Desperado is a Spanish archaism meaning 'desperate' (desesperado in modern Spanish). A desperado cannot wait for something to happen and sometimes may resort to violent or reckless actions. A frontier desperado in the 19th Century was normally a drunkard in the West. Afterwards in the 20th Century the word was used to describe a daring outlaw.

Well, about the cape itself, its not really a special item, except that its red and long - in general just a better looking cape for the levelrange, regularly at lower levels all cloaks seem to look alot worse than this one... the stats, however, aren't nothing to go crazy for. +3 Stamina is just as much as "of the Stamina"-version cloaks at level 15 give.

I'll list some choices that are superior (for some classes, atleast)
Miner's Cape - might be harder to obtain at regular level 15
Subterranean Cape - easy access for the horde, and a very nice choice for low level melee classes.
Feyscale Cloak - I wanted to list a caster-choice here too, its harder for the alliance to get their hands on, but not too hard. Rare boss, though, so might take easily more than 3 runs.
Defender Cloak (of Stamina) - a level 15 green, just for comparing. Same armor value but the chance of having a higher stamina. As you see, nothing crazy.
