The "to summon and dismiss" part indicates that it's like a non-combat pet. It doesn't fight for you, it just fights other engineer's robots.

I bought it on the AH for 100g, but I regret it.
The pet is microscopically small (smaller than the smallest critters).
It doesnt move, or follow you around.
It has a 3 minute cooldown.

It's as big as a frog, and there is actually a tiny guy in it, but it's so small you need to zoom in all the way to see it. It's basically one of the robots from Gnomergan that has been made tiny. Extremely underwheming as the other posters have mentioned

These now bind on use according to the 2.3 patch notes.

" The Crashin' Thrashin' Robot is now Bind on Use rather than Bind on Acquire so non-engineers can use them as well."

Maybe they'll finally be interesting.

It says 'will fight other fighting robots'... I wonder if this includes the Clockwork Rocket Bot from the Winter's Veil present... Right now, the bots don't seem to be able to fight each other, though, and I've never seen a live crashin' thrashin' one anywhere...

I was pretty excited to sell one of these for 200g the other day.
If you're still grinding for a flying mount, don't be afraid to put it on Auction House for a hefty price, especially if there's none up already. They are quite rare. Plus the AH deposit is very low relative to how much you'll make, even if you need to put it up a few times.

I like the pet very tiny tho. Wish Blizzard make it slightly bigger. It doesn't count as a companion pet. Will stay on your bag and taking up our bag space :D

Yesterday we made a crashin' trashin' robot deathmatch, around 10 people summoned this robot at the same time and let them kill eachother. it looked hilarious, but after 3 minutes there were still some robots left and we couldnt decide who won.

Got this schematic today, dropped from a Deathforge Technician (non-elite) at Death's Door in Blade's Edge Mountains. Wish I had an engineer! Does this pet count toward the vanity pet achievements?

Picked this up in a solo Karazhan run i did on my 85 Hunter yesterday.

Never seen it before and tbh it didn't look like anything rare, but i decided to check it out on wowhead, and after reading the comments i decided to try and sell it for 1000 gold.

So i put it up on the auction house and 15 mins later someone bought it.

If you manage to get your hands on this, make sure to try and sell it for a decent coin!

Picked one up from Shattered Halls. Figured it was really rare, so I listed it for 2500g and posted that it was up in trade chat. Came here to look it up. When I tabbed back into wow, it had sold!

With all the massive influx of gold in Cataclysm floating around make sure you list it high, someone WILL buy it! Even if you have to list it a few times and advertise its up.

Don't read the comments about 'selling' this freakin' rare schematic, if you haven't the toy yet. Most comments are now obsolete about this. Check the AH ALWAYS for the schematic and for the toy, I bought myself the toy for about 1k gold and the schematic was 12k. I may mark to farm the schematic later in the future or just to remind me, but the toy is now on my box. (You can check the AH in both factions)

You can 'feed' the crashin thrashin robot to your Blingtron 5K to give it an easy +10% damage/size buff. Given the 3 minute cooldown, you can do this 3 times while Bling is up.

This schematic also drops in Dire Maul, but it's not listing that it does... weird. Maybe Wowhead needs to update their list a bit, it's quite outdated.
