Man, I really wish I'd looked this up and seen how few things it's used for before I stockpiled eight stacks of them in the bank thinking they'd be useful for Dragonscale Leatherworking... D'OH!

is this not available anymore in Cata? farmed in Dustwallow Marsh for hundreds of raptors and got nothing :(

Confirmed to drop from Highland Fleshstalkers. it seems these are the ONLY raptors they drop from in 4.0.6. Drop rate is good, I got 3 in my first 5 kills

Highland Fleshstalkers are definitely the way to go. Be sure to clean your bags out as they drop a lot of stuff you'll need to loot to skin them.

If your leveling cooking you'll be happy with tons of Raptor Eggs and Raptor Flesh.

After about 1 1/2 hrs. I had 67 raptor hides, 171 medium leather, 37 heavy leather, 8 medium hides, 3 heavy hides, 166+ eggs ( I had to destroy some), 120 raptor flesh, 5 greens and a heavy bronze lockbox.

My bags were full at the end so I didn't skin the last 20 or so.

Don't forget to grab Pattern: Raptor Hide Belt from Androd Fadran and Recipe: Roast Raptor from Hammon Karwn both at Refuge Point in Arathi Highlands.

The Highland Fleshstalkers are definitely the way to go. What I didn't understand at first, since it's a hide, is that it's a drop. So any character can farm this, not just a skinner. I believe these are quest mobs for the horde and when I first went, I definitely had competition. Today, since I was already there, I farmed for about 20 minutes just going back & forth along the spawn stretch. I got 30 raptor hides, a couple of greens and of course, leather that I skinned.

Like everything else, the Fleshstalkers with their Raptor Hide have a really sporadic drop rate. The fact that it says 35% here does not mean it's going to drop one every third kill. I spent a little over two hours last night and got 14 hides. I spent under an hour there today, and got 29...
