Finally got the LW skill to make these tonight. There were two things I noticed:

- Can't be used in druid forms :<

These are only useable in druid from where you can use consumables like Pots. This would exlude all Bear, Cat, Seal, Cheetaha (Travel), and Raven (Flight). Moonkin and Tree form are both talent forms but you are also about to use consumables.

wow this wod be awsome on my shaman it is a troll so it realy need a fear or a stun its sweet it is like a free warstomp :) to bad you need 350 lw to use and make them hmm i alredy have 350 in skinnig so it wodent take long to train up rigth? and the mats the like 5 min to farm:)

What a let down.

Just used them for the first time in BG:

1) ANY damge while casting will make the cast FAIL, and it can also be interrupted.

2) In 11 casts I actually made 1 person flee in fear. Neither lock pets, hunter pets, or rouges attacking me ever "feared", or would flee from the unearthly rythems.

they suck. don't bother.

ugh. what a horrible horrible let down. drums of panic are as useful as Fish Oil.

These are getting buffed in 2.3 with a slightly increased radius of effect and a reduced casting time.

Now useable in Shapeshift form, and have been changed to instant cast. Very useful for ferals in PvP.

For a druid in BGs, these are brilliant. Really good fun, and unbelievably useful. Many ppl will be thinking "hmm 2 secs of fear. not long enough for anything" but it has many uses. These are some of my experiences as a PvP resto druid:

1) "get these f*&kers off me". When everything else is on CD you got an extra trick in your bag. Fear and travel form run for it. One of the few ways to escape multiple melee enemies.

2) Fear and Cyclone/root. The 2 sec fear is long enough to cast either of these spells.

3) When your team is fighting hard but need an advantage, pop this and they essentially all get a free hit or two. Can really tip the balance sometimes.

4) AoE casting/capping interupt. Lovely, even when there are tremor totems around.

5) Just causing havoc. Stealth fear bomb anyone? such fun.

Sadly I had the 30 Leathers and 20 Hides to make 5 of these to get to 375 and only got two skillups from a yellow recipe...

also take in note ur playing against other players, a druid or a rouge using this will couse quite some confusion, often having your victims not only run in fear for 2 sec but also run in confusion for some time longer!

hoped they maked this a unlimited charges... but that would make the item more expencie and these are the best lvling items for LW

Doesn't seem to be useful in PvE. 2 seconds aint much.

Nobody has mentioned that making these drums is the cheapest way to get your LW skills those final few points to 375.
According to Wowhead, Drums of Battle go grey after 372 and these are still green all the way to 375.

For anyone interested these do still work on 90 and 90+ mobs in MoP (at least those susceptible to fear). I've used them to interrupt Barren's commanders from whatever they were casting and my stun wasn't up yet. I've not attempted them in PvP, however I would imagine they only work in non-rated BGs.

Currently still work on level 110s. I used them in bgs, very handy especially on groups, even if it's a 1 second fear.
