the drop rate on these reeds is horrible. a 39 undead warlock and i killed a bunch of 'em and it seemed the reeds only dropped for me. i got like 4 then she went offline then i got like 2 more. maybe it's better to tackle this solo?

also it is a good idea to do the last part of Mok'thardin's enchantment anyway since you have to kill the explorer's to get the reed and the spring is just across a bridge once you enter the main area

I had a 50% (!) droprate! On my warlock that is.
Previous chars didn't have that much luck.

Just did the quest now on 45 arms war, droprate was a lil less than 50%. Maybe they changed it in 2.4.3? I remember doing it on my hunter and had to kill nearly 100 of em to get them all.

9 kills 3 drops..........and theres not enuf spawns to go around i would not recommend grouping for this unless you want to spend 1 hour farming it : /

The data gathered from all the characters I've done this quest with indicate around a 29% droprate. All in all, it's not that bad. The mobs drop fast and the XP is great.

I don't know if they changed the drop-rate as of 3.3, but from what I've seen, its about a 50%-66% chance now. I did it last night, and I didn't have to kill more than 20, and my friend just did it and didn't have to kill more than 20 either.

Maybe we're just lucky, I dunno.
