Very nice weapon for someone who wants a consistent DPS. However, you don't really want to depend on the fireball chance on hit whether you have this in PvP or PvE. I use this on a 49 Paladin twink along with some other maces, I just threw fiery on this for the fun of it. Other than that, I don't use it often, there are better blues for 49. (e.g. Princess Theradras' Scepter (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17766) with Crusader)

My paladin got this at level 45, saved up enough gold (80-100g) for a crusader enchant. At level 47, I equipped it and learned that with a retribution paladin, you can do some unbelievable damage.

Consider a judgment of the crusader and a seal of command, while you have the weapon's normal white damage, your holy bonus from crusader + command, and the weapon's CoH of ~200 fire damage, PLUS the crusader enchant's holy strength which hits very often.

Isn't that a nice thought?

Back in ye olde day when Bloodthirst did not exist, this was an awesome fury weapon.

With a fiery enchant, this weapon can last for pretty long - I used this as a ret paladin, still workin pretty well. Coupled with seal of command; I dealt immense damage each time fiery/taran icebreaker/seal of command procced - good for a dps pally wanna-be.

It's a pity this is so fast. It's far less valuable than several blues in this level range.

I can't think of a single class that would benefit using this over Executioner's Cleaver http://www.wowhead.com/?item=13018 , a level 43 blue.

Still this sells for 2 or 3 times as much.

Terrible compared to both The Rockpounder and Executioner's Cleaver. If you're dying to sport some purple, get Kang.

Three second WF cooldown prohibits use by Shammies, Mortal Strike damage range prohibits use by Warriors, and fast speed prohibits use by Ret Pallies.

For all you idiots saying you did "great DPS" as Ret using this, you would have quadrupled that DPS using a proper weapon, like Rockpounder or Exec.

I looted this weapon :D it hasn't sold yet but its only been 1 day thanks for telling me its good for twink pallys I know who to try to sell it to now I went off to loot the guy and then there was a epic there my 1st epic :) I think I got it off a deadwood shaman.

This dropped for me from http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=5977 a week ago, and is not listed here. This was my first epic drop while I was doing http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=2681 a lucky drop I would never forget. In (Icecrown) server I sold this in less than an hour for 200g.

I made the pally running with us in BRD equip it, though it was the alt of someone who barely played anyway and they could get away with AHing it without a spot on their reputation. :p

Not removed! It just dropped off a Frostsaber Stalker in Winterspring.

I about fell over when I saw the purple... and damn if I can't use it (hunter).

Waffling about keeping it for an alt or selling it. Both are joyous thoughts.

Very good for roleplaying that basic paladin, if you aren't much of a PVPer and don't want to farm for that 2h mace!

A good idea, at least for me at the time... If farming for this as a much higher level, do it in Blackrock Depths. Go from beginning to Dagran Thaurissan at the end. This will also have you farm the other epic hammer, Ironfoe. Fury warriors could feel so amazing dual wielding the 2h epic hammer with the 1h epic hammer. And dat nostalgia. Epic.

While clearing The Manufactory in Blackrock Depths, I mashed a group of three locals, a Ragereaver Golem, a Doomforge Arcanasmith, and a Weapon Technician. None listed here as dropping it, but ONE of them had it in their backpack. Doubtful it will go for the price listed here, but it's worth a shot. To the Auction House!

Tried out an iLvl 36 Taran Icebreaker on my level 32 ret paladin (this is during the Shadowlands xpac, after the squish).

The Fireball procs rarely and for a paltry amount of damage. This weapon just isn't "epic" anymore.

I'm happy enough I equipped it, for the transmog appearance. But an heirloom or a blue (or even a green) at appropriate level is going to have +Strength that will increase damage more than this statless epic with an anemic fireball proc (which apparently was really something, back in the day).
