300 armor provides an additional 2.76% physical damage reduction (at level 70). Since this scroll stacks with elixirs, buffs, et cetera, it couldn't hurt to save these for your main tank. Every little bit helps during a raid.

Damage reduction from armor is subject to diminishing returns, yes. Despite this, the benefit in terms of expected lifespan without heals scales linearly as armor increases (up to the cap)

In practical terms, while going from 0-300 armor gives more mitigation than going from 8000-8300, the increase in lifespan is the same in both cases. If going from 0-300 armor lets your tank live one second longer without heals, going from 8000-8300 armor will also let your tank live one second longer without heals.

The math/graphs aren't interesting enough to include in a comment but if you're really interested you should be able to find a discussion on any of a number of popular theorycrafting communities.

The effect doesn't stack with the exalted tank ring from MH. So when the ring proccs, the scroll-buff is completely removed.

Armor does have Diminishing Returns but not in the way it is calculated here.

The Formular for Mitigation against a Boss (lvl 73 mob) is Armor/(Armor+11960).

Some examples:

0 to 240 Armor: 0 to 1.967 % mitigation; damage taken decreased by 1.967%

10000 to 10240 Armor: 45,5 % to 46,13 % mitigation; damage taken decreased by 1,16%

15000 to 15240 Armor: 55,64% to 56,03% mitigation; damage taken decreased by 0,78%

35000 to 35240 Armor: 74,53 % to 74,66% mitigation; damage taken decreased by 0,51%

A 240 Armor Scroll is a very strong buff and even good for Druid Tanks with high Armor. If you go from 35000 to 35240 Armor as a Druid you gain 0,51 % effective health thus if you have 22000 hp your new effective health would be 22112.
Not much but 112 hp might be the difference between a kill and a wipe at Brutallus.

As of 3.0.2, scroll buffs no longer stack with each other, i.e. using both a scroll of protection and scroll of agility.

You can now only have one scroll buff at a time.

i dont understand why all other scrolls can be put inside inscription bags, but scrolls of protection cant be ? ?
