When turning in the guild charter after obtaining the required signatures, make sure that it is in your primary backpack (ie: not another bag slot).

If you attempt to create your guild without the filled out charter in your main backpack, it will not work. You won't get an error or any ohter type of message. You will not pass go. You will not collect $200.

The required amount of signatures to complete the guild registration is 10. The people who sign your charter must also be guildless.

To be more specific, when it says "Unique" sign ups, it means only 1 character from an account can sign the same charter. This means that if you happen to have 2 accounts, you cannot just make 9 characters on your second account and have each one sign the charter. You would have to have 9 accounts, each with 1 character sign the charter.

I find it easiest to stand in a starting zone (The Vally of Trials in Durotar for example) and get the lowbies to sign up, or maybe offer them some coin if you have no luck.

why cant i make a freaking guild, i put it in the primary bag slot, i went to the guy and i talked to him about registering my guild BUT IT IS NOT WORKING can somebody tell me what i am doing wrong, i also have all the people's signatures, do they need to be on at the same time or what?

also if you belong to a guild the GM told me to press enter then /gquit and you leave the guild you are with...........

Is actually possible to have a your own "alt bank" guild?

If I know correctly, even if only one of your toon can sigh the charter, all other alts can be invited by a 10th (last) member, willing to wait that you relog on different alt char?

It should be noted, that if your like me and want to change the name of your guild your gonna make, and you don't want to lose the signatures you already have, you can use the charter to change the name over and over, but you should make it what you like before you create the guild, or you're stuck with its name.

P.S. Might be funny to name thee guild after a random person, for their "special" signature, then change it once they signed. No way to unsign, so you just have to trick them when they're half awake. Lol.

They have fixed Guild Charter spam, nobody's done it to me lately but I bug people for their sigs all that time and it doesn't work anymore.

But really people, it's just a mouse click. No need to be greedy or lazy about it...

You can only promote a person to Guild Master if they are online, so you must first transfer ownership of the guild to a different ACCOUNT, or someone whom you trust, and then have that account or player promote your alt to GM.

I did the offering gold for sigs and I had someone take the gold and leave guild even before it was formed. I was just told that this is no longer possible, that whoever signs is stuck there till guild actually forms. Is this true?

Yes it is possible to have your own personal guild bank accessible solely to yourself.

First, grab a charter.
Get 9 other level 1 losers to sign up. Pay em a single gold to convince them.
Form the guild.
Guild kick all 9 other guild members.
Buy a guild bank.
Dump all your sh-- in it.

Just FYI, a quick FAQ:

* 5 signatures (counting yours) required

* only 1 signature per account

* signee must be guildless

* free trial accounts don't work

* you can rename the guild during the signing process (but not once it is processed)

Can anyone tell me how I give over control of the Guild Master to another Guild Member since I wont be able to play much in the near future I want to turn total Control over to my Friend who also is in the Guild. Is this something you have to call Blizzard about. I cant seem to get any confirmed answers. Thank you...

If you have your "block guild invites" clicked on your Guild Charter WILL NOT OPEN FOR YOU!

I know its a duh, but there are some folks out there like me that wont think to check.

I offered Winterspring Cub pets on trade chat for signing my charter. I had all 4 signatures in under ten minutes!

(I also didn't mail them cub until after I received all four signatures so they wouldn't sign another charter)

hey guys this is kind of a stupid question but can you be in a guild and make your own guild at the same time or would you have to choose between the two?

This may be kind of ... out of place... But I can't really think of a better place to post this. I have a few articles that I wrote about leading a guild.

Okay, after getting the 4 signatures(including mine as GM) to make the 5 - you go back to the Guild Master-NPC to complete the registration - I did not have a ? on my map when I completed the signatures and it tells you to go to the Guild Registration - really was not sure if that was the same NPC or something else.

I went back to Guild Master - select the option that says - How do I form a guild - the next popup is the Available Services where you can register the guild.

Does anyone know if you can get signatures from cross-realm? Or are signatures still limited to your realm?

Get as many signatures from your friends as possible, but if you need to canvass random people, bear these in mind:

It's a good idea to remind people that they can't join a guild until you've set up your's. /w them asking to sign again if someone does, because they usually do it as an honest mistake. If someone does just rob you, denouncing them in trade channel won't do anything.
Look for signatures in low level zones, and stipulate that they must be from the same realm as you and cannot be a trial account. Try to do it in one go, as it might test people's patience to make them wait overnight.
You don't need to offer as much money as people tend to think. If you have just started on a realm, you could get signatures for free with a little patience. In any case, offering 500G a signture will be more likely to attract cheats.
Be polite but to the point when advertising. Don't spam every 30 seconds, or talk about how you've always wanted your own guild etc. Be ready to meet the people as soon as they respond. Don't ask them to wait while you finish a dungeon; remember they're doing you a favour.

I couldn't find this information anywhere else. Hopefully it helps others who are wondering about this: (as of 5.4.1)

When they say - one guild signature per account - they mean per "game license or copy". I have 2 licenses under my Battle.net account and I was able to make a character on each and sign a guild charter using both characters. Good to know when guild signatures go for 100g+ on your server!

Im a lv.30 undead hunter trying to start a guild. My question is this...., do the signee's have to be a certain level(high or low) to sign it?

Its Always such a struggle to find people for a new Guild, especially if you dont have any friends :(

Do not delay getting all the signatures to register your guild. Their names can disappear because during this time players can sign other charters or join other guilds.

Why, after purchasing a guild charter, can't I see the Charter in my backpack?. I thought I had screwed something up and didn't actually buy it. But when I went back to the Guild Master in SW, he said I couldn't have two of those items. So, somewhere, I have a guild charter floating around and I can't find it. Checked my bank, nothing. Can't get into the Guild Bank as I, surprise!, am not in a guild. Help?
