Has a respawn rate on 3 hours. Check the vendor again after 3 hours to repurchase it. Remember it can contain valuable stuff. ;)

I tried checking the vendor for this about 26 hours after it was first sold, it still hadn't respawned:(
Seems to be _very_ random respawntime on it, anything from 30 minutes to more than a day, maybe sometimes 0 respawns before reset.

Definately checked this 10 hours later but before a hard reset of the instance. No one else had gone in and it nothing at all had respawned. I checked right before work and everyone usally logs for a good 10 hours or so. Seems really random imo.

I got the felsteel longblade plans from my first one and then 5 scrolls of protection :(

Just curious, are the patterns within the case BoP?
Or can one person loot the case and then have the group roll if there is a pattern within?

Since Bleumoon asked. The plans are not BoP.

I got a hex stick and used it on a frog. Gunter spawned. I purchased the scroll case and found those plans inside. The group did not get a loot roll when i took the plans outta the scrollcase. The plans are not BoP. As far as I can tell the only NPC dropping BoP plans of usually tradeable plans is (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=24664) Kael'thas Sunstrider. A good example; So say this scroll case contains (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28279) the plans for cat's swiftness, it will be BoE and tradeable. If Kael'thas were to drop the plans for cat's swiftness it would be the BoP version (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35299). Only Enchanter's would see Kael'thas' Cat's swiftness, and same for all his BoP plans, you must have +1 skill of that trade to see the plans. This Scroll case does not do that. My enchanter/tailor got a blacksmithing plan that it can trade or sell.

BTW, since I had lots of food i didn't buy any he had, no one did. When he moved back to the front door all his limited supply food was gone. I'm assuming this scroll case would of disappeared if I had not purchased it at his original location, when i freed him from being a frog and before he moves to the dungeon entrance. So if you spawn him be sure the group buys what limited supply food they need before he moves.

This thing can be really annoying, it can drop 5 scrolls, and can sometimes drop über epic plans. Was so gutted when 5 scrolls dropped... :(

Like Gunter himself, there will only be one of these per raid ID. While the other items (the food) that Gunter sells may respawn from time to time, once someone buys this, no other will appear until the instance resets.

In the past, however, there have been reports of this item spawning multiple times. It doesn't happen anymore.

There are two vendors that can spawn from un-hexed Forest Frogs - Gunther (Food) and Kyren (Reagents) - BOTH can carry a Sealed Scroll Case EACH. Meaning two chances per raid ID, provided you farm enough Hex Sticks to get both vendors to spawn. This is just a chance too, sometimes Kyren will carry a different item instead of the scroll case.

Gunter says: I must go now, before I get myself caught again. If you need anything, I won't be far.

And by not far, he means he will be where everyone you have unhexed is, at the entrance. But he wont sell any of those limited items there.

This means you have 5 minutes to buy the limited items before he walks away.
It also means there is no way to wait for any respawn timer for Sealed Scroll Case.

But if you are determined to farm this, you can. Just clear trash until you have unhexed enough to get both vendors, go out, reset all instances, repeat. I tried this, and it works as of 4.0.3a patch, but.. it took a long time to get enough sticks for both vendors to spawn, but hey, you might be luckier.

I've run Zul'Aman at least twenty times in the past two days just looking for the enchanting formula out of the Sealed Scroll Cases and so far, I've never seen a vendor other than Gunter sell it and I've never seen Gunter more than once per reset. I submitted a screenshot showing Gunter selling it.

I would recommend anybody going after the enchanting formulas to reset it once you buy the Sealed Scroll off Gunter.

Less than 1 week after patch 4.1:

" This item has been opened 1031 times. "

This data is from after the patch, 'cuz I am sure the case has been opened a gazillion times since ZA was a 10man.

So the loot table you see should be accurate, but I too have 2 times gotten this case and only fortune cards...hmmm...

I have opened this twice since 4.1. Once had five fortune cards, one had six. Neither had anything else in them.

It's looking like it mostly has fortune cards inside it, with the occasional scroll or greater Darkmoon card. Not sure whether any recipes are falling in it any more.

Patch 4.1 Hotfixes - May 4

Players are now able to get a random Darkmoon card inside of a Sealed Scroll Case, instead of always getting a Darkmoon Card of Destruction.

you can receive 2 per vendor per instance by using the hex sticks prior to killing Daakara and then buy again from the vendor at the celebration after killing him
