This just come from 25-man raids, similar to sulfuron ingots but the difference is that the ingots were only used to get Hand of Rag but this is used for over 15 items in Tailoring, Leatherworking and Blacksmithing. Yeah good luck getting 20 of them Blacksmiths.

Every recipe uploaded so far that uses these creates a BoP item.

Therefore, you will only ever need them for yourself, you'll never be asked to get these to craft stuff for anyone else (except for idiots that don't realize).

It was good of blizzard to reduce the cost of the tier3 weapons from 20 to 5 nether vortex. I can actually see myself wielding a Bloodmoon in the near future :D

they highly increased the droppchance, last resort got their first stormherald. so they got propably 18 or more nether vortexes in 1 run, what makes the t3 blacksmith weapons more easily obtainable.

The Nether Vortex drop rate have been increased greatly
we have gotten 3 during the trash to void reaver... So the chance of getting the tier 3 weapons just got a lot bigger..

I just got 1 from SSC and one of the other dps warrior got 2 in the same SSC run.. in all there pretty easy to get and you only need 5 now so woot

As I stated earlier, it drops frequently during trash now, and with the reduced cost of this item in many situations, it may become viable to make this item have a DKP cost in high-end guilds.

Droprate on Vortexes seems very low atm, just 1 for half TK, and none for half SSC, and this is since last patch.
Vashj and Kael still drop 2, but don't expect more than 1-2 from trash per weekly reset per instance.

Nothing takes more than 5 Nether Vortexes now. In fact, most non-BS items only take 2. So far they only appear to drop in Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye.

They need to allow a trade in for these for solo work outside of the instance. Its a craftable BoP item, i love making blacksmithing items, I have my Thunder, willing to work within reason to Deep Thunder, but will never see my finished product, Stormherald because of the drop location.

To make it far, make an alternate route to allow access to these, whether it be Turn 10 Primal Nethers into 1 Vortex Nether, i think that is fair, and it will still take a long time. So the people who dont like casuals like myself, wont be upset.

Destromath EU prices are around 2000g crafting fee for a belt including the Vortexes. You usually end up with about 3-5 Nether Vortexes for a full clear of SSC or TK.

has the droprate on these been nerfed in 2.3? 2 nights in a row in ssc has yielded us zero vortexes. we used to pick up 2-3 pr run before the patch.

so i arranged with a guild on my server to take me along and sell me the drops..
hundreds of mobs later in both TK/`SSC and NOT A SINGLE DROP! (no they didn't took me to Kael'Tas or Vashj, reserved for their guildies) but heck...not a single damn drop from mobs...wtf? nerfede drop rate?

As of 2.4, on the PTRs, these can now be purchased from G'eras in Shattrah City for 7g20s and 15 badges. Skillheralds for everyone!

Basically Blizzard are making it easier for people to progress to harder content and are not far from just giving away epics. I for one am not against this as it allows more of the population to experience the game which is better for anyone, and does not effect the hardcore raiders as they have better gear then these.

If im quite honest you wont see these too highly priced because:
1) people are stock piling marks in anticipation for this patch farming KZ/doing heroics and their dailys
2) badges will be more readily available as basically all raid encounters will drop them
3)If someone is trying to free up some of their capital they could simply just buy a vortex with marks and put it on AH

Though smart people will save up their marks for the new 2.4 badge loot so their wont be so many badges on the average person, but these new badge rewards will also reduce the amount of items people will want crafted with these vortexes.

If you want to take an in game reference then you can look at the current price primal nethers, which are only expensive to 'buy' because of the fact that currently the crafter has to have them himself. On my server the price of crafting something which involes a primal nether is only at 80g.

You still need the pattern to make the items though and with the patterns being such high end content as well, I can still see people charging 1000 gold to craft an item with your mats.

These can now be bought with 15 Badge of Justice which now drop off every raid boss. It has only been day since the patch went live but on Demon Soul server they are going anywhere from 150g-300g each, hopefully in a few days the market price will settle in on these.

I am not sure what will be cheaper, paying for the Vortexs or finding someone with 15 badges to buy you one.

Yesterday i got a hint by a guildie that these sell for 300g+ on the realm we're on.
I didn't have them yet, but had loads of badges so announced WTS Nether Vortex before i bought them, i got an instant offer from someone that wanted to buy 4 for 1000g.

But i'm pretty sure the prices will drop very rapidly as you will get badges for about everything you do in outland.

If you want to convert your badges into cash then do not buy vortex's. Instead, save your badges until the BT gem vendor spawns (remember that BT gems are also available for 15 badges each) and then buy Chrimson Spinel's (The red BT gem) with your badges. There is a lot more demand for +10 STR, AGI, +12 Damage, and +22 Healing gems than there are for vortexes and they will fetch a higher premium.

The problem with buying your own vortexes with badges is that you cannot buy badges. I for one have loads of Gold lying around with all these dailys available now, and i can do up to 25 a day. But badges on the other hand are a bit harder to get. I'd much rather spend gold to get a vortex than waist badges that i could use on the new 2.4 gear.

My servers selling the primal nethers for around 50-75g, and vortexes are 150-250g. In all honesty, a couple vortex's for 250g a piece seems like a fair price to me. I'll take them for less though if i can.

Well, i dont know about your guy's servers, but gems already are going for 150g and nether vortexs for 350g, id rather buy a vortex, sell it for 350g, and buy a epic gem for 150g and save 200g, thats a big come up :)

On my server there are around 2 each time on the ah and they r easily sold for 500g so i wouldnt rly call it a waste of badges.

As the expansion comes closer more and more people are using all their badges to buy these and sell them as badges will be pretty much useless when the expansion hits. if you're planning on doing the same, do it sooner rather than later!
