I just got one of these in AQ 40 when trying to get some mounts for the achivement.
I don't know what they've been worth, but basically they're not worth anything more, since almost no one is going to do the quests wich require these anyway.

They can reward 500 Rep with Brood of Nozdormu if you gathered all the items, but it'd be better to hand them over to a 60 Twink or someone that wants the gear.

This item drops from trash mobs in Ahn'qiraj and can also be found in Grande Forziere dello Scarabeo in the same area.

The idol is used for redeeming epic items through quests provided after the first boss, Profeta Skeram. The quest-givers' approximate coordinates are (59, 68).

This idol is used for the following classes/quests/items:

Cacciatore: Requires 2x Idolo del Sole for Gambiere dell'Assalitore from Kandrostrasz to redeem Gambiere dell'Assalitore (must be Friendly with Stirpe di Nozdormu).

Mago: Requires 2x Idolo del Sole for Stivali dell'Enigma from Kandrostrasz to redeem Stivali dell'Enigma (must be Neutral with Stirpe di Nozdormu)
AND Requires 2x Idolo del Sole for Vesti dell'Enigma from Vethsera to redeem Vesti dell'Enigma (must be Honored with Stirpe di Nozdormu).

Ladro: Requires 2x Idolo del Sole for Guardaspalle del Venditore di Morte from Andorgos to redeem Guardaspalle del Venditore di Morte (must be Neutral with Stirpe di Nozdormu).

Guerriero: Requires 2x Idolo del Sole for Elmo del Conquistatore from Andorgos to redeem Elmo del Conquistatore (must be Friendly with Stirpe di Nozdormu).
