Me lads from the prospecting team happened upon this poor 'alf dead riding-drake hatchling. Must've been an Iron Dwarf experiment of some sort.

We've patched him back to health and you'll find he's not so wee anymore! None of us knows much about riding anything but rams and pack mules and since we owed ye one for what ye did back there... we thought perhaps you'd accept him as a gift.

i agree with moseao. this mount is arguably better looking than the ICC achievement mounts. of course, nothing looks better than invincible, but other than him it's the best looking mount in the game.

If you dont have violet proto drake its going to cost you at a very minimum 8k to get 310% or you can use a little known exploit to get 310% free. As for the drake there is also an exploit for that too, as been since ulduar was added.

In my opinion, this is definitely the coolest proto-drake by far, however I have to say that as far as best looking drakes go Netherdrakes still win (including the new cata drakes). Downrate if you like, I just don't want people to be forgetting about our Netherwing allies. ;)

By Far the best looking mount in the game, was 310% before cataclysm. This mount is obtainable, i did it, but you have to know the fights or you will wipe on many, even at uber 85. The run takes about 4 hours, unfortunately. harder than 10 man

managed to get a 25 man pug filled and banged out all the achievements. im amazed we did it with a pug, to be honest! i feel bad for the impatient people who rage quit after 1 wipe on Yogg-Saron though lol.

most of the achieves that just have you kill a boss in a certain amount of time are easy. the razorscale one is just time consuming (we hit the enrage timer and finished it on a second run). Yogg Saron requires a competent group just to finish, but its definitely less stressful.

best mount in the game by FAR. the new stone drakes are meh, and the storm drakes look meh too. nothing beats the protodrakes yet.

Best flying mount in the game! Yes, even cooler than Al'ar in my opinion. I even have it on all of my alts. This dragon is brilliantly designed :)

Why was this downvoted? Blizzard themselves said they regret removing the Naxxramas protodrakes from the game.

I just got this with random 25 level 85s, and the mount is amazing. All I can say is kudos to the people who got this at level 80, it must have been hell of a challenge.

About a week ago I used OpenRaid for the first time. After a few minutes of chatting in QuickRaid I found a 25 man Ulduar run. When I entered the raid I had none of the meta achievements. Two or three hours later I had every achieve and got my Ironbound Proto-Drake. I also earned 30 or so achieves and hit 8k. It was amazing.

On a side note, don't forget to kiss Sara when she's pissed. ;]

Keep running this achieve and someone always messes up CRAZY CAT LADY. So when running for this achieve be VERY careful who comes along and make sure everyone knows what to do and what not to do.
I'm still hoping to get my fav mount. :(

I got this mount a few months ago, and it's by and far my favourite flying mount. I call him Thomas. Thomas has a fat ass. It's big and hard to see around it, but I like him anyways.

I didn't get it mailed to me, though. MOP onwards, it just shows up in your mounts list after the acheivements have been reached.

Four years later and this is still one of the best looking mounts in the game. Who cares if it's owned by 21% of the playerbase now? Cloud Serpents and Wind drakes don't stand a chance.

I've had this mount for a good while now and I only just noticed that it and the Rusted are both smaller than the Blue Proto, and I assume the Green and Red ones. I was switching between all three mounts and noticed that the Blue filled up more of my screen than the Ulduar drakes. Weird.

The Ironbound ProtoDrake is a great and easy mount to get with about 10 level 90s. Get someone who knows the fights and achievements, and if you can't, read WoWHead until you do. One of the achievements most commonly stuffed up is Disarmed, so watch out for that.

Looks nice written down, but doesn't work when you read it aloud. Found does not rhyme with wound, in most accents anyway.
