You have to finish the "Are We There, Yeti?" quests first, then when you finish the scaring quest, she'll give you another 'quest' and you'll learn how to make this. I got this with only 265 engineering at lvl 56 though, as goblin engineer.

good to sell around christmas time (toy maker lfw, blah blah blah on trade channel), ive sold 5 for 75-100g each, including gift wrapping, lol.
the mats are farmable if you're a miner as well like me.
the only thing i had to buy off of ah was the leather, i managed to get a stack for 10g.
so its profitable, for special occasions.

I payed for the mats and a 10G fee to the engineer that did it, and i guess it came up to a total of about 100-120G.. So it aint cheap, but it was so worth it! :)

Indeed. I have easliy farmed the mats for these and am selling them for 280g or more each which helps because I need 4200g to get the 50 mounts accomplishment :).

Definaetly worth the timet o farm and make if you're lucky like me and no one else is putting any Yeti on the AH.

I don't know if they changed the stats on what lvl you have to be but I am at 255 engineering and I just got done doing the quest line and was able to learn the plans to make my own.

Just learned the recipe at level 80 with 250 engineering. At 248 eng the quest to learn the recipe wasn't available.

Ergo, I would assume you need 250 engineering, unless it's hella random and only needs 249 ;P

I had done the previous quest chain before the shattering, but was unable to pick up the yeti pattern, until I read here that the new chain/pattern quest will not start until you pick up the quest from Lilith the Lythe in the auction house/bank. After I did that, the quest to get the yeti popped.

Tried to get this quest today so I could get the yeti pattern and she doesn't seem to have it anymore. does anyone know if you can still get it?

Finally got the Yeti Schematic but I had to do the whole chain of quests from the inn.

As of today, July 26, 2011 - I easily did the yeti Quest from Umi Rumplesnicker at Everlook in Winterspring. If the quests don't show up at first, just do the Quests from Deez Rocksnitch and a few additional ones until you can obtain the Quests for getting the Yeti. They are uber easy quests to do at lvl 50 and up. Enjoy!

You don't need to complete ANY quest pre-Cata, however, you do need to do the following:

1. Complete Lilith, Seril, Kilram quests - you will be sent to Deez to do some quests
2. Complete Umi's chain(4 quests)
3. Be 250 or higher in Engineering

If you have done the following 3, you will get a new quest from Umi, A Yeti of Your Own, click complete, and you get to learn how to make this pet.

In point of fact you do not even need to do ALL of the quests above, you need only do:

Hammer Time and
Kilram's Boast

As soon as they are both done, before you do the third "Boast" quest, Umi Rumplesnicker will offer you Are we There, Yeti? followed by Yetiphobia. As soon as those two are completed she will immediately offer to teach you to make your own Tranquil Mechanical Yeti.

Speak with Lilith the Lithe and get Hammer Time (she'll send you to Deez Rocksnitch )

Speak to Deez Rocksnitch and complete Rubble Trouble (kill big rocks dead, collect lootz) and Boulder Delivery (take rock to Lilith)

Watch Lilith get a little....scary

Get Kilram's Boast from Kilram (back to Deez)

Do Chop Chop (kill treez, yell "TIMBER")

Get Tree Delivery, watch Kilram chop a tree down (didn't I just do that, one-shot trees with my 85?)

Talk to Seril Scourgebane, get Seril's Boast, wonder what idiocracy you're going to see next

Back to Deez for Fresh from the Hills

But...you don't have to complete it. Umi Rumplesnicker now offers 3 quests

Pick up Are We There, Yeti? and The Perfect Horns. Collect Yeti fur
(When I killed my first yeti, Strange Life Force popped up, which isn't necessary for this quest, but I grabbed in case I ever decide to come back)

After I completed Are You There, Yeti, I still had to get the horn one before I could see Yetiphobia. Do yourself a favor and grab both; then you can kill yetis in the cave on the way to Icewhomp.

As she says,

I can't make a yeti without horns!

Now you get Yetiphobia

Scare Legacki. Turn quest in.

Get A Yeti of Your Own. And now you can MAKE a yeti of your own.

Today i crafted this pet and deal was 50 g for crafting.I crafted it then alt tabbed and started to watch MW 3 trailers.The guy must have been really angry with this sudden afk and i found myself in the lake near Dwarven dsitrict and he was trying to pull me under water so i would die.20 min of angry moments for him and i just said;
"This is free because of makin you wait."

Sadly I can confirm that the quest "A Yeti of Your Own" is GONE (patch 5.2) even for a character who did the pre Cata winterspring quests, I just leveled engineer on an old abandoned lvl 70 to check. Here is the response from a GM:
" I understand that you're wanting to get a Tranquil Mechanical Yeti! The plans to make them are sadly gone at this time, but you can still get the yeti itself! If you check out the comments here (look for recent date stamps), there are some good hints as to where you can get it from:

So I'm guessing the Blingtron comment is right, and if you already had the recipe then you can keep making them. GM also said "Additionally, you can definitely let the Developement Team that you'd like to see the plans made available again! The best thing to do would be sumbit a suggestion using the in-game feature (which, actually came about due to player feedback!). These suggestions get reviewed by the Developement Team, so this method is the most direct and effective way to get your ideas heard.

To use that feature:
Open the Customer Support window.
Click Submit Suggestion.
Enter your suggestion (following the guidelines helps to paint a better picture of what you mean)
Click Submit. "

On the plus side, Lil smoky and the Pet bombling still drop from Gnomer :)

The quest has been confirmed by the GM as being removed. So, completing the Yeti quest chain will not get you this pattern any longer per Scagarrde, Customer Service Representative

There are a lot of conflicting comments here, so I went out to Everlook on a boosted engineer that had never quested in Winterspring until today to test this.

At first, the only (non-Silithus-breadcrumb) quest available was 'Hammer Time' from Lilith the Lithe.

I completed:

Hammer Time
Rubble Trouble
Boulder Delivery

and then these quests which start with Kilram, the troll standing next to Lilith:

Kilram's Boast
Chop Chop
Tree Delivery

At that point, I picked up the quest 'Seril's Boast' from Seril Scourgebane, talked to Deez Rocksnitch to get the follow-up quest, and I noticed then that three quests had appeared on Umi Rumplesnicker. I dropped the Deez Rocksnitch quest, then picked up and completed in this order:

Are We There, Yeti?
Echo Three
The Perfect Horns
Yetiphobia

At this point, Umi gave me the Mechanical Yeti item, but there was no follow-up 'A Yeti of Your Own' quest as I had expected. I went back to Deez Rocksnitch and finished the Seril quest chain, which opened the Starfall Village breadcrumb, but that did not prompt any further quests or speech options from Umi. I submitted an in-game suggestion that the schematic be reinstated in the game, and I suggest other engineers seeking this pattern do the same!

If you had this recipe in the past and dropped engineering she will reteach the pet to you just by going back and talking to her. Please Note, you have had to have known how to make the pet before!

Can confirm I got it from a Blingtron 5000 package. I was running around on my alt 'toon and got it out of a package by rare chance. Made an account just to let people know it's possible to get the pet itself from a Blingtron 5000/4000.

This just dropped for me from a Blingtron 6000 Gift Package. Given that its also listed to drop from the 4000 variety, I'm guessing that it can drop from any of the Blington gifts. I imagine its a very low drop rate.

the recipe for this pet was not realy removed from the game. basically the blingtron is an engineer crafted item. it offers a gift box daily to anyone who completes teh quest. that gift box has a high chance to contain any engineering item.

this can range from battle pets to reagents.

every day you are basically guaranteed

gearspring parts and/or truesteel ingnots/temporal crystal fragments (not sure what 6k gives, but 5k does this every day) gives enchatning mats because some recipes for engineering require them, a slight chance to acquire overcharged capacitors
one x decoded message OR 1x encoded message
a random borderline sexually suggestive item that sells for a few silver
a chance at a 200g rose
a chance at an 800g grey item (low)
the quest for blingtron brawlers guild (removed)
a random chance at any other item in the game (even some removed items though very low) such as potions, flasks , random junk.
a high chance at a pet of the mechanical variety (hgiher chance for a green pet)

9 times out of 10 this is an engineering crafted pet but could also be any mechanical pet.
9 times out of 10 this pet is either mechanical yeti or mechanical squirrel
tehre are also some blingtron exclusive pets such as

lil bling
sky bo

a chance at a random engineering related mount (low)

this yeti and that dumb squirrel just will not go away.
so no need to fret, the recipe technically just got moved to being a bling tron item.

Good News Everyone!

I just went to Xizzer Vitepazza in winterspring to see what he was selling and saw a Schema: Yeti Meccanico Pacifico with a qty of 1 to be sold! I dont know if you have to have completed the quest to be able to buy it or not.

This makes this pet schematic attainable again!
