar but actually different Piece of Rope, which can also begin the quest. When you accept, there is no longer a need to "talk" to the Decrepit Skeleton (you can't even target him), and this quest-giving-rope becomes the normal one...of which you need 6.

I assume (but cannot confirm) that you need to have at least begun Il gusto della scoperta, if not completed it (as I had), for all of this to happen.

3) If, before either of these things happens, you complete Una lezione dal passato from the other fork of the quest chain, a third preparedness-being-rope-collection-option opens up. Once you turn in, leave Harrison Jones, and then return he will offer the substantially similar Preparati. They're really afraid you'll miss it and won't be able proceed with the chain, or maybe they just really really need rope.
