Sharpening stones, weightstones and wizard oil does not stack with rockbiter weapon or any other elemental weapon.

When I put one of these on each of my Pearl Handled Daggers, the damage listed on the character sheet was +6 for each (instead of +3). When one of the stones wore off (time expired) then both weapons listed +3 (instead of nothing for one and +3 for the other). Do they actually add together, or is this a bug?

Oddly These cannot be used on level 80 Epic weapons, I received some while going for my loremaster achieve and it refused to allow them on my Axe saying that the item level was too high.

At the release of Lich King, temporary weapon enhancements (oils & stones) worked on items all the way to those requiring level 80 (I applied it to Totemic Purification Rod with no problems), this was changed by Blizzard within weeks of release. After much experimenting I found that (at version 3.0.9) the current cut off for using these is any weapon with item value of 162 (as rated in the Armory). Any weapon at or above 166 will alert the user that the attempt failed but will not consume the object. I was able to apply oil to a Levitating Dagger (BOE green) which requires level 75 to use.

In my opinion, you should always use items like these. Weapon oil, sharpening stones etc. They are extremely easy to make, and reasonably cheap on the auction house, and they give such an extreme boost.

This looks like the best Trial Rogue buff you can get...dont underestimate a simple sharpening stone, that 3 pure weapon damage in reality is roughly 30 Attack power...so in sense, a buffed Alliance rogue twink with 2 sharpened weapons can be on par with level 24 twinks.

15 agil enchant is 30 attack power as well.
