Good, a new quiver. Hunters are going to need all the quiver/pouch space they can get now that steady shot will consume ammo. Odd that there's no additional attack speed from BC quivers. Then again, BC quiver speeds were no better than the best original WoW quiver.

This is THE quiver of WotLK.

Giving 4 slots more than Quiver of a Thousand Feathers, this is a clear update over it with a grand total of 5600 arrows fitting in to it.

Given a hunter with 2.0 attack speed (after applying haste effects), this gives us a total of 186 minutes and few seconds of autoshotting. Continously firing Steady Shot with a two second cast time effectively halves that time to 93 minutes and few seconds. Throw in a few stings and some Arcane Shots and you should still have arrows for around 90 minutes or so of continuous firing.

Sorry, hunters. if ammo space is a big deal to you, you might want to pick up a gun.

The Ammo pouch recipe for outland is from Kalu'ak honoured. Kalu'ak are met in both of the northrend starting zones, and a major secondary zone. Not difficult.

This, though, this comes from ebon blade honoured, from an NPC who doesn't even show up until you've quested in Icecrown a bit.

Obviously there are going to be plenty of people who push ahead to get the recipe, and if you already have the nice quiver from outland, you might not care about only adding 4 more slots. But for now, just a bit of explanation as to why it might be far easier to find someone who can make the ammo pouch than finding someone who can make the quiver.

The quiver with most slots.. Mats are 2 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38425 and 20 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38558. The pattern requires Honored with the Ebon Blade faction.

This Quiver is just amazing. Huge slots ammount and the regular Haste bonus. Also is looking fantastic. Definately best quiver around as of now.

OK so I know in 3.1, arrows will stack in 1000s instead of 200s, and Auto Shot will give the 15% haste so you don't need quivers anymore, but what will happen to the quiver itself? Are they all just going to *poof* out of the game or what?

so actually they made the ammo pouches and the quivers useless...
the only reason is maybe that it looks cool to wear a quiver while you are using your bow.

One arrow weights about 100 grams.
One quiver weights about 1000 grams.

How do you carry 3 tons of saronite and wood on your back?

■Ammunition goes away completely - ranged weapons will simply do damage, like melee ones do. Arrows and bullets will become gray items come Cataclysm, and quivers will be transformed into large unique bags (this change will affect only Hunters!). No more ammo pouch patterns will be added to the game.

28 slot bag ftw!

My only question is, must you have one already or can you make one after cataclysm is launched?

If your a hunter DON'T PASS THIS UP, get a 28 slot ammo/arrow bag and make it soulbound, then when Cataclysm hits you will have a 28 slot bag... I salavate at the thought of 4 28 slot bags, would make up for being a hunter in several (but not all) ways. Im going to have one of each just in case...

despite all the hype i'm seeing, blizz never said the quivers would convert into 28 slot bags
all I've seen of blizz's official response is 'large bags'

in all technicalities, a 20-slot bag is considered a large bag, or even a 16 or 18-slotter could be considered a large bag

what blizz means by a large bag has yet to be revealed
now, i'm not saying, you shouldn't purchase one, i myself, as a hunter have one i am saving, simply for the fact of collecting it, so we'll see what it turns into...

I believe these are turning into soulbound 20 slot bags. It might be worth noting whether it is cheaper to craft these or the frostweave bags for alts, because in the patch they will both be 20 slotters. If its cheaper to craft these ones, just make 4 or 8 etc for your alts instead of getting them frostweave bags. Although in Cata the entry level bags will be 22 slot, so it all depends on how much you want to spend on your alts.

Can anyone confirm any new updates concerning these with 4.0.1 out? Do you need to have these equipped, in your bag, or just have one for it to be of any use? Does the quiver still show up on the back of your character? So many questions and so much time to waste with downloading the current patch.

This item's recipe can no longer be purchased.

Existing quivers are now 20 slot bags that show up on your back if you are a hunter.

Is this still craftable by those players that obtained the recipe before 4.01? Or is the recipe completely removed?

It appears that they have also removed them from appearing on your back, that or mine is just being grumpy...

tried logging out and in a few times and requipping, with no luck

Since quivers aren't a part of the game. I now have a free 20 slot bag that makes me have a sense of nostalgia every time I open my bags.
