It procs quite often, atleast twice each mob. I have this as a lvl 65 rogue. helps out alot. But annoying when its breaking gouge.

This must have been nerfed or I have really bad luck. I got this on my 57 Shaman on a fun-run through LBRS and it didn't proc nearly as much as it says here :P

This can crit, And it procs much more often on slower weapons Swords/ 2 handers/ Staffs/ anything above 1.5 this doesn't count with slice and dices addition just the base attack speed on the weapon

5 Minutes of auto attacking with a 2.90 one hander produced 6 procs.

5 Minutes of auto attacking while spamming devastate produced 23

This item has no internal cooldown, procs off specials.

So, I was doing Hellfire Ramparts on my enchancement shaman with this trinket, without paying attention to it. When we was over with it, I lookd my Recounter -addon's my top abilities, and surprisingly I found that it made more damage than any of my schock spells or lightning bolt. In my opinion, thats a lot! This trinket surely rocks. Well worth that long time spent on Blackrock Spire.

This an amazing trinket for anything under level 60. I currently have it on my 58 farm character and it procs constantly and crits for over 2500 on most hits. If you stack this with the mark of the hidden satyr enchant and elemental force enchant you'll be almost 1 shotting everything. If you get this please give a go.

Battle for Azeroth 8.0.1 testing - Heart of Wyrmthalak

Testing on a level 59 Shaman revealed the following:

1. Procs can be identified on the combat log by looking for "Flame Lash." It can proc from auto-attacks and abilities, including Windfury auto-attacks. It did not seem to proc from Rockbiter, Frostbrand, or Flametongue; therefore, it seems the tooltip isn't lying when it says "melee attacks" only. Also hits from Spirit Wolves and Earth Elementals resulted in no procs.
2. It has no internal cooldown -- the proc occurred twice within 3 seconds several times.
3. The damage dealt by the proc fluctuates +/- 10% or so from the flat value given on the tooltip.
4. The proc can crit for 200% damage, seemingly at the same rate as your critical strike chance.
5. The damage scales with versatility. Tooltip damage increased from 221 to 227 by adding 2.6% Versatility.
6. The damage does not scale with main stat or attack power.
7. Official proc rate is 3 per minute. This is in line (more or less) with what I was getting.

TL;DR / Summary: You can expect this trinket to add about 11 damage per second off the proc (plus static 14 Haste at level 59). It'll make you a little more bursty and its random damage spurts pair well with an on-use damage trinket like Rammstein's Lightning Bolts or Smolderweb's Eye. It's not game breaking, but it's fun and could win you a couple of fights you might otherwise lose.
