Probably a worse choice for damage avoidance than the Subtle Living Ruby (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24032), which grants you +8 Dodge Rating. Dodge rating translates into a considerably higher avoidance percentage than Parry rating.

This gem could be attractive to combat rogues using riposte. Otherwise, I don't really see why one would use it; parry isn't a spectacular attribute all around.

Need I also mention that this can also be used for more procs on the t4 set since every parry will result in 200 absorbed damage. This will also result in more aggro (I think), based on absorbing damage. I'm also not sure if the proc will stack from the t4 set.

All things considered, I still think +8 dodge is a better choice.

Would this be good for a Prot Paladin? I mean, reseting your swing timer means more spell damage done meaning more threat, but I'm wondering... Does it also proc holy damage from Ret Aura?
