This gem can be used to cut +12 agility gems, which makes it +2 more agility then the Crimson Spinel that is worth 350g in the AH. The price of a Blood garnet is 2.5g, which can be cut into a +6 Agility gem, for the +2 agility upgrade, the Living Ruby is priced at 50g, a price increase of 1900% for an increase of +2, for an upgrade for an additional +2 agility, the crimson spinel is sold for 350g, a 600% increase in price. Mind you, this is the pricing for the uncut, just imagine what kind of markup JCs will add.

Now, what does this all mean concerning this thread? I'll tell you :)

SELL SELL SELL if you're a JC. I highly doubt people will start paying upwards of 350g for green gems, infact, I doubt it'll reach over 50g.

Sell your outland gems, as you can expect a really steep drop in the value of them. I would even start selling 2+ months before the release date of WotLK as people might start to horde their money in anticipation of the expansion.

Depending on how much the Northrend dailies award, green gems will probably be rarely seen in the AH, just like they are now (hope they add 'phenominal glass' as Northrend 'brilliant glass'). rare gems will cost around 100-200g, and epic gems will cost 500-1000g.

WotLK will probably be the last expansion, unless Blizzard decides to uncover the maelstorm, but even then, that's more of a dungeon than a continent. That being said, the epic gems in Northrend will be expensive, and rightly so, since they will be the best gems in WoW forever, but atleast JC will always have a job seeing as how Blizzard always releases new gear that needs gems :)

A bit of Lore-ness here...

Prison Break In makes a reference to objects made of "bloodstone". Of course, it may be a different material, labelled "bloodstone" just because. Diario sulle Ricerche di Belamoore has the following lines, dealing with the bloodstone mentioned in the quest:

"Remnants of the Old Gods still linger in the deep hollows of the world. New forces seek to harness that ancient power, and those who succeed will have a terrible weapon against their enemies." That is what Kegan uttered as he handed his bloodstone pendant to me, and there was fear, and maybe reverence, in his eyes as he did so
For I felt a power within it . A deep, hidden, hungry power. And one yearning for release.
But the bloodstone pendant, to my frustration, did not react to my procedures as would normal ore. In fact, it often acted in precisely the opposite fashion as expected! It was almost as if the pendant was deliberately fouling my experiments.
None of my new tests brought to light any revelations of the origin of bloodstone. At the time the only riddle I solved was that bloodstone was neither living, nor dead!
The blood that had spilled near the bloodstone pendant was slowly moving toward the piece of jewelry, as if gravity had somehow bent itself toward the bloodstone. The blood that touched the pendant seemed to disappear, and the red color of the stone deepened as it drank more of my blood.*
Fire, water, thunder and rock are mixed with the blood (but again, the blood of what?), and although this mixture is outwardly inert, all these forces seem to rage inwardly against each other.

*This is rather interesting to me, because in reference to the Old Gods, we know that they are parasitic beings in this world - in other words, they feed on existing life (or even the whole planet). Add that to the speculation that Bloodstone is related to the Old Gods, and we have a material that is enlivened by blood... at the end what we, Jewelcrafters handle so carelessly, may be Old Gods' blood...

Ever wondered if you could make those uncommon quality gems, that are leftovers from the tons of ores you prospect useful? I guess this post will not be so well respected by the people who already know how you can make big profit from those gems, but everyone should have the right to know it.

Requirements:
Professions:
Jewel crafting: (which is logic of course because that’s where you get the gems from)

Enchanting: it is a must to have a char with enchanting, or a friend with plenty of time, I myself have made a DK (level 58) and gave it enchanting. Level 350 enchanting is enough to disenchant all boe drops (except epics, which you don’t want to DE but sell on the AH). If you don’t have an enchanter yet, and want to power level enchanting till 350, have a budged of around 2k gold ready.

Items:
Eternal earth’s: you need 1 Ee/ 5 gems you are processing, so 2 crystallized earths each gem is needed.
Bloodstone (s)
Sun crystal (s)
Huge citrine (s)
Chalcedony (s)

Getting started:
What we will be making are green items which we can later disenchant for dust, essences and shards.
1 bloodstone + 2 crystallized earths make a bloodstone band (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42336)
1 Sun Crystal + 2 crystallized earths make a Sun rock ring (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42337)
1 Huge citrine + 2 crystallized earths make a crystal citrine necklace (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=43244)
1 Chalcedony + 2 crystallized earths make a crystal chalcedony necklace (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=43245)
These items have a 5 second cast timer to create.

Now, how can we turn this items into a money making factory, well here are some math’s:
Each greeny that you have created has a 75% of dropping 1 or 2 infinite dusts, with a 50% chance to have either 1 or 2, so on average you will have 75% chance of getting 1.5 infinite dust each greeny you disenchant. You will have 20% chance of receiving 1.5 Lesser Cosmic essence, and a 5% chance of receiving 1 small dream shard.
The following statistics are theoretically true if you disenchant 100 items:

You will gain 5 small dream shards, 3 SDS’s can be forged in to a Dream shard which are worth 17g on my server. That brings the total wealth of the SDS’s on 28.3g

You will gain 37.5 Lesser Cosmic essences, which can be forged into Greater Cosmic essences (3:1), GCE’s cost 15g each on my sever that brings the wealth to 187.5g

You will gain 112.5 infinite dusts, on my server these are worth 4.5g each which bring it to a total of 506.25g

All prices together will sum up to the total of 722.3g, so the total wealth per item is 7.22g

I normally wait with buying eternal earths till they are 7.5g each or less, and since they can be turned into 10 crystallized earths, and 2 CE’s are needed each greeny, the total investment I need to make per greeny is 1.5g. since the gems I use are pure leftovers from prospecting, I don’t count them as investments I must make. So this leaves a total profit of 5.72g/ gem you have. Since I prospect at least 150 stacks of saronite ore each week, that is a lot of extra profit I make.

Im really curious for some better use of these. My bank is stuffed with gems like this one.
I've used a bunch to cut some rings or necklaces from to disenchant on an alt but other jewellery proves to be alot more valuablefor disenchanting.

Wonder why these say 1G buyout funny as on my server 90% of the time now 3.3+ bloodstone,chalcedony,Dark jade,sun crystal, huge citrine, eternal air and fires, basically all the mats to make earthseige diamonds, skyflare daimonds, and do the jc dailies are all around 20-30G each ah...lol maybe I need to switch servers 1G buyout I wish...lol

If you're currently sitting on these, continue to sit on them. Two very important things are going to happen when MoP launches in a few months that will make the prices for these skyrocket:

1) People are going to be leveling the crap out of jewelcrafting for the gold-making value AND (more importantly) for the new panther mounts the profession comes with. Bloodstones and other uncommon gems from Wrath of the Lich King content will increase in value because players, as history as shown, will not want to bother farming saronite ore.

It takes MINIMUM 55 uncommon gems to level from 350-400. So yes, there will be a market for these. Do not doubt that.

2) Agility gems. Leveling monks will be all over the place and their main stat will be agility. Selling Sanguinite Delicata will be of lesser viability due to the dynamics of your server's market and what other gems are available to the players and for how much. However, do not discount the need for bloodstone agility cuts after MoP launches.
