Yet another card from "Fires of Outland", the new set of WoW trading cards due out on August 22nd.

This particular item is from the card "Gone Fishin'", and will spawn a chair to fish normally from.

To redeem the loot card's code you must visit Landro Longshot <The Black Flame> in Booty Bay.

As an ogre, you stand in the chair rather than sitting in it...

Has starfish and a worm on a hook under the umbrella.

And I you don't have to be near water to use it.

So if you're on Twisting Nether and you're Horde, I'm sure you'll see me up on the Orgrimmar bank chillin' in the chair...or near the Auction House set up with my Goblin Gumbeaux Kettle and Picnic Basket.

Other players aren't allowed to sit in or steal your chair. However, often players will come up and do /sit on top of the chair to appear as though they are sitting in the chair
BlizzCon Murloc Suit, Ogre Suit both have no sitting animation. It will appear as though you're standing/clipping through the seat.
You can use World Enlarger to shrink down and sit in the chair as a tiny person but it clips through the chair art.
You can use both your picnic basket & this fishing chair at the same time
Item can be placed all over the world "outside." It's great to set up on someone's corpse and sit on the chair making it look like you plan on camping their corpse.
It's a great attention item, most people have no idea what the item is and ask you where to get it.
A patch changed the item so that it lasts longer, now 5 minutes vs. 3 mins.
Certainly one of the best/most fun items in the game in my opinion

Just got it today. Fun to use in AV while guarding towers and gy's. A few player haters out there who like to whisper stuff like "ebay" or "trading card games are for losers". That's when you know they are jealous. So I just smile and keep on sitting. Well, I do get up to fire flares and set my traps. Don't want to forget the job at hand. :)

Where does it come from and how hard is it to get?
The Fishing Chair comes from the World of Warcraft TCG (trading card game)

Rarity: 1/242 booster packs
Distribution: Fires of Outland booster boxes contain 24 boosters and cost approx $140 USD (inc. shipping), therefore the average cost of obtaining this particular loot is $1,412.00. The price for this loot has been increasing steadily since the Fires of Outland expansion is now out of print.

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/fishing_chair.htm (most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $75 USD upwards to $95 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 4 items.

Facts:

Can be used anywhere a mount is allowed.
You do not have to be near water to use it.
Useable at any level and therefore available for twinks.

How do the Loot cards work?
Loot cards are special rare versions of WoW TCG cards found in booster packs, starter decks, and raid decks that have a revealable unique code. Once this protective layer concealing the code is scratched away, a 25 digit promotion code is revealed that can be entered into the Blizzard offical promotions page. These codes work for both US and EU servers.

I have the 25 digit loot code, now what?
All accounts from every region in the world use http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/promotion.html to redeem any and all special loot. This webpage allows you to enter the 25 digit promotion code and also select the region and realm for the character that will receive the loot item.

Upon succcessfuly submitting the above information, you will be presented with an in-game code. Write this code down or print it out; you will need it to retrieve your item. Log into the game with the character that is to receive the item and travel to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. There, you will need to find a goblin by the name of Landro Longshot. He is located on the lower parts of Booty Bay on the docks, and should be easily recognised due to the fact that he has a distinctive purple shirt and two body guards next to him.

When you find Landro, he will first ask if you are here for a promotion, and then ask you which TCG expansion your item comes from (or Points Redemption); check your loot card if you are not sure which item that is. Ensure you have got bag space to hold the item!

Although most loot card items are basically harmless fun or eye candy I find the chair does serve some purpose in bg's. Sometimes I will drop it at choke points. Opposing players not knowing you can ride through it will adjust their course to avoid it thinking they will become hung on it.

Thats wrong, i made one in org, went for some stuff in my bank, when i came back someone else was in the chair and i could "target" the chair by mousing over it.

To this you obtain it chair with a code that only is available in a card of the TCG of wow: http://www.wowtcg.com/loot. But you can buy these card/codes in e-bay, then you go away to Boty bay and you speak with Landro Colpolungo and complete the code and appears to you the item in your bag. He is one of the funny items but in my opinion within the game: the wood parasol, chair, and the brandy bottle or what it is happened to you that is. When I get it I think I'll have it on my tauren death knight, I'll use Path of Frost and sit down on it on the water while fishing! If it works it'll look like I'm floating and fishing at the same time!

Other than the loot card itself, this will be obtainable with the Mists of Pandaria expansion pack through the Black Market Auction House. Be prepared to pay big for it!

As of prepatch I put down my chair twice and it has turned into a green fish instead of a chair, this happening to anyone else? I posted a pic of the fish, and it happened again afterwords. No more chair?

Edit: I found a blue post explaining, here is what was said "Fishing Chair and Nat's Fishing Chair have been temporarily converted into objects that are not chairs, while a bug with their functionality is fixed. They will return to their former function in a future patch." They will return to their former function in a future patch. " players were placing several of these in front of auction house entrance blocking others from going in or out. Im sure there was other places being blocked and enough ppl reported this.

It looks exactly the same as Nat's Fishing Chair, which is kind of lazy. I mean, they could have made the umbrella a slightly different color. On the upside, they do not share cooldowns, so you can set up two fishing chairs next to each other and fish with your buddy. Or fish alone and invite any passerby.

Just won this at the BMAH for about 200k or so. The TCG card sells for a little over $100 online, so when you calculate the WoW token value equivalent, I got a great deal (like $30 or so).
