These creatures spawn en masse in Windrunner Village, but the actual drop rate seems a bit more rare than the statistics betray.

Wow, absolutely horrid drop rate. I must have killed 20 already and not gotten my first one. Considering the Phantasms drop near 100%, after the first 5 or so I wondered if I was even killing the right mobs.

Indeed! The droprate is really terrible, but for me it was like when the first dropped, they just kept coming! :)

It took me 60 kills. That's a little over 6% per Fragment for me.

Terrible drop rate. I've done this quest with about 7 different characters, and all 7 times the drop rate was around like 10%. So I'm thinkin the drop rate is anywhere from 6-10, or if you're incredibly lucky, it'll be close to 31%.

EDIT: Actually, the respawn trick works. Just kill all the gargoyles, then when they respawn, kill the respawns and you'll get a pretty decent drop rate.
