Just looted it from a Jaggal Clam. Just like the Jaggal Pearl there is no use listed. Seems to be more rare than the Jaggal Pearl.

Before 2.1 Im stocking up on these because they only sell for 1g or less on my server then im going to resell them in the crafted gem, going to be a good money make for anyone.

Wowhead suggests a buyout of 1g, and the fact is if you put a buyout of 10g it will be gone within 10 minutes or less. The average is around 30g on Nazjatar. I bought one to make my Necklace of the Deep for tanking, and it was well worth it.

On my Server some newbs don't know the worth of it so you can buy it cheap an resell it. Keep looking your AH!

It's been on the Nordrassil AH for a while, 50 gold each. Thats way overpriced, but now there are none!

in what i guess you'd call early tbc heroics, they seemed to drop all the time, but there was little to use them for. when the recipe for purified shadow pearl was introduced (patch 2.1 i think) they basically stopped dropping.

I've just had one in my reward bag from the new 2.4 fishing daily quest. So if you have a character that wants some, might be wise to do this quest as often as you can. :)

wow thinking it was as expensive as the jaggel pearl... i destroyed it.. i guess il know for next time, never destroy something unless its grey ( which is still dumb considering the 10-25g greys from fishing daily) i still havent learned :(

My friend and i where killing the naga in Zanga today, both getting jaggal clams drop .. then a squeal of delight from her...she had got a shadow pearl out of a clam..

If only i had gone for the target on the left instead of right. lol

A very lucky drop indeed.

yup just really in a round about way pointing out that they drop from the Jaggal clams in Zanga for sure..she had another drop yesterday -.-

shadow pearl has a veeery low drop rate and in my *!@#ty server its sold for 50 if u are lucky...godamn it

With the change in 3.0, the clams are no longer considered 'containers'. Therefore, for people who are new, I figure I should mention: other than the fishing treasures, you obtain Shadow Pearls from opening Jaggal Clams ('use'ing them). The drop chance is extremely small, though, and doesn't seem to have gotten any better. Expect to be farming for a long while on clam-droppers before you find one of these babies!

yeah i know i need them for my JC and they r all between 45g-60g but i got a lucky break some1 had like 4-5 on AH got like 5g each i got them faster then anything

While farming the trash in heroic Steamvault last night I got 3 of these out of about100 Jaggal Clams along with around 10 Jaggal Pearls. This seems to me to be a higher rate than I experienced in the past, but then again I wasn't accumulating Jaggal Clams at such a clip. Anyway, they're still around!

I have about the same drop rate for clams and pearls running steamvault. I didn't see any in the AH, so I put 2 in there for 25g each and they sold pretty fast. I still have about 120 clams to open still so hoping for more. Good gold maker.

I got pretty lucky. I opened 70 Jaggal Clams and managed to get 2 Shadow Pearls and 7 Jaggal Pearls.

I know I have gotten shadow pearls from clams in the recent past. Maybe it was a fluke.
