A new and improved version of Vial of the Sunwell, I can see this being very useful, would like it on my priest.

- 1 min cooldown as opposed to the vial having 2 minutes.
- 54 mp/5 , very decent.
- a nice heal to throw on your main target when combined with a HoT or shield to patch someone up.

Everyone likes more security and staying power, this offers both, dont pass it up, take it as soon as you have the opportunity, but dont forget to let lesser geared players have it before you, greed is bad, sharing is good <3.

LOVELY item. I belive paladins will do anything in this life to get one of these. For priests there is slightly better trinkets, I belive. crit / spirit trinkets would benefit more in the long run, but theres not many spirit trinkets that could top the regen you get from this.
Edit: on a side note, this trinket seems WAY overpowered for pvp!

perfect trinket for Disc priests here. yes there are probably better but macro this onto something like Desperate prayer or use it within a power word shield macro for example (does it use GCD?) and that's a nice heal coupled with shielding.

the Mp5 for a disc priest is fantastic as we wont be OO5SR any time soon within a boss fight. Disc and paladins will be hunting for it i assume.

If it is a yes than it would be more useful for pvp and certain fight with silence

In my honest opinion:

If the trinket is affected by SP (which I doubt), it might find a place in a decent healers trinket slot.

If not, it should be relegated to PvP duties. It doesn't offer enough practical application - a tiny *oh crap* effect, and mp5. It could possibly be used by a shaman due to the sheer amount of mp5. But pallies need very little mp5 anymore thanks to Divine Plea, and druids and priests have better trinkets out there for regen.

For shamans they can actually get slightly more heal value from this. While it doesn't benefit from spell power it receives some from the shaman talent Purification. Meaning normal hits it always heals for 2981 and crits for 4471.

As a resto shaman i can't wait to get my hands on this...macro it with riptide and if both crit you might actually see 4k from riptide (that's how much i crit at the moment) and probably 3.5-4k crit from trinket (seeing as resto shamans are stacking crit now) and you're looking at a 7-8k heal...pretty nice imo

This item is excellent in PVP.It will be the only reason for me to go to that raid.
the 1minite cooldown heal is very useful anyway,much better than the Battlemasters.The 43mp5 is pretty decent too,as for a mage running out of mana too fast is always a very big problem in PVP.and this will help a little.
God damn.I really hate raids.

It is not affected by spellpower, however is does seem to be affected by the druid tree aura of +6% healing and it CAN crit.

The mana regen is nice, using this and a another nice trinket on my druid then I have 1150 / 515 mp/5 without food and without priest spirit buffs. Basically I just cannot run out of mana.

As Druid lack direct healing spells (even Nourish is quite slow) it can come in handy, and it pretty good for PVP.

As for the raid, Malygos is a fairly straight forward fight. We spent 2hrs+ wiping and trying different strategies before we downed him. Now we have that sorted it is literally a 10minute fight from entry to leaving with loot!

Despite everything said about this not increasing with spellpower, it is consistently healing for A LOT more than it should for me so I decided to do some testing.

Initial Amount: 3517

Took off all my gear.

Naked Amount: 3518

Conclusion: Does not scale with gear.

OK, so, where is the extra healing coming from? Talents obviously; so I head to the trainer and unlearn my talents.

Untalented, naked amount: 3198

Wait, doesn't the heal say 2700? This is nearly 500 over the listed amount, with NO gear on and NO talents. The only conclusion I can make from this is that this trinket MAY be affected by Mixology, the alchemy bonus. My shaman is an alch, I'd unlearn it to test but yeah, no.

So...Confused...

Going for it to build a regen set for Ulduar, but since since 25 man is so easy mode now and consumables aren't even needed at this point I wont give up spell power yet for it.

Just tested this as a ENHANCE specced shaman (aka no +heal talents) and it consitently heals me for 2710 unless it crits, on a side note, Earthliving can proc of the LIC use.

A note: this is, as of 3.1, going to be a really, really sought-after trinket. Blizzard has noticed the excess of healer mana regeneration and are nerfing both OO5SR spirit-based regen and Divine Plea. They want running oom to be a serious concern for raiders again. You're going to see even paladins stacking mp5.

DP is going to go from a 20% healing reduction to 50%-- ouch.

I don't think you understand the "nerf". In present PvE situations going OOM isn't a real concern on most boss fights. Blizzard is "nerfing" it so that mana becomes more of a resource that needs managing. As long as you aren't a retard, mp5 still shouldn't be a major problem. Just stop over healing so much.

Let's be fair here-- we don't know what Ulduar will contain. If they pull out a boss that requires constant healing like Sapphiron, or enormous spikes like Brutallus, there's a very real chance that the encounter will be designed so that healers going oom signifies the end of an attempt. At the very least, early attempts on such a boss might have that problem. I'm not saying that mp5 will become the top stat to look for, but that it will have more value than it currently does (read: almost none). "Stop overhealing so much" is good advice for new healers, but if you had ever healed a boss with rapid, massive spikes, you'd know that sometimes the risk of overhealing is far outweighed by the risk of not casting fast enough and losing the tank. I think "serious raiders" will hold their opinions until we see what kind of gear requirements Ulduar puts on healers.

Just like I used to have a Vial of the Sunwell self-casting macro for Felmyst's Encapsulates, I use the same macro with LIC.

While every healing class can benefit from MP5 I suppose, I would say it would benefit a Disc healing priest the most as we don't receive the bonus from Spirit and therefore don't (and you shouldn't as Disc) stack it. Then again that's my opinion from the POV of a Disc priest. I'm not a druid, and I'm not a pally -- and I can't speak for them.

I suppose if you really have an issue w/MP5... I just can't see this being taken over other trinkets that proc on cast.

Figurine - Sapphire Owl with 2 +16 int gems in it is still holding the trinket slot this would go in.

Then again, I'm disc. I'd still say this trinket is pretty meh for Holy, unless you just didn't itemize properly and regen like a mage.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but it doesn't seem that you can use this (the use effect, the heal) while you have Nature's Swiftness active.

As a holy priest I will not be rolling on this.
This should go to a shaman or a paladin (shaman probably prefered).

Priests and druids should be going for the Majestic Dragon Figurine instead.

Even so, atm this trinket doesnt seem an worthy tradeoff over the remaining choices.

2710 is the heal, how much mana would we spend to heal the same amount? I ask on behalf of druids.

if we compare to a Nourish that heals for 10k at the cost of 683mana, thats 14.65health per mana, or 0.0683mana per health.

so.. a 2710 heal should cost about 185mana
thats 185mana saved per 60secs, and that equals 15.4mp5

So, infact the mp5 from this trinket is more then just 54mp5, its 69.4mp5
