Obtainable during Children's Week. Were you help out the Orphan child who follows you around, more like stumbles, and you do a few quests for. Then you turn the child in and gain your reward.

Children's Week comes around the first or second week of May, as a seasonal thing in World of Warcraft.

To start the quest is at the orphan shelter in the Valley of Honor for Horde, or at the Cathedral for alliance.

After completing the task for the child, return the whistle to the Orphan Matron to recieve your award of the following:

These quests come around every year during children's week. So, yeah. But you've got to wait a year between.

When I was young druid of lvl15, 5G was a HUGE money for me ;) I readed about pets and thought they are complitely useless, and gold is gold. Now I have more than 20k, but lack pets for Lil' Game Hunter.
Please, dont do the same mistake as me ;))

Think of the children! Unless you have acquired each pet already, of course.

They may (big may) add "rewards" like that one for at least the Shattrath questline, too, since people were able to complete Veteran Nanny in 2009. *edit* Well as of 2010, they didn't. *edit1.5* and 2011 added Gambetta.
*edit2* Patch 4.0.3 added new versions of the final quests of the Dalaran questline (Wolvar/Oracle) that award this item as well, I assume you'd get those quests if you repeat the questline for a pet you already have.

You should never get this one if you choose Pacco per Mascotte you get one Flawless Battle-Stone Pietra Evolutiva Rara which is not soulbound and could be sold quite well. On my Server it goes for around 3k

If you can use the auction house (i.e., not a trial account) and have any other choice of item, your other choice should net you many times as much gold as this item grants you. The Pacco per Mascotte is a good bet, as the Pietra Evolutiva Rara should retain high value for a long time, even as the server economy ages.

Here we are with new quests, orphans and pets for children's week but the curmudgeon is still just 5 gold! I spent more than that in gas and mileage carting that kid all around Zandalar.
