Although he's a robot, the mechanical squirrel behaves like all the other critter squirrels in game. It sits up on its hind legs and grooms with its "front paws", twitches and sniffs the air.

A very cute vanity pet and compliments the colours of the warlock Felheart Raiment nicely!

This pet sells for 1 gold or more...........i suggest that u should keep your 1st one . Money isnt everything.

I made several of these. The good thing is most of the mats are quite cheap. plus no one seems to sell them, so ive been selling them at 3g a pop. a pretty easy way to make money sellin em.

Yes these are great for making money. you can be making 1g 50s from these things each (thats what ive been selling them for). fantastic for beginners and because it only requires eng 75. u can be lvl10 and you be racking in the gold :)

not to mention thier properly one of the more cooler pets and they have a good run speed. ive had a few pets where even walking they get lost.

The Mechanical Squirrel is one of 5 engineer-made pets. The other 4 are:

Pet Bombling, learned from a schematic which can only be acquired by Goblin engineers.
Lil' Smoky, learned from a schematic which can only be acquired by Gnome engineers.
Lifelike Mechanical Toad, learned from a world drop schematic.
Tranquil Mechanical Yeti, learned from completing a quest.

Engineers can also make Mechanical Dragonling, Mithril Mechanical Dragonling, Arcanite Dragonling, and Gnomish Battle Chicken, however these are not vanity pets and cannot be summoned for longer than 1 minute (but they do fight for you).

There are other mechanical pets in the game that are not made by engineers:
Mechanical Chicken, a quest reward.
Rocket Chicken, from a TCG loot card.
Clockwork Rocket Bot, from the 2007 Feast of Winter Veil. Can no longer be acquired.

I don't know if it's just me or not, but this pet currently seems to have a glitch. When I go to summon it, its picture is HUGE. You can't even see its head. Highly amusing, but I doubt it will last.

People underestimate this companion. You can buy the mats on the AH for less then 10g and earn 200g for it. I'm also the only seller almost on the server so selling this make it easier in a matter of a day or two.

I had several of these on various characters and since Mists loaded they are available as battle pets - pretty effective, too. The tool tip on another box says I have 3/3.

2 Lingotto di Rame (one to make a Manciata di Viti di Rame) and 2 Malachite (for the eyes). That's all it takes to build a Scoiattolo Meccanico. The only reason it sells for more than a handful of gold coins is that Schema: Scatola per Scoiattolo Meccanico is a rare drop.

The pet is cute, although its abilities are fairly standard. But care is easy: just wind it now and then.
