Seems to be bugged for me. I've killed at least 20 of the bats and had only one brain dropped for the quest.

The rest of the items for the quest were pretty normal, so I may just be insanely unlucky.

Thought this was bugged too but after about 30+ kills, 2 brains dropped in a row. The other elements were instant drops practically - just stick at it - they'll drop eventually!

Don't worry, the drop rates just suck. I had to go through 15 bats and the longest chain pull ever to get even one.

I killed over 150 of them last night without 1 drop. I tried reloading UI, turning off all of my addons, dropping and restarting the quest, and restarting the entire game. ...no luck. Something is bugged.

Edit: I tried again the next day and I got them both within 10 kills. I'm still not sure what bugged this.

Ok guys i had this same problem.
but this IS THE SOLUTION

I probably killed nearly 50 Screechers with not a single drop of Screecher Brains.

but once I Disabled my Add-Ons and Reloaded my UI, the first Screecher I killed after I did that Dropped a Brain needed to make the mixture for the " DEMONIAC COMMIXTURE."

problem was I killed about 15 more after I did that, With not a single drop..

so I went to the ADD-ONS panel and reset my UI again.
I thought " what the hell i will give it a try"

and after that the first Screecher i killed after resetting my UI "again"

dropped a Screecher Brain.

and Bam!

There you have your Two Screecher Brains needed for the Demoniac Commixture`

This was bugged for me, too. I ended having everything except the 2nd brain. I killed about 100 mobs, no luck. I was totally pissed, ported back to the capital and logged out. The next day I noticed the quest was gone from my questlog, but the questitems still were in my inventory.

I headed back to blasted lands, picked up the quest again and killed about 10 mobs and got the missing brain. No idea what happened. Is it possible the quest was already gone from questlog the day before and THIS is the reason no brain dropped? Can someone confirm this?

I'm finished now and happy, won't test this again ;D

Forget reloading your UI or anything, just check your quest log if you notice that you stopped getting drops. The quest simply disappeared from my log at some point, but I still had all the quest items I looted in my bags.

I re-picked up the quest and was able to complete it.

I had the same problem and noticed that the quest had dropped from my quest list without any help from me, so my 1-1 1/2 hours of farming Screechers was for naught. I found out on my second run, however, that when I dropped the extra Nightstalker legs which were taking up space, that's when the quest dropped. The third try, I kept the extra legs and go the final drop off about 10-12 Screechers. Keep any extra legs until you've made you're pouch and turned it in.
