dont know too much about it but it lasts for 40sec which is amazing. if this is useable in arenas, it is an extremely powerful trinket.
add in the 450life, it is just amazing
im most likely going to get exalted with skettis since i want a nether ray rather than a drake like everyone else, i am getting at least revered for this alone. purely amazing

This is but an excellent trinket for arenas, one thing to also note is that it does not share a cool down with the timbermaw trinket (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21326). Good for causing the enemy a headache when you pop two pets on them!

- The little dragon lasts exactly 40 seconds.
- He attacks with "Arcane Bolt" which hits average for 520 arcane damage.
- Since he got only ~3.2k Mana he does 6 or 7 bolts. Anyway... melee for 150 (~300 crit)

- Cooldown is 10 minutes, so it should be usable every Arena (i don't play arena so i don't tested it.

The dragon never gets better but at Honored u can use the trinket outside of Shadowmoon Valley and at Revered it gains 45 stamina.

How useable is the summoned dragon when tanking instances? Does the threat generated by the dragons arcane bolts and melee strikes add to hte person that summons it or?

I don't know if it has been changed, but pre-Netherwing dailies you could summon to Netherwing Ledge. I know this for a fact because I was able to summon some non-70s on my warlock to help kill the ghost dragon for Gorefiend's Armor.

Still, the twink issue is moot, because you can't even begin to grind for this rep without a 300 flying skill.

I actually found the trinket to be quite useful as a tank - a green/blue-geared tank. The +45 stam is a nice lil' stat - it pushed me over the 10k mark without any epics.

Neat little guy, and he actually does a respectable amount of damage. Actually part of my tanking set at the moment.

Use this little guy on my rogue quite frequently, a great tool in PvE and has bailed me out in PvP on more than one occaision. Has a decent amount of health and can hold aggro a bit, which as a rogue can give you ample opportunity to backstab. Sometimes provides that little bit of extra damage you need if you're getting ganged up on or killed.

It can solo most level 70 mobs, one on one, and can easily decimate entire groups or camps of low-leveled enemies, if you so desire.

Does not attack incapacitated enemies (IE sap, sleep), but it'll attack anything else in range if it doesn't have an immediate target.

Now usable indoors as of 2.4! I slapped it on during the shade fight in kara last week for the extra stam, and hit the hotkey for that trinket slot by mistake and out pops my little friend. I was plesently suprised.

As was said above, this guy is invaluable for dagger rogues. Not only can he hold aggro so you can get off some Backstabs (as well as Vanish+Ambush), but he does some pretty good damage to boot. Great tool for soloing difficult mobs as a dagger rogue.

Also an awesome trinket in pvp. The 45 stam alone makes it a very viable choice as a permanent trinket.

Obviously everyone grinds Netherwing rep for the Drake, but you really shouldn't overlook this awesome trinket.

Shaman can take out his netherdrake and flame elemental totem for some massive seemingly out of nowhere dps support. throw them both down in the expansion and add a couple spirit wolfs!

Scales to level 80. Has about 7750 HP, hits with Arcane Bolt for about 700-800 and melees for around 200.

Best thing about summoning and using the drake is that it scales with your level. If you are 80, drake is 80. I've found some use for this besides BGs and whatnot. Before a boss fight, I occasionally put on this trinket and summon the drake right before the pull. He melees for around 400 per attack with a speed around 2.0 and arcane bolts for a bit under 1k. The way I see it, every bit of damage is a good bit of damage.

Edit: I'm not saying I keep it on a whole fight. You can equip a trinket, use it, and unequip it and still have the summoned mob active.

He scales to 84 and probably 85. Has hp 8240 at 84.

He seems to scale not only with your level but also with your damage. At 79 as a priest and with the best cat gear I can find he still makes the difference in dueling. With the old lesser Sunwell gear he did far less damage.

I had to post a picture of how small this guy is. He's really only about the same size as a whelpling pet in game such as Onyxian Whelpling as an example. He's cute though and has that distinctive Netherdrake appearance.

Just used it on Murozond in End of Time instance. As a lvl 85 fury warrior:

- has 8.4k hp & 8.7k mp,
- does meele hit for 600 damage,
- casts "Arcane Bolt" for 1.2k damage,

Notes:
- It may decide to never cast it's Arcane Bolt. I tested him 10 times in total, and only once had this happen.
- It's meele seems to be dodged/parried/blocked often on boss dummies, but it never did on bosses I tried it on (always hit bosses in Zulaman).
- It also seems to take no AoE damage; It didn't die on Murozond's AoE damage, nor did it against Tyrande's "Starfall" and other bosses doing AoE damage.

Conclusion: Best summon trinket if you don't have Engineering/Jewelcrafting and no Tol Barad Commendation @ lvl 85. lol

Sadly, as of 6.0.2 this little guy no longer scales.
Used it and he's level 70 again and glances against level 90 mobs.
