Can I ask what is snare and root resist mean? Never heard it before . Is it like resisting druids entangling roots.

Snares and roots are stuff like frost nova/entagling roots etc. not sure about hamstring. It's what a serious pvp rogue will have on his boots.

'Snare' effects deal with abilities like Hamstring and Wing Clip, even abilities like a mage's Ice Armor (the chill effect). 'Rooting' effects like Frost Nova and Entangling Roots are also able to be resisted.

For PvP and especially Arena matches I personally feel this is a superior enchant for most melee classes. Couple this with the Meta Gem: Enigmatic Skyfire Diamond: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25895 and you will have an inherant 10% resist on snare/root effects. Not to mention the +12 critical and +10 hit rating!

Best all-round enchant for PvPing. (IMO)

would be awesome if there was a caster version of this. i currently use it on my pvp boots for the resist (im a fire mage) the +10hit rating doesnt help me in the slighest but +10 spell hit would be nice too. maybe another version for that.

this is better than +12 stam or boars speed for pvp imo as nearly every hunter/rogue/druid would try to root or snare you in some way.

This enchant seems a rather odd combination of a PvE stat (the hit) and a PvP stat (the snare resistance).

I certainly wouldn't use it over +12Agi for PvE damage as a rogue, and I'd be very hesitant to use it over +12Sta for PvP, although perhaps for those who have large amounts of Gladiator's gear it would be a more favourable trade off.

Add to that the fact it is currently the only enchant that requires a Primal Nether, and that there are only a couple of Stagehands in Karazahn from which to get the pattern each clear, and this enchant just seems very poorly thought out.

if you already feel you have the hit rating needed for the encounters you are involved in get 12 agi. else this is a very nice enchant for both PvE and PvP. currently have this on my boots to compensate my hit rating and leave me free to get gear/gems lacking hit.. (:

This is a great enchant for a lvl 19 rogue (and maybe other melee classes) twink, at least
1. In a 1v1 situations against rogues
2. while having the Spirit of the Wind (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=889) Buff.
+10Hit rating gives a truckload of +hit% at 19.
Under "normal" circumstances this obviously is inferior to Minor Running Speed/Cat's Swiftness/Boar's Speed.

This enchant gets even more useful in 3.0 as the hit rating crosses the gap to casters.

As mutilate rogue; http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25895 and this enchant, the talnent Fleet Footed (10% snare resist) and Master Poisoner (30% psn resist) adds up 50% chance to resist crippling poison .. that is 20% more chance than a sub rogue has to apply .. = win :)

When 3.0 hits tomorrow, this enchant is even better. The primal nether requirement is removed and it now gives 10 crit and 10 hit rating, so good for casters and melee (however boots enchants are better to have).

This enchant is being changed with patch 3.0.2 to add crit rating instead of snare resist. Along with the hit rating and crit rating change this now becomes an incredible spell caster enchant now!

With the changes in 3.0.2, this is now the best caster boot enchant. From a mage's point of view, Hit carries a large amount of value and is definitely worth the mats. On top of that, the crit rating is largely beneficial for many fire talents that scale well and rely on critical strikes (Namely Hot Streak).

This enchant drops in Karazhan from Phantom Stagehands. There are only 3 such mobs in the entire instance (you encounter them right before the Opera event), which means there is only 4.7% chance of getting this enchant.

As of patch 3.1.0, the drop rate on all of the below enchanting formulas has been increased to Guaranteed (100%). This data was taken from the WoW Armory.

It seems to be 100% drop rate but you must be on your enchanter to get the item. If you are on a toon without enchanting it won't drop for you.

Not sure if drop rate has been increased to 100% but I got 3 enchanting recipes in one run on my enchanter mage just now - soulfrost, sunfire and surefooted
