Putting these on in major cities will reduce the loading lag significantly. If you have outfit addons, you can set up events to automatically equip them in cities.

Ive been having trouble with this question that people keep giving me mixed answers about. Where it says "Requires Enginering" does that mean that you have to have enginnering to just create it and anyone, even people who dont have the engineering proffesion, can wear it or does it mean only engineers can wear it?

IMO:

It's a crutch for people with machines that can't handle large amounts of rendering.

It effectively allows people with incapable machines to run raids without having so much graphics lag that they can't even tell what is happening.

Sure you lose a helm slot, but for some people it could be the only good option for running in a large raid.

They do actually work, but tabards are made of lead and so they remain visible. One of the few items that Gnomes have over the rest of the world.

These are not cloth / leather / mail / plate, but they do have a stat that is green, namely "armor". This is not a holiday item, its a profession item, so my fingers are crossed that this will be open for transmogging when 4.3 comes around.

Changed today with 5.1 to be on-use and no longer equippable. Now you can use them in battleground and raids without a stat reduction!

The effect replaces your helmet model and looks just like wearing the old version. You still see players wearing nothing but underwear and tabards. The effect has no time limit but disappears on death.

These goggles are trained at any Engineering trainer at 350 skill points, if you have chosen the Gnomish Engineering spec, instead of Goblin.

They are crafted with:
- 6x Lingotto di Titanio
- 2x Frammento Onirico
- 2x Manciata di Viti di Cobalto
Requires you to be next to an Anvil, and have a Martello da Fabbro, anywhere in your inventory, this doesn't get removed when you craft the item.

Additional Notes:
- You MUST have 350 Engineering and be a Gnomish Engineer you use this.
- When used, it will display as a buff, and all players will apear with no armor on, though still has weapon / shields.
- These are Bind on Pickup; you cannot trade them.
- Does not work on NPCs.
- When used, you will have goggles on your head, other players can see this too, though they cannot see what you see though the goggles.

Too bad it is only for engineers...
In raids or crowded areas like holiday event logations where you have to run around for a long time it is overburdening for a LOT of PCs to load lots of high definition armor sets with the new HD characer models too.
By switching off the new models and activating this toy you can save your PC from serious heating and lifespan decreasing while you are doing your event dailies...
Although those flashy mounts will still burden your performance and hardware greatly.
