unless i'm missing something, this is a REAL pain pre-77 (when you can use your flying mount again).

i scouted it out on my 78 and the only way i could find to get there involved going the long way around the zone because i couldn't find a cut-through directly between the argent vanguard post and icecrown citadel. my 70 hunter was able to get most of the way there with little trouble (luckily shadowmeld doesn't have the high resist rate FD does against those high level mobs)... until i got to the western side of my 3/4 circle around the zone >< densely packed mobs that do that same horrible slowing shout as the fallen heroes in EPL (the ones that pop when you pick up blood of heroes) with lots of elites in the mix, too (the "conflagration" area).

the altar itself is surrounded by lvl 80 mobs, i can't imagine making the cloth would be very doable as a solo 70ish char... i logged my main out there while i ran my alt over, switched back and killed everything, then back to the alt to make the cloth.

Easy Directions:

The entrance is in Icecrown on the ground @ or

Jump down the big hole @ (not sure if there are any tricks to not dying, i just levitate as a priest)

The altar is @

There is a portal to get back to the surface @

EDIT: As of patch 3.08 this is no longer made at the location above. Ebonweave is now crafted in Dragonblight @

Just to make things crystal clear for tailors regarding specialization (2 procs instead of one).

If you're Spellfire spec you are immediately Spellweave spec.

If you're Shadoweave spec then you're Ebonweave spec.

And the same with Mooncloth, you're Moonshroud.

Hope this clears things up, I know it took me a little while to confirm but for those like me who were ignorant to their spell book it states in there when you hover over your cloth specialization button.

EDITING TO ADD:
You can wear whatever armor from Moonshroud, Ebonweave & Spellweave. There's no Burning Crusade restrictions anymore. The only thing that you are doing when you specialize in a particular cloth is getting that additional proc.

This may seem a little obvious, but you can fly down the hole. Rather than dropping from the top and worrying about hitting the water, just fly straight down the middle until it forces you to dismount. You'll be able to see the pool by then and know exactly where you're going to land.

Go to the GROUND (the icy ground floor in icecrown at 50: 85. There you will see an opening in the framework to go INTO the middle of the temple. Go down that path.

This area (the altar) is amazing for MINERS

Every time I am there I see 1-2 Rich Saronite Nodes, I guess they also can be Titanium

Almost no tailorer is also a miner, and few people even know the spot.

There is a way to get here at low levels which is rather straightforward, at least if you are a mage or priest.
Slow fall off the tower in Dalaran towards the Citadel. There is a path up through the mountains that you can find, basically following the large snowfields. There are a few tricky parts where you'll be jumping around a bit on your mount but it's very doable. You can end up on the upper platform of the Citadel, there are no mobs there. Hop down, depending on what quest phasing you have (at this level, none) there are very few mobs around the abyss. Once under it, it's a matter of timing the Faceless lurkers wandering and running over to the alter to make your cloth.

Now you have to be at Maw of Neltharion instead, much easier to get there. This change will come in patch 3.0.8 ;)

For pre-3.0.8 Tailors:
If you somehow manage to get down into the Citadel before you have flying, for instance, at level 70, you will encounter level 80 mobs down there. When they kill you, you appear ALIVE back at the Spirit Healer.

Thus it is basically impossible to craft this (pre 3.0.8) unless you are level 77 and have cold weather flying.

Creating all three cloths ties in really nicely with Alchemy. Say you've just crafted 3 of each. There is now a 4 day cooldown before more can be crafted.

Alchemy can transmute Eternal Life into Eternal Shadow/Fire. 2 of each are needed. One transmute can occur per day. Gather 6 Eternal Life's, and spend the next four days transmuting them into the required fires & shadows. By the time you've finished the transmutes, your cloth cooldown in up. Hooray!

Okay, to clear this up Andrion Darkspinner ( http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=22212 ) Gives you a quest at 350 Tailoring to become a Shadoweave Tailor. This just means you can create one additional Ebonweave, but you can only make ONE Moonshroud and ONE Spellweave per 4 days.

Just had a little trouble starting from the beginning trying to get the spec.

This seems to be one of the more valuable cd cloths that tailors can make, so it is nice to spec shadowweave tailoring while leveling so that an occasional trip to the maw of netharion can net more than 200g, depending on market prices. A very nice way to make money for leveling repair bills so that a character can save for cold weather flying or other things

I'm a shadoweave tailor and I'm curious what others think a decent price to charge would be for this cool-down. Being a shadoweave tailor, people expect to get 2 pieces of cloth, but I have no idea what a good price is, considering the lengthy cool-down...

Looks like Patch 3.3.3 will be removing the cooldown and location requirements for all these cloths. Sell em now if you got them stocked up cause the market will drop sharply once this happens.
