Also dropped by any of the various earth elementals I believe. I had 30 in my bag when I needed the primal earth, and I've never been to the Shattered Halls.

When farming some ore you get some of the motes as well.
sometime you get 4 motes in a row.

Miners should have no problem picking up Primal Earths, as the motes drop readily off various veins in the Outland, especially Adamantite.

These are relatively cheap cheap and do not sell for much, compared to other primals. This is likely due to their high supply - most miners will get many primal earths while mining, but will not use them and instead up them on the AH.

Despite what you may see here, it does take ten motes to create a primal. What you see here is actually a quirk of the way Blizzard handles the spell. On Blizzard's end, a two-step process occurs:

You use the first mote, destroying it in the process.
A spell is cast, which destroys the other nine motes, and creates a primal..

This spell here--step two--is the spell that gets listed here on Wowhead.

If you are farming primal earth, you may want to look at this Primal Earth Farming guide. It includes maps of certain spots to go in Nagrand, Netherstorm, and Shadowmoon Valley.

As I have posted elsewhere, if you are here in 2012 (specifically July of 2012) then it is likely you are farming in preparation for Mists of Pandaria's release. Which, color me crazy, I would've thought we would have known by now . But whatevs.

The problem with Terra Primordiale is it's applicability. We have to be careful what we call "useless" in a game like World of Warcraft, but the enchants this item is a reagent for are outdated and not used; the gear it helps create could be used by a fan of transmogrification but the other mats involved make this a losing effort (it would seem).

There are various odds and ends (like the addy frames and mining bags) that COULD see some interest now, or when Mists releases, but it is (again) a longshot. The transmutations that alchs can perform aren't worth the midnight cooldown they cost to turn these into water, either.

I have advised on other items to simply vendor them and be done with it. With Terra Primordiale I would say, if you have the room, sit on them and see what happens. They are not going to make you rich, so if you vendor them, I don't think you will miss them. But if you're a pack-rat (like me) and just can't let go, I don't think sitting on them for a few more months will hurt.
