As of now, if the Wowhead preview of the mount is accurate, Blizzard didn't actually use Taivan's model as a reference for the Taivan mount...
This mount has blonde fur and spikes, whereas the actual Taivan NPC has reddish fur and no back spikes.
Blizzard really didn't handle these mount metas well in 10.2.6.

Mount now resemble Taivan's in-game model & Wowhead updated their preview in the post.

This is an account-wide achievement, so you can complete different steps in the achievement on different characters. To track your progress across your different characters, go to the Wowhead profiler and pin all of your characters that have made progress on any of the steps in the achievement.

How to pin a character on the Wowhead profiler: Go to: https://www.wowhead.com/list
Look up your character.
On the top right of the character screen are a couple of tools: Logs, Verify, Pin, Hide, Filters, Planner, etc. Click on Pin.
Now, when you hover over one of the requirements for this achievement, it will show which characters have completed it.
If Wowhead isn't correctly showing completed achievements for one of your characters, go to the Wowhead profiler, look up your character, and use the Update button in the upper right corner.

I completed the achievement today, and to my surprise, another bugged mount. I summon Taivan, but nothing appears. Nice, Blizzard. -.-

A tip if you want to be able to have the mount icon and be able to summon it until Blizzard fixes this bug: Make a macro as follows:

#showtooltip Taivan
/cast Taivan
__________________________

And to find the correct mount icon in the icon list, scroll all the way down to the bottom and you should find Taivan's icon! The further down you go, the newer "expansion icons" you will get. Cheers! :)

Did they reduce his size in a hotfix today...? Was using him this morning and he was the size in the screenshots on this page. Logged in 8 hours later and he is MUCH smaller...

MAKE TAIVAN BIG AGAIN BLIZZ! The best part about him was the size. Now he's just a basic looking mount that requires way too much time and effort to acquire. What were you thinking?

Return Taivan to his original size!

The story of Taivan was always how he was a gentle giant, now we get him as a mount he is the size of a normal bakar; that is just a non issue like how they had to nerf dragon riding speeds before bringing them to the rest of Azeroth.

There many things Blizz needs/needed to change, but this mount size was NOT one of em. He's a big dog cause it's a big achievement. Still working to complete it, but now I'm going to be less excited when I do.
