Hmmm...

My friend was over my house and played his rogue. The updater I left running should have seen this drop off one of the troll bosses in Uldaman.

Has no one noticed, this was stolen from the twilight zone. There is a episode where these aliens comes and start helping out the humans, giving them technology, stopping war, ending world hunger. But during a meeting they left a book on table and they decipered the subtext on it saying "How to serve man". The military guys were like "That sounds refreshing" cause they thought it meant to serve them as slaves or whatever. Then the aliens offered to move the humans back to their planet where they could help them more, and the guy that was working on deciphering the book came running to the launchpad screaming, "It's not a book on how to help us! It's a book on how to cook us!" the end.

I totally remember that episode because i am a Twilight Zone fanatic. I have noticed that not only does Blizzard copy Twilight Zone but so do many other things as well. I believe Futurama and Jimmy Neutron also make reference to episodes from the show.

Keep your eyes open. Remember these are sci-fi, fantasy, and tech people. Their combined years of knowledge spans decades of education and entertainment including written, TV, and movies. There are subtle innuendos, blatant references, and everything in between. Names, places, and even items...all part of the fun.
I have to give some of the players credit also. I have seen some toon and guild names that people truly put some thought into. I love this game!

Interestingly the original story written by Damon Knight has a double meaning according to Wikipedia The title is a double entendre, meaning either "to perform a service for humanity" or "to serve a human as food"

In any case "To Serve Man" was written in 1950, when Damon Knight was living in a Greenwich Village. According to Wikipedia his unhappy first marriage was breaking up and Damon wrote the story on one afternoon, while his wife was out with another man

He adapted the story and wrote an episode for the twilight Zone and In 2001, the story was awarded a Retro Hugo Award as the "Best Short Story of 1951"

I have sold countless number of these books through the Auction House, someone else here said "People will buy anything" perhaps they do, but I like to think that there are a lot of vexed lovers out there, who post them on.

I am intrigued to find out this is a reference to the Twilight Zone episode - I had long thought perhaps it was a reference to C.S. Lewis' "The Silver Chair", wherein the children realize (after finding cookbook with a recipe for "Man" in it) that the giants who are being so kind to them are actually planning to eat them:

"MAN. This elegant little biped has long been valued as a delicacy. It forms a traditional part of the Autumn Feast, and is served between the fish and the joint."
