Let's see... an organ that can shield me mightily with its... organ-ness, and when I get to being hit, I recieve a rush of stamina that builds and builds so that I can take it until finally the other person drops?

Assuming a single target of standard attack speed (2.0) slowed to 2.4 seconds per hit, with an avoidance of

There are 4 possible scenarios to look at in a single target situation: ICC (-20% dodge) versus non-ICC with parry as "hits" and the same where parry does not count as "hits"

Scenario 1: ICC with parry as "hit"
13% dodge + 9% miss = 22% avoidance
Over 10 seconds, you are attacked 4 times before the buff wears off.
100 * 78 * 60 = 46.8% chance for the proc to refresh per hit.
53.2% ^ 4 = 7.5% chance that the proc will not refresh itself.
92.5% uptime

Scenario 2: non-ICC with parry as "hit"
33% dodge + 9% miss = 42% avoidance
Over 10 seconds, you are attacked 4 times before the buff wears off.
100 * 58 * 60 = 34.8% chance for the proc to refresh per hit.
65.2% ^ 4 = 18.1% chance that the proc will not refresh itself.
81.9%% uptime

Scenario 3: ICC with parry as non-"hit"
13% dodge + 25% parry + 9% miss = 47% avoidance
Over 10 seconds, you are attacked 4 times before the buff wears off.
100 * 53 * 60 = 31.8% chance for the proc to refresh per hit.
68.2% ^ 4 = 21.6% chance that the proc will not refresh itself.

Scenario 4: non-ICC with parry as non-"hit"
33% dodge + 25% parry + 9% miss = 67% avoidance
Over 10 seconds, you are attacked 4 times before the buff wears off.
100 * 33 * 60 = 19.8% chance for the proc to refresh per hit.
80.2% ^ 4 = 41.4% chance that the proc will not refresh itself.

Several things to account for: special attacks (will increase # hits), mobs with different attack speed (another increase), mobs with adds (increase yet again), scripted events (decrease in # hits)

Call me cynical, but I really really do not like the look of this.

-Stamina is stacked because it increases Effective Health
-Effective Health increases Time to Live
-Time to Live measures how long a tank can survive without heals, avoidance or procs. This is important because in wrath, bosses hit hard and tanks need to be as best able to eat a string of unavoided attacks as they can.

The problem: Time to Live measures the worst case scenario. That means no procs. Even with lower tank avoidance in ICC, it is possible to get a lucky avoidance streak or for it to not proc and have this buff drop. 10 stacks dropped? You just lost nearly 3k health after buffs.

Bad stuff happens. I've been killed more than once by Last Stand ending at an inappropriate time. This just seems like something that could do it again.

TLDR: RNG and stamina together make me uncomfortable

there is also a trinket called Dislodged Foreign Object too... also seems silly that you are carrying something around that you have no idea what it is, but it makes you powerful anyways

.. This is only like 3k hp you know, and not 30% as last stand.. Theres no need to worry if it drops, youll probably also have spells to help you through the rough time right after the hp drop.. Its easy to time it, when its 10sec.

In the above figures, p is the probability of it not proccing, uptime is % you'd have ANY stacks up, mean stack size is the average stack you'd have up and ramp time is the number of events required to build up a 10-stack from zero given the boss's attack speed.

Obviously there's a noticeable difference in these two situations. For fast-swinging bosses, the organ is a decent trinket, though for normal fight lengths of 5 minutes or so there's still a good 90-95% chance your buff will drop off at some point during the fight, requiring 30 seconds to build it back up.

For a slow-swinging boss, the trinket quickly becomes abysmal. You're nearly guaranteed the buff will drop off multiple times, and the average stack size will be low, netting you under 100 stamina. Of course, the armor itself is going to be worth around 170 stamina for a purely physical boss encounter, but there are better trinket options that don't have the severe ramp-up and drop-off difficulties.

It could be worthwhile on Marrowgar if Bone Storm can keep it up.

Deathwhisper, Saurfang, and Festergut all have tank swaps.

Gunship potentially has "retreat time" if you're tanking the captain, and if you're tanking adds there will be periods with nothing attacking you.

Could be worth using on Rotface if you're tanking the boss, useless if you're tanking adds though.

Tanking Putricide it could be good for phases 1 and 2, but phase 3 has tank swaps. Since phase 3 is the dangerous part for the tank, it's probably not a good choice for this fight either.

Is nobody noticing that 2128 is a fantastic amount of armor? The proc is a bonus, not the meat and potatoes of this trinket. Armor is one of the most desirable stats besides stamina when you walk into ICC, and I can get that stamina elsewhere. I'll take this massive armor where I can.

Armor is the most desirable stat for tanking in ICC, but in most cases we are not forced to make a decision between more stamina or more armor. In this case we do. I'm using Petrified Twilight Scale and the regular version of this trinket for most fights in ICC. For other fights I will switch the Unidentifiable Organ for the Corroded Skeleton Key because there is more magic damage. The use effect plus the stam on the key can be useful if the healers are distracted and you are about to take a large amount of incoming magic damage (sindragosa). The two armor trinkets paired would be really useful for fights like LK.

i actually have one and its pretty good and also makes any protect pally a god against bosses even if the buff wears out the thing of it is it drops down to your normal hp and leaving you sometimes even fully healed and also is good if you mob alot

plus after it drops it will just stack back up even though it plays a big role in enemy haste to bad it will be crap soon cuz of cata D:

Still Good for bear druids at 85, it´s roughly 2nd best trinket considering Scaglia del Crepuscolo Pietrificata heroic and regular 1 item...

Now at 611 armor as of 4.0.6. Still not too shabby, but is easily beat out by 346 blue trinkets like Left Eye of Rajh. (Leaden Despair heroic already beat out even heroic Petrified Twilight Scale before the nerf!)
