I have killed 8 helboars for this quest and no blood has dropped....seems like a lower drop rate then wowhead states

This quest needs to be available at less then lvl 61 so you can go around and actually take the time to kill a whole bunch of these hellboars.

I think these guys just had bad luck, the drop rate isn't high, but i killed about 12 when i got the 6th sample. I've had much more problems with the boars in previous q, and they give skins and vendor trash, so if you were about to abandon q, don't it really isn't that hard :p.

ive killed between 10 - 12 boars now and i have 4 samples =)

i bet the last two take like 4 hrs cuz it always does >.<

Edit: it took 3 more kills to get the last two samples. guess they changed it for the Outlands haha

But yeah about 15 kills total. not too bad especially since i dont mind grinding too too much.

HULKING Helboars.

As dumb as I am to think I could do a quest on the lowest level Helboars... I was killing them for the Purified Helboar Meat quest, and thinking "wow this droprate is horrible, but that's just how it is."

60 boars later and I re-read the quest. Went next to Telhamat and killed 10 boars, and got my 6 blood.

Make sure you're killing the correct mob!

26 percent drop rate for me.

30-ish boars and only 3 bloods yet, so about 10% droprate for me... also.. watch out for felreaver he runs right through the area where there are alot of those boars
(and too bad for me he runs faster then travelform :o)

edit: also.. fel reaver starts going the other way somewhere nearby so if you've got away from him/he killed you once prepare to meet him again shortly

My experience with percentages, especially with low drop rate non-combat pets is, even if you kill enough of the mob that drops the item equal to 100% that doesen't mean you will get it. In this case even if you kill 4 Helboars which would be close to 100% drop DOES NOT mean you will get the item 100% if you kill 4 of them. The percentages on Wowhead are a collective drop rate percentages from the people who submit it. Everybody should know that any drop also involves a hint of "Luck", and is not always guaranteed no matter how many you kill. =D Good Hunting Everybody!

after 35 kills and NO blood I going to another quest for a while.

2.4% droprate for me to get all blood samples....
