You think? IMO, it's worth using it, because every mp5 bonus is a +.. Then again, I'm not a healer expert and I have no clue about WotLK scaling, so I can't say for sure

Alchemy's Mixology passive effect increases the duration of all flasks by 2 extra hours, therefore lasting 4 hours. This effect is only active if the alchemist uses a flask they themselves have the ability to make. Otherwise, they maintain the 2 hour duration on a flask they cannot make themselves.

I know this has little to nothing to do with the effectiveness of the flask, but just thought I'd mention that if the flask was in effect for the whole duration (i.e. no deaths and never at full mana) it would restore 54720 mana. And for alchemists with the Mixology passive it would restore 109440 mana.
Now that's a lot of mana!

As an Alchemist with Mixology you gain 51 mp5 instead of the standard 38 mp5 from this flask.

Under what (broad) circumstances is this better than the SP flask (and vice versa)?

I'm guessing the Mp5 is a tad more useful for healers and SP is a tad more useful for caster DPS? (even though both groups can obviously benefit from both flasks)

As of 3.1.0, the duration of Flask of Pure Mojo will be reduced to 1 hour/flask. Do not worry though, as the mats will stay the same and you will be able to make 2 flasks instead of 1.

We realize players who currently have stockpiled a lot of flasks may feel like they will lose money with this change, since their current flasks will only last for half as long once 3.1.0 goes live. To partially remedy this, we are going to allow players to exchange any current Northrend flasks (Flask of the Frost Wyrm, Flask of Stoneblood, Flask of Endless Rage and Flask of Pure Mojo) for two flasks with the shorter duration. Flasks from older content will not be grandfathered in, and going forward, it will only be possible to make the flasks with a one hour duration.

I'm a Resto Shammy, and I tend to have mana issues (my role is typically burst raid healing) -- the main source of mana for us is MP5 and crit (to spark Improved Water Shield), and that's very poor regen compared to a Pally with DP, a tree with Innervate/Spirit, etc. Our mana regen is a stat that only does one thing; if we are forced to gem a 1-dimensional stat, we're hurting ourselves. This flask is wonderful because it gives us more options; we don't have to gem for mp5 if this flask can give us just enough extra mana to last for a boss fight.
