Unlocking the Celestial Planetarium

Complete I Choose You, Steelbreaker or I Choose You, Runemaster Molgeim, enabling one Archivum Data Disc to drop (it is not party loot; similar to Key to the Focusing Iris).
Accept the quest from the disc and bring it to the Archivum Console, located beyond the Assembly of Iron.
After listening to the Archivum Console speak, accept the quest The Celestial Planetarium from Prospector Loren. Locate the Celestial Planetarium and return to Prospector Loren.
This enables four quests to obtain the watchers' sigils, which may be performed in any order:

Freya's Sigil - Complete Knock, Knock, Knock on Wood.
Hodir's Sigil - Complete I Could Say That This Cache Was Rare.
Mimiron's Sigil - Complete Firefighter.
Thorim's Sigil - Complete Lose Your Illusion.
Complete all four quests to enable the quest Algalon from Prospector Loren.
Simply speak to the Archivum Console to complete the quest, rewarding Celestial Planetarium Key.

Does anyone know if the heroic key also works in the 10man?

Edit: From personal testing the heroic key also works for unlocking the 10m encounter.

This key is being removed with the release of 4.2 Patch and it's no longer needed to open Algalon chamber and start the encounter.

I had both planetarium keys before 4.2 hit, and now I only have the heroic version in my bag. It should open both Algalon encounters.

Has anyone asked GM or tried if it's possible to enter 25man Algalon's chamber after throwing this key away? All those returned keys just left me without bag space and I'd like to delete this one (since the 10man version deleted itself..), but scared if I'm able to open 25man Algalon..?

I can confirm that you may safely delete this key. I deleted it and then entered Ulduar 25 and was still able to open Algalon's chamber. I also tested this in Ulduar 10 with the same result.

Furthermore, the device that is used to open Algalon's chamber door no longer displays a "Locked" in red or "Unlocked" in green text when hovering your mouse over it which is consistent with my findings.

It would seem that Blizzard just accidentally overlooked this key and only deleted the normal mode planetarium key.

If you decide to delete this key, the <Locksmith> NPCs will not restore it for you.

This key is no longer needed and can be deleted from your inventory or kept as a trophy. It was used to unlock Algalon's chamber so you could fight him. That requirement was removed after Cataclysm was released.

This key has been useless for years, but I keep it as a collector item, nothing would happen if you destroy this item.
