I'd like to point out that it will in fact cost more than what people are calculating. The 250g and 375g listed for the vendor items are what a vendor will pay if you're the seller. And that's only 25% of what it costs to buy one from a vendor. So that's 8 * 1,000 g + 1,500 g = 9,500 g just for the vendor-bought parts. I don't know how much 12 titansteel bars will cost but the 18k suggested earlier sounds reasonable. Add a load of bolts, some rare-ish leather and a mysterious box of salvaged parts (dungeon drop?) and you'll probably be looking at a cost of around 30,000 g.

Expensive? Hell yes. Worth it? Well... it's a frickin' CHOPPAH!

Our guild is thrilled about the non-Engineer usability. As soon as we heard that, we began making plans to be a biker gang - the Engineers were as excited to share what they can do as the others are to be able to have a new and interesting mount. For us, it's a team-building event.

There's a certain extent where it's nice to be able to differentiate. But it's also really nice to share with friends and not just make things all for oneself.

If the complaints are really just about exorbitant AH prices... Doesn't that focus more on the Engineers making them to sell them? Blizzard could block these from AH posting, sure, but when it comes down to it... It IS a mount. It's not like it gives an advantage in PvP or anything.

PSH! If the mount's mats are more than 20k gold ill get the mamoth FIRST but, if the motorbike is somehow faster, because it requires level 80, ill just get it, a 20 hr. cooldown for 1 bar is kinda harsh, and id rather spend my money on a flying mount, but hey who doesn't want a chopper? If i trusted it, id buy gold, but how can i garuntee that ill get it? Don't post an advertisment after i post this... -_-... First of all this is an archievement mount.

Arguing about the priority to engeneers - i would like to admit that its a nice way that engeneers can make mounts for public use! more useful then Felsteel Bullets spammed in AH.

Second. I would also agree that - not everyone will afford this mount if u guys thinking that all around will be Choppers in WOTLK.

Even to me - i will think twice before i spend like 35k gold on a mount!

There are also some special "unquie abilities" this mount has compared to a 'normal' mount (unless they were taken off from beta):

When riding in the chopper:

You do not take falling damage. Instead the bike has its own HP bar, and its HP quickly recovers over time, similar to Energy regeneration for Rogues/Druids.
You cannot be dazed. Guess since you can't daze a machine?

While they are small bonuses, I myself will save my 16,000 gold for the vendor mammoth :)

So what does "1 Elementium-Plated Exhaust Pipe - 1500 (Limited Supply)" mean? Do the exhaust pipes replenish at the vendor or is that 1500 bikes per server, period? If that's the case, then the supply of exhaust pipes will limit accessibility to this mount far, far more than the materials cost. No engineer with measurable brain wave activity would sell this baby unless the price was IRL currency.

Here's another issue - Alliance Expedition rep alone isn't enough to get exalted with Alliance Vanguard and I haven't found enough quests to get rep with the other factions that make up Alliance Vanguard... I expect that more will open up as the servers progress, but because of that alone I imagine it will be quite awhile before you see these mounts.

To make that bike as u ve noticed u need to be engineer 450, u also need to buy the schem. learn it etc. There is some mats thats only buyable to only those that have learned the schem. 1 of these mats its the elementium exaust pipe. this1 has restriction on how many an engineer can buy---> u can buy only 1.

so this mount is engineer's only mount and no1 else:D

Picked up my Choppah today. Was a pain to get, but I enjoy it to great lengths.

The chopper rides solo, until someone hops in, providing them with a retractable sidecar for comfertable sitting.

It functions as a vehicle, you cannot get dazed while in it, and you cannot die to fall damage.

I crafted this baby two days ago and i have to say that it's awesome! Yes, it has a waggon allowing two people to ride it, you can't get dazed and you can jump from dalaran without dieing!

But, seeing the mats cost somewhere around 18k(If the titansteel bars goes for 500g each that is, like they do on my realm) i were expecting something more from it.

These are just random ideas but changing the speed from 100% to 130-140% would be a good idea, i mean, it's a chopper.. It should be able to out run a elephant/horse/goat. Also, some kind of nos would be cool, like giving you a 100% speed for 5/10 sec.. Seeing the mammoth cost 19k and your able to rpr and carry TWO extra people it think it would be fair enough to the give the chopper that.

Yeh, and i may also add that people were laughing at me when i wanted 20k for it...

The Mekgineer's Chopper and the Mechano-hog are NOT affected by a Paladins Crusader Aura

However they ARE affected by a Hunters Aspect of the Pack, if you get stuck you will be dazed but you will only be slowed if your bike is struck

I would assume that the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth would be affected the same way

Every time the bike despawns or you exit the vehicle you jump on the left side so I had an idea...

1. Go to Ironforge
2. Park as close to the Old Ironforge gate as you can (park it the way that left side of the bike touches the gate).
3. When the bike despawns (because it will, you've gotta be quick) you'll jump left which will be right throught the gate to Old Ironforge
4. Have fun, you're in.

Just wanted to add that this mount can skydive! Take a friend on a trip in your sidecar and take an awesome leap from Wyrmrest temple for maximum win!
Your mount will die and despawn when you hit the ground, but your character will be 100% alive.

Next try...Jump from Wyrmrest Temple and let the passenger try to hop in on the middle floor, that would be so cool for an ingame actionvideo.

Just got mine today. VERY inconvenient in PVP (what with having to jump on/off it slowly) but other than that an amazing mount. Also in pvp if you are slowed, your mount keeps going at 100% speed because you are two different entities. :)

You Don't need to be a engineer to own one........it's just to make one......and people are saying it's BoP IT'S NOT it's BoE so anyone can have it just get a engineer who can make it if you have the bars,bolts,fur.You'll have to give them 12,500g for the other vendor parts.

Question: In the upcoming patch 3.0.8. Blizzard is removing race requirements for mounts. Since this mount is BoE, (and im assuming can be put in the AH, ) would It be possible for a Horde like myself to ride the alliance version and vise versa?

I mean I know there would be a sort of money issue, but I would totally make the horde version and trade this for the Alliance version in the neutral AH.

Anyone know if this will be possible? If so, this is my new goal in WoW.

Blizzard have mentioned that in a future patch, all vehicular mounts (flying carpet, chopper etc) will function just like normal mounts.

This means no more death defying leaps from Dalaran, ( :( ) but also no more 1 second dismounts or being unable to do anything from mounted ( :) )

I was sapped in WSG today whilst mounted, and I just kept on driving =)

Edit: The same thing happened with a hammer of justice cast on me in a battleground. Your character is stunned, but your vehicle is not and keeps moving. I assume it will do the same for cheap shot, repentance, polymorph, and many other kinds of CC.

Will be doing some more testing.

While we still have a vehicular mount..... you can eat and perform many other actions while on it. Very useful in pvp when driving away: get healed while goin the opposite direction. :) Also true for anyone in the sidecar of course.

With the Upcoming Patch, Racial Limitations in Mounts are being lifted from mounts, so if you know a Engineer on Alliance side, and you are horde, you can go freak out people in Org by using the AC version of the mount, while others are using the horde one.
Simply put hte mount in hte neutral Auction house, and buy it with your horde toon

A little help for engineers that to become exalted with Alliance Vanguard does not need to do all the alliance-only quests on the world. If you go to a level 80 dungeon or heroic dungeon (BUT NOT TO A RAID DUNGEON) without wearing a tabard or wearing that does not gives reputation to a northrend faction, all reputation will be given to your Alliance Vanguard standing.

I found a wild little glitch. If you mount up on the horseman mount while on the chopper and dismount off the chopper and start flying, you will see yourself "swimming" through the air, although everyone else sees your horse.

This a BoE, so other people who do not know Engineering can obtain this "mount" and also get the achievement: Get to the Choppa!. Like many people have said before, this will probably be very costly to buy at the Auction House and it would still cost a lot to get all the mats to make yourself. But its a small price to pay for something like this. Also, this is the Alliance version, the Horde version is the Mechano-hog, which also looks different. This is also is a 2 seated mount, so you can bring a partner along to ride with you.

I have had this for about 2 months on my Hunter.

I just realized a very interesting fact the other day.

Hunters have Aspect of the Pack that increases movement speed by 30%, but when hits becomes dazed.

For all other mounts, when you mount up, Aspect of the Pack is removed. Since I rarely use AOP I never tried it with the Chopper. Well for whatever reason, AOP does NOT fall off when you mount the Chopper (may also be true for the Traveller's Tundra Mammoth, but my Pally has it and not my hunter).

So, AOP does not get removed when you mount, and the 30% movement speed IS applied to the Chopper. Basically a hunter with the chopper running AOP will get (100% + 100%) x 30% = 260% movement speed. I can outrun paladins. Combined with the ZERO fall damage (current patch removed the falling damage from both the Mammoth and Chopper), this mount is pretty awesome.

I hope Blizzard doesn't 'fix' this.

The mount no longer takes damage from falling, nor does the player. Simply put, nothing happens, jumping out of the Dalaran Sewer falling 1000 feet has the same effect as falling 5 feet.

A guildmate of mine was wearing the murloc costume while mounted on the Blizzcon bear mount while riding the Mekgineer's Chopper.

If you and a friend are in different phases for a certain phased area, you can drive into the phased area with your friend in the sidecar.

When you do, it will show your sidecar folding up and you won't be able to see your friend, but they will still really be there. Similarly, your friend will still be riding in the sidecar, but they won't be able to see you.

In this way you can still drive your friend through areas, even if you are in different phases. Of worthy note is the fact that if your friend is attacked and dazed, they will be knocked out of the vehicle; I'm not sure if this is how it works when not phased.

If someone throws a Baby Spice at your bike, only it will shrink and make it appear as though you stole a younger sibling's toy.

Also, Noggenfogger won't make your bike shrink with you, and your passenger can mount as a skelly/dwarf and /dance as they ride around at your side.

In patch 3.0.8 hunters' aspect of the pack or cheeth affects while riding this mount, if turned on, you will be able to travell by 130% speed increase. I have only this multi passenger mount, but i think this works with all multi passenger mounts, since the vehilcle works as your pet. Another good top is in quest where you must use similar vehicles like in http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12244 , you can do the same; aspects will work on the vehicle so you can finish the quest faster.

A few days ago me and a friend of mine found a great use for this chopper. While mounted, target yourself and use the command /follow, doing so will make your chopper go into a spin cycle, spinning much faster than any mount out there. I believe this only works with the chopper for now, my friend had a traveler's mammoth and while it technically did the same effect it had a much more spastic movement. Also if you have a person in the sidecar, it will spin clockwise, whereas if you target yourself, you will go counter-clockwise. Guaranteed (almost) to make ya hurl! Try it in first person as well!

just tested this out: Hunters, it stacks with your aspect of the pack, so you can get a 130% mount, and if you get dazed, you don't slow down! Enjoy until 3.1. because they'll change the chopper to regular mount (it's a vehicle now) so this won't be possible any more :(

I've been trying to look up about shadow priests riding these choppers, usually when 'we' mount up the whole mount gets shadowformed as well but is this the case with the chopper? I'm hoping it could be different as it is a 'vehicle'.

I don't know if anyone previously specified this, but if you're a hunter you can use Aspect of the Pack or Aspect of the Cheeta, while riding this mount, which means your mount speed will be 130%... or 138% if you have 2 talent points in Pathfinding.

EDIT: Only Aspect of the Pack works, because the chopper will get the buff from the hunter, while Aspect of the Cheeta only applies to the hunter and not the chopper.

Also if you get hit while riding your chopper in Aspect of the Pack you will be dazed but speed won't slow down because chopper isn't dazed.

There seems to be a slight bug with this chopper and the normal DK flying mount, if you mount up onto your chopper, then without dismounting, mount your winged steed, you end up on your flying mount but still on the chopper, looks pretty weird, though you cant fly anywhere sadly. then if you dismount from the chopper by clicking the key again ( not the dismount button ) you end up not on any mount but still able to fly (or swim if you like) through the air.

Since Patch 3.1 this mount no longer acts as a vehicle as it did before, meaning there is no more dismount animation which took quite a bit of time and was very unuseful in PVP (now dismounting is just like any other mount)... this also means that now you take fall dmg (this sux allot since I used to go jump off mountains, do a sort of mountain bike-riding :P)... anyway it also means that the Aspect Of The Pack buff no longer applies to the mount in case of hunters, so no more 130% speed mount for hunters... also means chopper will increase or decrease size of the owner who's using it (for instance if you're smaller the chopper will get smaller... b4 3.1 chopper would remain the same size no matter your size).

Anyway I'm quite pleased with the new chopper, they made a cool animation of when your party mate joins you on the chopper and when he leaves, it's pretty cool how the extra space opens and closes up.

They also made a little bike icon that appears on the right side of the screen where you can see if you have or haven't got any passenger on your chopper... and also you have the option to eject your passenger from there... pretty nice ^^

The level 70 engineer's flightmachine is receivable by AH for non engineer's also. The inscription of the item is not telling us it's an engineer-only item. I'm busy farming gold and trade the gold for the chopper in once after (what I expect) 2 days of requesting it in the trade channel on my server. I love this item, and also the level 70 flightmachine is on my buy list! In my opinion it's the most nice and fun mount to have! Even more fun then the vendor mount which carrys 2 NPC's and which is quite alot more gold then this piece of metal! Can't wait to have it, love to see the screenshots!

I'm pretty sure the mount will be somewhat more common on the AH because in ulduar if you kill the Flame leviathin and use your eng on him he has a chance to drop pieces for the chopper same with the xt002 deconstructor or w.e his name is, so if you run ulduar ALOT and your friend is an Eng then im pretty sure we'll be seeing a whole lot more of these.

My shammie got one a couple of weeks ago. It's so cool. But I have a secret to confess. I researched the mats for a mecannohog, not a chopper. I thought the in-game bike was a mecannohog and that the chopper was some kind of dumb helicopter flyer. So when I had spent weeks saving the gold and asked someone to make me a hog, I was shocked to see he'd made a chopper (about a month's worth of saving on three toons down the drain was what was going through my mind at the time). I didn't trade with him for a couple of minutes while we had a conversation about whether alliance could have a hog. Anyways, I finally said I'd take it and would try to trade it for a hog. We traded and I checked prices on both Alli and Horde AH. THEN it finally occurred to me to look it up on WoWhead. I felt like such a $%^&... I have since thanked the maker profusely many, many times but have never confessed why I baulked... until now.
Moral of the story: look up everything, especially when it costs that much. I now nearly have enough to buy one for my DK :)

Bought this mount from the Auction Housefor 15,500 gold pieces, which I think is pretty fair since most sell them for 16,800 or even more. It's a bit too much money for the amount of fun you get, but the fair side is that it is indeed fun. Gotta love how this chopper is designed, how it, like most engineered devices in World of Warcraft, shakes and squeaks and looks like the pieces are about to be shaken off but won't be.

I also noticed something else, most mounts are affected by global cooldowns, except for flying mounts. (Atleast the gryphon ones as far I know.) But this is one of the few ground mounts that isn't affected either. So, I could just, for example, renew my buffs and emmidiatly start summoning my mount, while with my Talbuk mount, I had to wait until the (Luckily very short.) global cooldown was over. This might be a tiny advantage in battlegrounds, but not sure if it'll have that great of an effect.

This sounds on this thing are bugged since 3.2. Everything seems to be playing a second late (driving, jumping and landing). I even managed to drive around completely silent by hitting forward + jump every time I landed. The choppa without a proper sound is not worth it imo. Hope they fix it soon.

Chopper. Two passenger mount. People in your group can ride in your side car. Don't have to be an engineer to have and use one. Do have to be an engineer to make one. Don't have to own one to ride in someone else's. Gives an achievement to have it: Tutti in sella!.

(Engineers Only) Get to 450 Ingegneria.
(Engineers Only) Buy (and learn) Schema: Dueruote del Mekgeniere. This requires Avanguardia dell'Alleanza Exalted. Easiest way to get this rep to Exalted is to do heroic dungeons at level 80 without wearing one of the tabards that changes the default rep into a different rep. You can also quest for it.
Gather 12x Lingotto di Titanacciaio, 40x Manciata di Viti di Cobalto, 2x Pelliccia Artica. Hopefully you can figure out how to do this on your own.
Save up 12500 gold or the following items: Parti di Golem di Ferro Recuperate will cost 3000 gold. 8x Pistone dei Goblin Fatto a Macchina will cost 1000 gold each for a total of 8000 gold. Tubo di Scarico Placcato in Elementio will cost 1500 gold. Finding any of these mats for cheaper than the listed price on the Auction House is unlikely, but possible*, so make sure you check because it could save you money. Obviously, don't buy them for more than the listed price. Duh.
The parts listed in Step 4 can only be bought from Roxi Montorazzo in K3 by an Engineer who has completed Step 2. So if you are not an Engineer, you will have to give your gold to the Engineer making this for you, and they can buy them from the NPC.** (Note that Tubo di Scarico Placcato in Elementio, the part that costs 1500 gold, is limited supply so has a chance of not being available. However, because of the rarity of choppers anyway, it is usually available regardless. If the Engineer says it's not available, take their word for it and try again in a couple hours or the next day.)
The mats from Steps 4/5 and Step 3 will be used to make the chopper. If, more than likely, you are at K3 when you have collected your final mats, there is an anvil within K3 the chopper can be made at.

*The mats in Steps 4/5 used to be additionally available from deconstructing (the Engineering version of Skinning) certain bosses in Ulduar, specifically Flame Leviathan as the most common. Not sure which patch changed this, but this is no longer the case. Now that Roxi Ramrocket is the only source of these mats, you will practically never see them on the Auction House anymore. However, since these mats are bought from a vendor, the guild perk can be used for a discount. No other forms of discounts are currently known. If you do not have this perk, you can check the Auction House to see if someone who does is selling at a discount. Since it could potentially save you money, why not check?

**Make sure you protect yourself! If you get scammed, GM's can and will take action to get your gold and/or mats back, just open a ticket. In order for them to confirm it was a scam, make sure the entire transaction is negotiated using in-game text chat so the GM can read the chat log and confirm that you have been scammed. (Hopefully this won't happen anyway, but 12.5k is a respectable chunk of money, so make sure to cover your bases.) This 'scam protection' is provided for all forms of scams, including the 'give you the mats to make an item and you keep them and give me nothing' scam, as scamming is against the ToS!

I recommend, for Engineers making this for yourself, after you make your first one, check your realm to see if there's anyone willing to buy this for extremely high prices (like, 20k or higher, perhaps even 30k). If you get enough profit, make another one and attempt to sell it. Keep going until you don't get any buyers for awhile, making and selling one by one, and then if you go a long time and can't sell your current one for a profit, THEN learn it yourself.

...both mount up, then use your Orb of the Sin'dorei / Iron Boot Flask - other costumes/transformations that don't get you off the mount will probably work (i.e. not shapeshifts).

As of 3.2, this will loosen some of the chopper's bolts and give them some dirt in the face!

Here are all the tips and tricks I found out about this on my night elf druid.

First off, I am an engineer so thats how some of these work.
The person riding with you can do a variety of things, like /dance, /cower, /train, was pretty epic for when I was a troll from the teleporter debuff for me to dance while a buddy of mine was driving his chopper through the minefield, Storm Peaks, you could make a video of stepping on a landmine there, we however, didn't just last on one mine, but we almost blew up each and everyone mine in a consecutive leap of explosive and falling damage, was pretty epic, but you might want to have a good deal of health before trying something like that.

1. Using an Iron Boot Flask, you can turn into an iron dwarf that is standing up and driving the chopper, also making your current passenger upside down, removing the buff makes you your normal form again, and causes the same effect again.

2. For Druids: Go to Krasus' Landing or anywhere your allowed to fly, Shapeshift into Flight Form, queue for a dungeon, ( I'm a tank so I can do this almost instantly :P ) finish the dungeon, mount up on anything, I go on my chopper, then use the eye thing on your minimap to teleport out of dungeon, without making your chopper buff go away, then.... Bird on a Chopper! 60% Flying speed, 100% Ground Speed, but hey, it can carry a passenger!

3. For Engineers/Restoration Druids/Balance Druids: You might have seen a moonkin that is in a sidecar, but seen one that is driving? First off, you have to either be a goblin or gnome engineer, use your Ultrasafe Teleporter : Toshley's Station or that other goblin thingy, to teleport to Area 52, once you get a transporter malfunction, where your character is mixed up with the last person to use it, A.K.A turning into a tauren, hearth or go where you want to go, don't go Bear/Seal/Cat/Flight form, but Moonkin and Tree of Life persist through the malfunction debuff, and just causes an illusion, so you can get on a chopper, while in moonkin form, with the debuff, once the effect is gone, you become an actual moonkin/tree on whatever mount you picked.

4. For Engineers/Mages: When your falling with a passenger, and are about to go splat, use your parachute cloak or slowfall to live, your friend will take moderate damage, and will most likely survive the impact, in rare cases, you die and passenger takes little or no damage, Dalaran sewer skydiving FTW

For those players being the passengers and using Action Bar mods like Bartender and having troubles to dismount.
They removed the mount buff that passengers had to dismount (Riding Shotgun), which is similar to the rider's buff.

Instead they moved this function to the vehicle bar and if you have made the vehicle bar invisible then there are two options to resolve the issue. Either make the bar visible or target the rider and right click on his unit frame. He alone will have an option called "Leave". This will NOT make you leave the party but instead leave the vehicle.

Applies to all vehicle mounts.

the mount costs (12.000g-16.000g) and can be found usually on auction house in limited supply, it is by far the most expensive mount that can be made by a player and it is in fact a 2 passenger mount. If you are a mount collector then go for it and start farming g,however,if you dont own a great black war mamouth or a tundra travelers mamouth then you should better get travelers tundra mamouth since it is a 3 passenger mount and it also has vendors on it on which you can repair or buy food and drinks, the price of the mount wont probaply be reduced on cataclysm since engineers would still make a great efford on trying to make one of those

Will the value of this go down after most players hit 85? ( note that I say "value" not price )

My reasons for asking:
1. The value of the mats will go down in comparison to the more important ones for lvs 80-85.
2. After cataclysm, everyone will have more money in general, as has been seen in the last expansions, therefore the parts for the chopper bought from a vendor will not contribute to the price of the chopper as much as before.
3. Im expecting other rare items such as Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw) to increase in price quite a lot once people build up on gold, as their value will stay the same as they are rare drops whose occurrence will not be altered by Cataclysm. Even though the Chopper is not a rare drop and is crafted, it may still hold its value after Cataclysm.

Got a guildy to craft this for my Human Warrior after generously being given ALL the mats for this by the guild bank for christmas, i must say it's excellent. I find myself riding round everywhere even thought it's 3X slower than my master flying just to listen to the bike and watch it's riding animation.

I'd reccomend people who are in hardcore raiding guilds that have had ulduar on farm for a long time check their guild bank, you may be able to get the mats free / for a cheaper price and could get this mount made for you <3.

Worgens are not allowed to learn the recipe for this mount, nor are goblins allowed to learn the horde equivalent.

The weirdest thing is, both are allowed to have the mount, just not the recipe to craft it. My buddy who race-changed to a female worgen just got this ride yesterday, while the recipe from my proffesion window is gone (I also received fur implants)

Anyone ever put one of these on the Blackwater (Neutral) Auction House? Does it still convert to the Horde version?

I'm curious if a Horde player will see it as a Mekgineer's Chopper or as a Mechano-Hog, and if the former will it convert to the Horde version immediately after collecting it from the mail, or only after use?

I don't have the disposable gold to test it, but I am curious...

EDIT: As of patch 5.1, the Mekgineer's Chopper and the Mechano-Hog are fully shared across accounts. If you have one on one faction, you will have it's counterpart on the other faction.

Broken-down mats, for those of us who have a multitude of alts, just for grinding out materials...

Titansteel is made by miners. 1 Titansteel = 3 Titanium. Alchemists can make Titanium by transmutation (8 saronite per 1 titanium, no cooldown.)

So to make 12 titansteel bars, you will need 288 Saronite BARS. 2 Saronite per bar. 576 Saronite ore.

Arctic fur can be found, however it is rare. You can trade in 10 heavy borean leather for 1 arctic fur. A leatherworker can make 1 heavy borean leather with 6 regular borean leather.

This mount was originally NOT going to be on the list of account-wide mounts in Mists of Pandaria. However, a decision was quite recently made to change this:

I suspect this mount will become more popular again seeing as how you can't fly in Pandaria until level 90. Taking a gamble and making a couple of these to sell when Mists comes might be a good idea.

I just wanted to chime in on the economics of chopper production (and sale).

You incur 12,500 gp in incompressible cost when you buy the necessary parts from Roxi Ramrocket.

The rest is 12 Titansteel bars, 40 cobalt bolts and 2 arctic furs.
Even if you are a miner and have a skinner alt/buddy, never assume those are free.

If, say, the titansteel bars sell for 200 gold after cut at the Auction House (and I mean "sell", not just "are listed") and cobalt ore sells at 5 gold a pop, and arctic fur for 100 gold each, the total cost of production is:
12,500 + 12x200 + 5x40 + 2x100 = 15,300 gold.
The rationale is that you could have sold the parts even if you farmed them yourself. And don't even get me started on the cost of opportunity: farming takes time and you could theoretically farm more cost-efficient materials in the same time (volatiles, cataclysm herbs, ores, leathers and cloth.)

take the 5% auction house cut from the total and that means it must sell for more than 16,105 if you want to make a profit.

Don't ever sell those at the neutral auction house. The cut is nasty and Horde races cannot even ride those bad boys anyway.

On my server, they typically sell for 19K (18K after house cut) and they are few and far between.
You can systematically undercut the competition, especially if you have the remote auction house, because cancelling and relisting costs you only 1 silver.

Bottom line: Check the material prices and buy them en masse if they are low. Keep in mind your margin.
I think this is one of the very few money-making opportunities for us engineers.

If you have access to an Alchemist with a skill of 395 or higher then you can make use of the Transmute: Titanium spell to produce your Titansteel a lot easier. With the removal of Cooldown in Cata, now you just need a pile of Saronite and the various Eternal elements. With the mining skill, you can just loop Wintergrasp over and over outside of combat hours and rake in all the components. It's better if your faction holds Wintergrasp at the time as that means you can kill the Flame Revenants for Crystallized Fire.

Keep in mind if you play both factions that while the Mekgineers Chopper/Mechano-Hog is account wide, it will only be for the original faction you brought it for.

For example, my Alliance Mage had brought a Mekgineers Chopper back in Wrath, and that was the only Chopper I ever brought. Now that 5.0 has hit, all of my Alliance characters have access to the mount at level 40, but it does not even appear for any of my Horde characters. It's the same story for the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, as there is a Horde and Alliance version.

Now that 5.0.4 is live this mount is shared across the account assuming the characters are of the same faction as the owner of the mount. Not sure if it's intentional or not but my Horde character has the Mechanohog but none of my alliance characters have access to the Chopper, again not sure if it's intentional but with the two having separate spell id's I wouldn't be too surprised if it is.

You now only need to get the chopper or hog and it will transfer over to the opposite faction. I saw the hog in my journal after 5.1 when it previously had not been. I was about to give in and farm for the hog, thank god I didnt.

If you have the Mekgineer's Chopper, your Horde characters can use the Mechano Hog and Vice Versa. Blizz really gave us a good deal on that one.

Turns out that Geosynchronus World Spinner, This mount, and Depleted-Kyparium Rocket all have a (very low) chance to drop from a Regalo di Orotron 4000 a day.

Wowhead says the drop rate is 0%, but people have reported looting this from a gift package and wowhead lists the 3 mounts under "contains in" on the gift box. Chances are blizz might remove those items from the loot table in a patch, so if you have a Orotron 4000, make sure you set it down in a populated area (trade district for example) every four hours so everyone can have a chance at looting these expensive mounts!

Hint:(for those of you who might not know or are new, the gifts come from the daily quest "Orotron 4000" which is given out by the npc Blingtron 4000..engineers can make the remote to summon this guy, and everyone in his vicinity can complete his quest once a day for the gift which has a chance at containing many things (See the loot table here))

P.S. This gift can also drop an Orb of Mystery which is the main money draining item when it comes to making Mists of Pandaria's crafted mounts if you don't get either of the rocket mounts linked above, but you get this, be grateful because to make the rockets you need 2 of these orbs which cost 120kg each. I can officially confirm that this mount will change into the other Faction's counterpart when you learn one of them, making this mount Account wide and also Faction wide.

I searched all over the web and no one had this information so I decided to craft one for myself, and both of my Alliance and Horde characters are able to use it just fine.

The best way to get the mount is to have a guildy make it for you. In all the mount costs roughly 12k gold to make.

I had some problems yesterday running quests with a friend on the chopper. On a very regular basis the chopper bugged out. I would dismount and the bike would still be under me, I couldn't remount (i could summon any mount but the chopper model stayed and i was stuck at walking speed). This was exacerbated when i tried to take a flight to the cape of stranglethorn and instead of the taxi i still had the chopper under me (see screenshot) also i was still travelling at walking speed. Yup that's right, the taxi was the chopper and it went at 100% speed......

As of Panda this mount can be shared account-wide. However, it cannot be LEARNED by anyone under 40. You must learn it on a higher level character and then the lower level will be able to mount on it. It will still be a 60% mount, but you can take a passenger!

You can become rich if you know how to craft this awesome mount fast.

Schema: Dueruote del Mekgeniere you can get from Ufficiale Logistico Brighton or Ufficiale Logistico Adamas. You will need «Exalted» reputation with Avanguardia dell'Alleanza.

Non-craftable ingredients cost 12500 gold.
You can buy them from Roxi Montorazzo. Or from Grande Keech in Pandaria (90 lvl needed).
Also you can get them from mech bosses' bodies in Ulduar but drop chance is low.

Titalsteel — I advice you to farm Saronite as well as Titanium because you can ask alchemists to transmute it (no cooldown).
8 Lingotto di Saronite for 1 Lingotto di Titanio.

If to suggest that all the Lingotto di Titanacciaio (12) will be obtained through transmutation,you will need 576 Minerale di Saronite => 288 bars => 36 Lingotto di Titanio for 12 Titansteel.
I usually get 5-7 Titansteel from this transmutation, and the rest from plain Titanium bars.

For 12 Lingotto di Titanacciaio you will need 12 Terra Eterna Ombra Eterna Fuoco Eterno each. You can farm elementals in Wintergrasp.
The highest drop: Revenant elementals (big ones), but they’re available only if your fraction is the winner.

If you don't want to farm these elements, you can buy them on the auction house, but this is not the only way.
Frozo il Rinomato in Dalaran trades Eternal elements for 1 Globo Congelato, which is obtainable for 75 gold from Arcanista Ivrenne.
So if the cost of some Eternal element on auction house is higher than the cost of Globo Congelato — go Frozen orbs way.
(!) There is a reason to buy more Fuoco Eterno from Frozo, because Terra Cristallizzata and Ombra Cristallizzata drop from saronite and titanium, and Fuoco Cristallizzato drops only from rare titanium veins.

Summary

Spend 12500 on special ingredients.
Farm Titanium and Saronite, farm elementals in Wintergrasp (optionally)
Get 2 Pelliccia Artica. You can buy them from Braeg Barbaforte in Dalaran for 10 Cuoio Boreale Pesante.
optional Trade Frozen Orbs for Eternal elements.
40 Manciata di Viti di Cobalto = farming Cobalt in Zul’Drak and Howling Fjord.
They also drop from mech bosses in Ulduar.

Blizz must have added the possibility along with Sky-Bo in the 6.0 patch, which I was hoping to get. Sold it in trade chat to a lucky SOB for 12K since I already have the mount.

i am not a fan of the new 6.0 chopper moving sounds, its too quiet.
they should switch leave it alone (switch it back), or implement the new Horde/Alliance chopper sounds to this chopper

I am now spooked by the fact that this chopper moves on it's own in my stables, feeding and preparing for his revenge for all those times I've gone offroad with it. These might be my last words so if I'm not heard from again, prepare for the invasion.

Back in Warth when I was a nub, I saw a Blingtron! This robotic man offered me a gift, so I accepted it. When I opened it I saw this item. I learned it right away. (I had no idea what it was or what a Blingtron was and it was my first one, you can call me lucky but I think it's fate!Jk owo)

I already have this mount but I just got a second out of a Blingtron 7000 Gift Box. Didn't know you could get it from there and was pleasantly surprised. Would have been better if I didn't already have it but looks like I can put it in the auction house.

It's been years and many expansions but this is still one my favorite mounts. It looks great, it's not too big which means it fits everywhere and it feels faster than larger mounts. I love it.
