Yeah, this is better than Mirror of Truth in my opinion. For a blood DK, getting Armor Penetration is nice. The crit rating you lose from the Mirror is easily replaced with enchants/gems/diff stats, and the AP proc is reliant on crits with the Mirror.

ive had them proc at the same time almost everytime one or the other procs, and 2k ap isnt bad at all

It Is normal that MoT / AoT will stack with BoV , since BoV has an Ap proc of 1008 , and MoT / AoT have a proc of 1000 ap . :)

Replaced my MoT with this. ~7% constant ArP easily beats 1.5% crit as a hunter.

Replaced my MoT with this also as a fury warrior. Once you star stacking ArP from Ulduar and beyond ArP>crit.

I was curious if the proc on this trinket was any different than MoT (besides the extra 8 AP). MoT has an up time ~16% from my experience looking through WWS logs. From looking through the logs of an Ulduar-25 run the uptime for BoV varied from 18%-20%. So it seems this proc functions a little different and you'll get a bit more uptime from it.

Tested several setups on a testdummy with Mirror of Truth(MoT), Banner of Victory(BoV), Fury of the Five Flights(FotFF) and Darkmoon Card: Greatness(DMC:G) on my hunter.

Rankings in DPS:
1. FotFF & DMC:G 3000
2. DMC:G & BoV 2850
3. DMC:G & MoT 2835
4. FotFF & BoV 2630
5. FotFF & MoT 2618
6. BoV & MoT 2500

So i'll stick with my old setup and ditch BoV. Great trinket if you are starting heroics though!

Just for those of you who came to this page to see where it drops (has not been updated), it drops from the confessor cache, the cache that only appears when you face Argent Confessor Paletress, the second boss of the Trial of the Champion instance.
From what i understand, she appears around 50% of the time, tested over 30 runs...
Good luck getting your trinket, guys, I'm on run number 40 and still going...

Edit: It is random which boss appears. I've had her appear twice in a row and the other one unfortunately appear 4 times in a row.

For those saying that this is better than the mirror, it depends. While the mirror relies on crits the proc rate is fairly good. I know that within the first 15 seconds of a fight I almost always have the mirror proc. What keeps the "PPM" of things like mirror down is the iCD of the items. By having a high proc rate but an iCD it allows for the number of procs over time to be fairly consistent.

As an enh shaman Mirror of Truth is a better trinket than this thing due to how bad ArP is for enhancement.

Just had a hunter get all ^&*!@y at me, a feral druid, for letting him know I wish to roll on this.
A note to all armour penetration users, expect heavy competition for the trinket. Druids, hunters, dk's warriors, rogues (maybe paladins?) could all be after this trinket and it's not a crime in doing so!

It might just be me, but this thing seems to "feel like" it procs way more often than Mirror of Truth. Probably owing to the fact that it's on-hit and a 20% procrate versus on-crit and a 10% procrate, eh?

If you want a quick answer it showed as a 17 dps upgrade over MoT in Shandaras spreadsheet with my gear as SV (197 passive ArP). Should be a lot better as MM obviously.

If you're a hunter wondering if the proc can be up as the same time as MoT, go get Greatness already.

Elitist crap:
MM Hunters, Blood DKs, Warriors, Feral Kitties and Rogues should take priorty on this item.
If you are a Surv Hunter, Enh Shammy, Unholy DK, or Ret Pally, you should pass on this item to any of the above classes as so much of your damage already ignores armor that it is not as big a benefit to you.

In Reality:
This is a normal instance. And not a normal instance like Shadow Labs where it was well over an hour to clear in 2.0. This place takes 20 minutes tops, 5 of which is the stupid text at the begining. If you lose a roll on this, you can run the place again imediately. It's not like a raid where you only get one chance per week. Every group I have ran this instance with has done atleast two runs due to the speed and the fact that we have a group together already.

Furthermore, the people running the instance on normal are trying to gear up. It's not their fault that this is the only item that benefits you in the instance. I lost a roll on this item to 2 different ret pallies that were both using http://www.wowhead.com/?item=43838

20% proc chance? This is quite generous, I actually bought mirror of truth 2 days before the patch came out and a single tear streamed down my eye.

At any rate, it should definately be picked up if you have nothing better. The instance is fun, easy, and gives good loot rewards.

The 148 ap trinket from the devilsaur boss in DTK has a ArP use, but you can link it in macro to wings to make it massive.

In the end its not bad or completely useless, but you should always strive to get DMC:G and FoFF, its worth it.

If your over 500 ArP rating, this is BiS for blood DK's.

This may be true for other class's who have high value for ArP also, but I'm not sure.

Just got the banner last night. It took me many many runs since the instance came out. I've been doing at least 2 or 3 runs every night. I didn't see it drop until last night and it dropped twice. Also the black heart dropped during one of those runs. They were very rewarding runs.

Both times the banner dropped off the Paletress.

this has only dropped 2 time for me out of about 30 runs, first time i lost to a dk which i wasnt to mad about, second i lost to a pally then he said he didnt realize he had better and disenchanted the banner >< i told we could trade to party members now but he said "oh i forgot"

When this trinket procs (Fury), the animation is a pulsing aura under your feet similar to a mage's Presence of Mind but purple instead of blue and the sound is same as the rogue's (Sprint).

A few of my friends got this on their very first time in this instance. I've run this now everyday since it was released (and usually 2-3 times, sometimes 5+) and I've never even seen it drop. o.O

If the droprate really is 13%, and Confessor pops up around 50% of the time, the droprate is in reality, closer to 0.065. Oh yay, one of THOSE droprates...

I haven't taken a course in statistics in awhile, but assuming all the items have an equal drop chance the chance of getting this item on any one run is...

((1/12) + (1/11))/2 = 8.712%

12 item loot table, two items drop and they're never the same so you've got a 1 in 12 and a 1 in 11 chance on any run where the confessor pops, which is a 1 in 2 chance.

So, anyone know why the hell this drops in reg ToC? Btw, i got lucky and got it the first run i ever did in reg ToC lol, newayz. this is what i think 1) this should be a higher gear score, and 2)should drop from H ToC. also, look at the CD for this right here: Gay sure it lasts for 20 seconds rather than 10, but it can only be used every 2 frikin minutes! idk why in gods name anyone would pay 50 Triumph emblems for this when they can run reg ToC and have the banner, seriously blizz, wtf?

1) 20 seconds is a lot more than 10 :P
2) it gives u attack power whenever u want so that means it wont be use on lvl 1 mobs it will be used on bosses in phases U want it to be used
3)2 minutes is not too much
4)50 triumph emblems are guaranteed drop unlike the banner
5)its lvl 200 becouse it drops in a normal instance....
6)?
7) stop posting things that are dumb

Lawlz. This trinket hasn't been BiS for a while due to ToC 25's http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47464#comments - which also stacks with the non-heroic version according to the comments of the item. That could very possibly be incorrect, though.

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42987 is still a very nice trinket and TBH, as a DK, I would rather stack that and the other one together.

I got it on my second try. I was &*!@ed at not getting the Black Knight's Rondel to drop in the heroic, then we did a couple of normals and I rolled a 96 on it. Someone in the party offered me all the gold they had on them at the time (200 something) for it. At least with this thing, I can survive with my crappy weapons for a while instead of blowing over a grand on a titansteel shanker (yes, even THAT is un upgrade over both of my daggers!). No one could believe it dropped, as none of them had ever actually seen it.

I've been after this trinket on my feral druid for...probably a full week. I've seen the Black Heart drop 7 or 8 times, but this trinket only twice--and both times, tanks rolled need. If you're going after this trinket, do your fellow dps a favor and run as dps...or say you're after it if you're tanking.

You think it will be easier to get with new LFG tool? Wrong! IF it will drop, everyone will need. Then someone will try to buy it (you can trade cross server BoPs). My suggestion is to get every gear you need from this instance except this trinket and move on.

Just to be helpful, since the Confessor appears 50% of the time, lets say in your 50 runs, you've seen Confessor's Cache 25 times.

The probability of not seeing Banner of Victory is 85%. Therefore the probability of not seeing it 25 times is 0.85^25 = 0.017 or 1.7%. That's actually pretty high. Basically 17 in 1000 people will have the same luck as you! :D

i have done over 20 confessor kills for this items but no drop so farming this is a waste of time, better do wintergrasp for the trinket or get 40 emblems of heroism i think for the other dps trinket.if you do wanna farm this you will get it by the time your a old coot (correct me if i am wrong)

Only drops from Paltress and not Eadric unlike Abyssal Rune. Also never drops. Also is melee/hunter DPS which makes up 95% of the game. gg blizz

Definitely a Must have for : Hunters (Marksman spec ) Warriors (Fury/Arms) Rogues (Combat/Sub) , Feral Druids. (Kitty), Death Knights! which calls for alot of competion from alot of classes. Expect to run this place for days / weeks / months before winning or even seeing it drop. My rogue got it very quickly, my hunter took a week and my warrior took a month.

You're a Noob if you're a : Paladin, Shaman (Enh) dps and you roll on this over any of the above mention classes. Paladins main attacks are mostly based off holy damage Except for Crusader Strike and Divine Storm which makes it less than desired. Enhancement Shaman do not benefit from armor Pen as much as the aboved mentioned so it's a weaker trinket for them , you wanna go for more crit and attack power over arp if you're a Ret Paladin or Enhancement Shaman.

It's sought after by the above and this is why Blizz had made the drop rate challenging just as they did for Grim Toll and several other BIS Trinkets. Yet you can farm this place ALL DAY (using dungeon finder to que for Normal TOC manually) as there is no cool down on Running Normal Dungeons through the finder unlike heroics.

Anyone who says this is easily farmed... well, lets hope your luck is better than what seems to be the majority of the people after this trinket (my hunter included).

Roughly estimating 1/4 ratio of Paletress vs. Eadric, from personal experience. I honestly don't want to know what sick mind was thinking it'd be great to have this 1 trinket drop off this 1 boss who shows up "50%" of the time O_o

Especially considering the other 3 at least have a chance of showing up each reset.

I just wanted to point out now that BC and WoTLK have the same level cap this is inarguably one of the best trinkets for melee dps classes twinking.

Incase you were wondering, I am currently on my 37th run, and I have YET to see this drop on my twink or booster. Good luck farming, and if you want to rip out your hair know you're not alone!
